Great book pics—some I would never have picked up on my own but I loved them! I love their analysis of the texts, banter, and info! This podcast has enhanced my reading life immensely!

I first started listening to the Sword and Laser Podcast about 7-8 years ago. And in the time since then, other podcasts have come and gone, but Veronica and Tom have never left my regular rotation. If you’re looking for great books discussions and news about speculative fiction, then this is the podcast for you. I’m sorry it took me so long to write a review!

Also, their rapport always gives the show a fun, lighthearted vibe I really dig. I also appreciate how they feature books from diverse authors, and select books for their book club that range from genre classics to tomes from the latest, most exciting voices in genre publishing. This is a nice mix of science fiction and fantasy news. The length of the show is just about perfect—between 30 and 40 minutes—and the host have great chemistry.

I’ve found quite a few great books and series listening to the Sword and Laser. Recommended.

I found this podcast while trying to find something to listen to while walking my pups. It's become much more as it got me back into wanting to read some great SF and fantasy as well as have a group of fun people to share it with. Veronica and Tom are great in their super chill way of talking about books, tv shows, movies, authors, and whatever else that may or may not have to do with the world of fantasy and science fiction.

I truly enjoy being a part of the Sword and Laser community. It gets me reading a new book each month, many that I may not typically pick up, and for the most part there are no regrets. The podcast is fun and informative. It is clear that Tom and Veronica enjoy each other and bring a wealth of sci-fi and fantasy knowledge. The audience is always included. Been listening for several years and keep it at the top of my podcast queue.

I like hearing about books and the hosts are very enjoyable. But Veronica often feels the need to interject her feelings on the ills of the world that are holding women and minorities back in the world of SF and Fantasy. I just want to hear about new books that I might be interested in - I don't care what bucket the author falls into.

These two fine folks are very good at covering genre fiction, running a book club and are simply lovely people. They're bringing people together and giving nerds of all shapes and sizes a very comfy digi-home. Thanks for all the years of being in my ears!

I have discovered so many new books through this podcast that I would never have picked up otherwise. The discussion is always thoughtful and often hilarious. The associated forums are lively. This is a great find for lovers of science fiction and fantasy in all mediums.

Binge listening to every episode of Sword and Laser. So good.

Even though I've yet to be in synch enough to actually read one if the books while the hosts are discussing it, I love the book club aspect of the show, the news and interviews, and the geeky enthusiasm and friendly chemistry of the hosts.

Don't always read along but love to listen. Especally to the Science Fiction/Fantasy news, and author interviews. Love the banter between Veronica and Tom. Great podcast!

Sword and Laser is a great combination of news, discussion, and interesting book pics/suggestions. I've tried out about a dozen different scifi/fantasy discussion podcasts in recent and S&L is so far out in front of the rest that there's really no comparison.

I adore this show. You should give it a try if you like either Sci-Fi or Fantasy.

I've been listening to S&L for little more than a year. It's funny, informative, has a high production value, AND it's the first sff podcast I go to when I've got spare time. Keep up the great work--I can't wait to become a Patreon supporter.

This long running bookclub podcast is a must listen for fans of SFF, and anyone who wants to discover new books, or other media. They have really great information for fandom, fantastic author interviews, and an amazing community around the podcast. They focus mostly on books, but do touch on other media. And they have great interaction with their fans. This is the only podcast I have listened to non-stop since I first discovered it years ago. Highly recommended!

To all Science Fiction or Fantasy fans this is a must listen. Veronica and Tom read and discuss new and older books by authors both tried and ture and new and unknown. They have author interviews that give the listener insight into the inner workings of the brains of those who create worlds out of nothing but imagination. The hosts make this show fun and entertaining by allowing the listener to be "just" another friend sitting around discussing what we all love, EXCELLENT BOOKS. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Tom and Veronica are fun to listen to. They bring a good mix of book discussion and sci-fi fantasy news. The show feels like you're taking part in an interesting coversation with friends.

I have been listening to the Sword and Laser off and on for about two years, but always followed their Goodreads page because I wanted to know about new and interesting books in scifi and fantasy. However, recently I have found that Tom and Veronica on the Sword and Laser are perfect companions for running. Because I would much rather be in my house reading a good book than out getting exercise, having this podcast with all of the latest news and amazing banter as well as thoughtful discussions of books in my favorite genres helps make running a little more bearable. I've been listening to all the back episodes that I've missed over the years. If you love reading scifi and fantasy but occasionally have to do other things, like running or driving or cleaning, then this podcast is perfect for you.

A great podcast and extension of the book club on Goodreads. It includes news and conversations about other happenings in the SFF universe as well as highlighting some of the more interesting conversations/debates from Goodreads. As an added bonus, Veronica will often misfire on the pronunciation of words or names. It's kind of adorable. I hope this podcast runs forever.
