DefenderOfDemocracyWhat a great show!I stumbled upon this podcast and find the topics and hostess information in a way that’s interesting and entertaining (even the tough issues). I appreciate this show and tune in every episode.

berni2012Episode on Interracial Dating was a pro-White infomercialI find the hosts on the episodes on interracial dating and Critical Race Theory to be unhelpful in understanding how people of African descent built the wealth of the entire Western Hemisphere and Europe, according to renowned experts like Prof Howard French (Columbia), Prof Marlene Daut (Yale) & the late Profs Michel Trouillot (Univ of Chicago) and Cheikh Anta Diop (Université de Dakar). I mention this macro issue about the importance of people of African descent around the world because it was literally heartbreaking, especially on the episode on interracial dating, to hear how these women centered the fiction of Whiteness by only defining themselves in relation to White people. What I would tell the women on this show is free yourself from the White gaze and educate yourself on how Africa built the world and your relationship with this fact.

B-TopherRepresenting different corners of MediaI love this podcast and the guests brought on. Different perspectives on representation for minorities in media - whether race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or identity, religion, or people with disabilities. This gave new context for where some underrepresented kinds of people are limited to certain stereotypes for roles, but it also helps showcase the content that break from these molds. I've watched several shows/movies based on what I've heard on this podcast, from One Day At A Time with Rita Moreno to Spa Night with Joe Seo. They also tackle current event topics including #OscarsSoWhite, the Weinstein allegations and sexual assault/harassment in Hollywood, and unequal pay amongst costars.

fem80Great Interviews and Cultural AnalysisI'm currently binging to get through all the episodes - working my way backwards and loving it. The host, Aisha, is great - witty and interesting. The interviews are amazing, and Aisha's reviews are awesome.

FlammiferaThankful!Aisha, thank you so much for doing this work! I'm white but trying to notice/think more broadly about representation, so thank you for sharing your & your guests' experiences. Aisha and Veralyn are pleasant, thoughtful interviewers, and they cover a wide variety of genres (mostly tv/movie).

ShirsiSmart. Thoughtful. Engaging. Listen!Aisha Harris does such an intelligent, thoughtful and engaging podcast. She is so down to earth and connects so thoughtfully and humanly with her guests. I feel incredibly privileged as a white woman to be able to listen and learn. And enjoy. Thank you Aisha Harris!

AlyQRepresent RoseJust listened to the Represent Rose episode and really enjoyed it. I don't watch The Bachelorette or The Bachelor ever (and I don't even get that channel) but I am eagerly awaiting your next RR episode.
-

DsarkarOne of the best podcasts out thereI downloaded Slate's Represent, largely, to learn more about the non-white experience in the film industry. As a white person serving this industry, it's imperative to continually educate myself on the unique and very real struggles that face people of color. Also, it's a very well written and executed podcast that covers a great blend of new films as well as interviews with industry pioneers. Easily one of my favorite podcasts. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

OffployedFinally.FINALLY found another podcast I like. Check out Represent if you've been sifting through the medium trying to find anything beyond True Crime and self-important white dudes. Woke, relevant, grounded, conversational.

Strid8This old suburban white chick loves this show!I love this podcast. It's like sitting in on a conversation with my daughter and her friends (without the request for cash at the end). The subjects are always interesting, intelligently presented, and thought provoking. The episode with Kathy Griffin reminded me how much and why I love and respect her so much. Just awesome! I look forward to each episode. Thank you for your great work.

The Ebony AvengerGreat podcast!Slate and Panoply don't have many podcasts that regularly address gender and racial issues exclusively. However, Represent is an excellent, thoughful and fun podcast that is well-hosted by Aisha Harris. The fact that underrepresented communities are not a part of the mainstream places greater burden on the shoulders of this show to give them a platform. Thank God that it is doen as well as it is. Aisha displays a maturity and expertise at interviewing and reporting that belies her youth spirit. I hope this quality of thsi podcast is built upon by others who take up it's inclusive mission.

OrdGirl275Pop Culture with Depth...Wha?A wonderful podcast dealing with pop culture and often in relation to how people of color are seen, represented, and how people of color react to pop culture. Done trippingly, expertly, somewhat joyously and always with surprising depth. Brava.
-
TaylorGreenGoldNew FavoriteBeen listening to Aisha since the beginning. The content and interviews have always been top notch, and Aisha is hitting her stride. While I have always been a fan, this is the podcast I look forward to the most!

CSBowie79Love this podcast! So glad Aisha has her own show. She's smart with a great point of view and has such an enjoyable on-air personality.
-
ljoycekGreat show terrible theme songI think the goal with the music was that it feel contemplative. Unfortunately, it just feels sad. This podcast deserves up beat music that celebrates the coming conversation.
-
henryclearMy New FavoriteThis is one of my new favorite podcasts. I love Aisha Harris!
-
DrewGregoryGreatI was frustrated because while I love BoJack Horseman, Alison Brie voicing a Vietnamese character still really bothers me and I felt like there was little written on the subject. Then voila! This podcast came along. In only a few episodes Harris and her co-hosts and guests have discussed so many important, fascinating, and complicated topics. Some podcasts I save for my commute. This one I listen to as soon as an episode is posted. Can't wait to hear more!
-
LilcaramelmommieSo far So good!I'm loving the content so far. This is a much needed podcast. Can't wait to hear more!
-
somebody blondeGREAT PodcastI'm a Slate+ member, so I get all my podcasts from them in a single feed. I usually only listen to the Gabfests, Whistlestop and Hang Up and Listen and ignore the rest. However, I decided to try this on a whim when I saw it pop up in my feed, and I'm really glad I did. Aisha Harris is an excellent host- she is always well-researched about her guests, so she asks really great questions. Additionally, she has great rapport with the guest hosts. I'm super excited to see where this podcast goes, especially because it's introducing me to material I wasn't previously familiar with.

jessica.d.oliveiraRefreshing! Excited for more.I loved hearing Aisha on Another Round. It was a great to listen to a discussion about movies for and by people of color. I walked away with many interesting and psychologically safe movie recommendations (I say that because my experience at the box office is usually emotionally exhausting) and I am looking forward to subscribing to this podcast and learning more. After listening to the first episode, I am already eager to research and learn more about Brazilian films, which are representative of my ethnic background. Thanks!
-
ElsmaruGreat podcast!Yay! So glad Slate finally gave Aisha a podcast! This is a great listen with interesting viewpoints that aren't always covered. Don't miss out!

SeattlegaydadExcellentAisha Harris has created a podcast that speaks to directly to my kids. They are very interested and excited about the conversations and interviews, and especially who is having them. My daughters and son are navigating a white world, and Represent has been empowering and validating for them. This is an excellent, and necessary podcast. Thank you to Ms. Harris.

DeadKennedyListen! This meditation on underrepresented groups in film and media is excellent and should be required listening. Can't wait for more from the talented Aisha Harris.
