    Great concept!
Each episode is framed as a debate about the positives and negatives of a type of technology or tech trend, with intriguing results. Engaging host too!

    Awesome podcast!
This podcast is great. It keeps your attention and talks about very interesting topics. It almost sounds like you are listening to a TV show on the discovery channel or science Channel. Definitely recommend this podcast for anybody, not just tech enthusiasts.

    Suspenseful hitech drama uncovered
Ben focuses on current subject matters and leaves matters for thought. His voice is balm to the ear. Hilarious old radio drama format with sounds, interviews and characters. Looking forward to tap in nightly for a provocative listen!

    Long episodes, iffy science
Not sure these guys are responsibly representing issues, they seem to lack opposing view on their show. Makes for boring and predictable content.
  • The Fiz
    Smart, gentile, funny
Don't have much more, I'm really into it though.
  • LS2C
    The anti-Black Mirror
The show gave me a totally different and more nuanced viewpoint on things like surveillance, VR, porn, EMAIL. Plus Ben is a natural storyteller and it's pretty unbelievable the people and narratives he and his team came up with. If I may mix media here, where shows like Black Mirror make me terrified of the direction of technology, CodeBreaker helps me understand it, even if it is evil in the end.
  • Cultura de Paz
    Wide-ranging exploration of surveillance
Fascinating how this podcast shows a wide variety of different instances of surveillance. Unusual, surprising, and always with a great deal of human compassion.

    A surprising and enjoyable ride
Ben Johnson has a voice, style and approach that resonates. He "gets" tech, is savvy with the intersection of tech with our culture and humanity, an searches out interesting voices to add context. Plus, the whole "ask a single question against a different tech each episode" makes Codebreaker digestible and fun. Good one @marketplace!

    Great in so many ways
The first season of Codebreaker was interesting. In the second season, Ben Johnson takes it up a level and makes it fascinating. How? By making the complicated issues he takes on human. The issues are big and real and so are the human stories Ben finds to bring them to life. Well worth listening to.

    Very thought-provoking.

    Interesting topics and well done
I love this podcast. I am a software developer and like the concept and the execution. Ben is a great host and gives enebles me to look beyond my daily work.

    Killer
In a sea of false podcasts and garbage time listening, John Benson truly soars above. His truth, soothing voice and frank discussion of seemingly benign, but complicated topics is a refreshing take on e-journalism in this dark age of Trumpmerica.

    Finding humanity in technology
Where Black Mirror states "Technology: bad," Codebreaker asks "Technology: bad?" In addition to in-depth reporting on fascinating sci-fi-esque inventions and innovations, Ben Johnson has a knack for pulling sincere, revealing interviews out of people who are clearly more comfortable around computers than around other human beings. After listening to episode three, it's clear that the boundary between humans and computers is quickly disappearing… Well worth your time.

    Gripping and Surprising
Code Breaker is fun, informative and is one of the few podcasts about technology that I would listen to since it's goes further than just glorifying new gadgets. Ben Johnson is funny, relatable and asks challenging questoins about technology. I love this podcast.

Bigger questions about our relationship to tech
Codebreaker has really great sound editing—if you like Radiolab you will like this one—and they investigate bigger questions about our relationship to technology which is really throught-provoking, timely and fun. Educational and entertaining. Highly recommend.

The best thing out there on tech
I'm so happy the second season of Codebraker is FINALLY here. In a sea of quality journalism related to technology, this podcast is better than them all. The detailed reporting is unbeatable, and Ben Johnson provides a perfect mix of humor and information in a voice that makes you feel like you're having a conversation with your very smart friend.

Tech insight that won't make you feel like an idiot
My family was hooked from the first episode of this entertaining and informative podcast. The host — who seems like an ingratiating, smart fella — doesn't get bogged down in nonsense tech jargon. Looking foward to digging into season 2.

    Radiolab Meets Marketplace
The topicality of Marketplace combined with the intriguing storytelling of Radiolab, combined with the fun of the classic "decoder ring." Codebreaker is fun, engaging, and relevant.
  • CityDweller22
Second season off to a great start
More great work this year! Looking forward to the whole season if I can't crack the codes.

    A Thought-Provoking Jewel
As a born-and-bred tech geek, Codebreaker is about as tailor-made a podcast as you could hope for someone like me. It is lighthearted while respecting its subject matter, thought-provoking but never depressing, and above all relatable. This is because it deals with the technologies that directly impact our lives, breaks them down to ease our understanding, then leaves their implications open-ended. Also, the incentive of making you crack a code embedded into each episode to unlock the next one early is an ingenious way of obtaining audience engagement. (I actually cracked the code in Episode 1 of Season 2… Made me feel so smug!) A jewel for all to enjoy!

    Listen!
Tremendous show. They cover tech topics bigly. Other podcasts can't compare. Sad.

    The Future Is Now
One of the most compelling and interesting podcasts out right now. This show raises the questions that many tech heads have been asking as we willingly submit to our technological dependence. I am eagerly awaiting more content and hope to see the show continue on its set path.

Great concept, wonderful show, fantastic host
If you're like me, seven minutes of Marketplace Tech isn't enough for you; Codebreaker fills that empty void in your ear with an highly engaging Podcast. Codebreaker brings a renewal to thoughts on tech that are typically brushed off by the average user, and the take on these topics are thought provoking and sometimes down right scary to how close they relate to you own tech usage. Are Podcasts Evil? This one is, because it leaves you wanting more.
  • Dante Lerae
    Intensely Satisfying
I really loved this show and can’t wait to see what they do next. Answering the hard querstions throught stories and interviews it was a perfect first season.
  • Italian_Medicine_Man
    Anyone crack the code?
I enjoy the ability of the host to view both sides to the posed questions (although I feel sometimes the question is multifaceted. My only issue with the series is “what is the code”? I am usually listening to my podcasts on my phone (which allows me to double the speed of play) and I haven’t figured out the slightest clue what code I’m breaking, what hint is given — I feel I’m not in the know and don’t pick up on the subtleties and nuances that either Tech people get or code breakers understand. I’m an information monger, so I enjoy gaining odd pieces of information like reading email is not beneficial or productive; however writing emails makes people feel they are productive. Although, I think it’s more a psychology of things being asked. But if someone could shoot me a reply or let me in on where to start trying to crack the code. Thanks
  • Goranger22
    Informative story telling
I love the topics covered each week and the focus on 'is it evil?'
  • greggman
    Condescending and lame
Wow I can't believe how much I dislike this show. Listened to the entire season because I love tech and kept hoping it was going to stop being so condescending and poorly conceived. The whole premise of the entire first season is entirely bs and completely designed as click-bait. In the last ep we even get so called tech gurus who apparently don't know if you get an ad for something not appropriate you can just click "don't show me this ad"-> "why? Not interested". Some tech guru ... Sheesh
  • CaseyHH
    get to the point
