Love the show, but the Borris episode, really?
Jonah, I know you’re on the players’ side, and I have a lot of places I’d love to discuss this, but when we got to Borris’ comment about “performance enhancing drugs” and Bonds, and you didn’t call him out about the allegations of the substances officially banned by the rules (whether anyone agrees with that or not) and the administration of “Tylenol” to reduce a fever...c’mon man.

    Get a better mike
Five star content and one star sound quality.

    Fix the sound
I only listen occasionally now because usually the sound is horrible. Get a new mic man.

    But the sound quality
Love Jonah since the Grantland days, he’s always well-informed and genuinely curious about his guests. I know he’s made an effort to conduct the interviews in person to improve rapport with his guests but not recording in an actual studio makes this podcast nearly impossible to listen to at times.

This is the best podcast ever!
Jonah has the best most awesome podcast theme song and he’s pretty great at interviews.

    Great show with interesting guests
The variety of guests really make this podcast shine. From Prime Ministers, Sports Owners, food critics, and everywhere in between, Jonah does an awesome job interviewing a unique cross section of humanity.

    Great interviews, spotty audio quality
Jonah is a great interviewer who gets fantastic guests and has wonderful conversations with them that touch on many broad topics in sports and beyond. However, for a handful of episodes (e.g. the recent episode with Alexander Wolff), the audio quality is terrible, and there is a huge volume mismatch between Jonah and the guest, making it is almost impossible to hear the guest even under ideal listening conditions (not to mention when trying to listen while working out or riding the bus).

    Great show
    Very insightful and fun

    Sound quality
I like Jonah generally, but nothing distinguishes this from any other interview podcast. Main issue is that the sound quality is almost always way subpar. He's been doing this too long with too much support to not have the sound figured out.

Interesting Pod, Nearly Sunk by Horrible Audio Quality
I have enjoyed Jonah Keri's podcast going back to his Grantland days. I appreciate his eclectic roll of guests and his varied interests. He is an excellent interviewer & conversationalist. However, the audio quality of his podcast is atrocious to the point it makes it difficult to listen--I have stopped several podcasts simply because I got frustrated with trying to decipher what the he and his guests are saying due to the inaudible sound quality.

    Always enjoyable and educational
Every time I see a new episode pop up I question whether I want to listen to this interview with some random person I've never heard of, and every time I decide to listen and I'm never disappointed. It's always a great show with fantastic guests, and I always come away from an episode having learned not only about that person, but about sports, entertainment, business, and many other facets of life. Very positive and edifying show.

    Awesome podcast
Perfect mix of fun, serious, and sports

    Unlistenable
Jonah, you spend too much time muttering under your breath for this podcast to be an exercise in volume adjustment. Followed by a 3 minute muttering advertisement for Blue Apron was an "interview" with Ozzie Smith which was apparently in a fishbowl. Stick to writing and leave speaking to professionals.

    Good content, horrible sound quality
This podcast is pretty good and has a diverse set of guests but the sound quality is uneven at best. Jonah travels to interview his guests so you have to cut some slack but honestly I've heard better sound quality on strictly iPhone recorded shows. Since the election politics are also discussed more frequently.

    Much more than sports
Jonah Keri is an excellent host and this podcast always features amazing guests, both within and outside of sports. Highly recommended! Only negative is that the audio quality can be poor, particularly now with the switch to CBS
  • Edm2hb
One of the best podcast interviewers
Love Jonah. Each episode is an entertaining listen and it makes me sad to see negative reviews just because he isn't focusing on baseball anymore. He works hard to get great, interesting guests and get an interesting interview. Cheers Jonah

Great Mix of Sports and Miscellaneous
Great podcast by Jonah Keri that is primarily sports focused, mixed in with non-sports guests.
  • BShest
    Smart and fun
Excellent podcast. Jonah is a smart, funny, and gracious host. He knows baseball better than almost anyone, but he's also a well-rounded dude who makes the conversations more entertaining by tying in personal reflections and sometimes even the broader social context around sports. Give this pod a try!

    Awesome pod!
Thanks for being a cheerful, thoughtful, and curious host/human, Jonah. Have really enjoyed listening for the past year!

    Great interviews
Jonah has always been one of my favorites in media. What he has done with this version of the podcast has been great. There's only so much baseball you can cover and he really gets a lot out of his guests, especially ones I didn't know anything about previously. If I do have one piece of constructive criticism, it's to improve sound quality. I know that's easier said than done with some of the locations Jonah has to use when he lands certain interviews, but it can be very tough to listen to during some weeks.

    Excellent
Get this podcast, you won't be disappointed. Jonah is knowledgeable on a variety of subjects and you can tell he does his homework. Like other Nerdist pods, it's a very relaxed conversation. Great stuff.

Jonah does a great job getting engaging guests and really is the podcaster out there! (Fight me if you think otherwise)

I subscribed to listen to sports. If I wanted another Liberal podcast I'd listen to NPR.

    Great podcast
I must have been living under a rock because I had not heard of Jonah until I bought his book about the Montreal Expos. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite podcasts.

    Good content but bad audio
I enjoy Jonah, but sometimes his audio during interviews is unbearable.

    Tighten it up a bit
some episodes get 5 stars and some deserve 1. Spaceman was 5 stars. On another episode the guest was eating.

Excellent sports podcast by a sports journalist that isn't about sports all the time. The guests are interesting and Jonah does a great job of getting to their humanity.

    Poor Production Value
Jonah! Mic these guests up properly and put them in a room that is conducive to sound quality and free of distractions and manipulatives. If a guest gesticulates wildly and repeatedly slams his fists on the table, please wrap his arms in cotton and pad the table, too. Please put some thought into this because I really enjoy your podcasts, but the last few that I have downloaded have suffered from the same issues.

    Pod Review
Oddly, sound quality is horrendous and often inaudible. Not sure why. Decent host and some very interesting guests, wish I could hear them clearly.
  • HailDiscordia
Good podcast, but awful sound quality
I enjoy Jonah's show, especially when he sticks to baseball. Which is definitely what he does best. It's funny, some good guests. But the quality of the recording is dreadful. On more than one occasion I turned it off after a couple of minutes because it sounded like he was in my bathroom. I understand he's not operating out of a studio, but it's pretty bush league. Get some decent equipment please. Thanks!

    Generally Good
Jonah does a great job (always) - it's the guests that sometimes make this podcast sink or swim.

    great radio
Jonah has expanded his horizons on Nerdist. Not only talking about baseball, but other sports and life. It makes for great radio. Lots of good guests. Jonah loves to geek out on things, and its good to listen too

    Like an old friend
Listening to Jonah Keri is like meeting up with an old friend at a bar and having him introduce you to a new friend every week. Favorite episodes include Dave Flemming, Michael Farber, Irin Carmon, and Onrait/O'Toole. You need not be a baseball fan to enjoy it, but it's extra fun if you are.

Good job by you Jonah. Your interviewing style has evolved and these conversations are always smart. Thanks JK.

    Great Pod
Always a favorite. Good, warm-hearted and humorus convos with an interesting variety of guests. Not just for sports fans.

Like Barnwell's new podcast that's been able to expand to non-football guests and topics, it's been fun to see Jonah be able to expand his podcast's subjects after arriving at Nerdist. He's one of the best sportswriters out there and it's great to have a regular podcast outlet for him.

    Jonah is the best
This is the best podcast. Jonah is smart, inquisitive and also is one of the best follows on Twitter. The love he has for his job comes through in all mediums.

    Miss the baseball
Love Jonah, but this isn't why I come here. The old format was wonderful. There's enough out there like this.
  • sjsharksfan39
    I miss the Baseball Talk
I respect Jonah Keri's writing and loved his podcasts from his own to Grantland. I figured I would give this one a try and maybe it would have the same flavor of his old show. While it's a decent show, it's not really the reason I listen to Jonah. I'm craving for Baseball podcasts that don't do hardcore sabermetrics. I just want a show covering Baseball because for some reason there aren't much out there and the ones there are are not all that great. This podcast is no longer a Baseball show. It's more of a philosphy show with a Sports slant. While some of the interviews have been great (Dan Haren a few weeks ago, Mira last week), it's not really why I listen to this show and it's not really worth a place in my growing list of Podcast subscriptions. It's a shame because I really do like Keri and his Baseball work. I wish he had kept the Baseball podcast, even after moving to Nerdist.
