Chris Carter is hands down the best sports show anchor I have encountered. He is balanced, thoughtful, and insightful with his commentary and has a great rotating set of guests. Passionate without being biased. Also clearly the best rapper on the locked on network - just listen to his twista-like intro.

Can we fix the sound? I love the show but when Chris is talking it sounds like he’s in a closet and I have to turn it up. Then a sound clip plays and it blows my speakers out. Awesome show, awesome info, terrible sound production. Love it though.

I like the podcast. It is very informative. My beef is with the commercials and plugs. The commercials are extremely loud, loud enough to hurt your ears with earbuds in. TV solved that problem by passing a law about the volume on commercials. I will never give someone a 5 star review who asks for it. The same way I will never make something my first listen if someone tells me to. Let the podcast stand on its own merits.

Every show from chris Carter and his guest are just the best Accurate content and always consistent with integrity I watch every episode from Chris and other podcasts where he is a guest he’s one of best podcast there is always making sure that what he reports is accurate and done with integrity has great guests in Tony Josh Wes Hannna and others Moats sometimes he will educate you as a fan like no other I catch all of his shows and all of other shows where he’s a guest I know what he reports is true and accurate he makes sure that he checks his sources and facts like no other and he’s super focused and covers so much on every show I give him 10 stars not five. Love how quick and thorough he is when he does his sponsors spots he does sponsor promos better then anybody else I T was funny first time I heard him it was audio only thought for two weeks he was chris Carter the receiver should of gotten on apple podcast long time and gave him five star rating long time ago just always listen on utube Chris is the best Enjoy all of his work could go on forever just couldn’t be any better

Honestly just a great show. You can listen to Steelers news and information without hot take garbage. Chris analyzes and breaks down topics like no other in Pittsburgh. By far the most knowledgeable Steelers content and it’s really fun to listen too. Can’t recommend this enough to actual fans.

The biggest issue is that the ads are unbearable. I’ve almost stopped listening because of them, and it’s not just the ads themselves, it’s how Chris handles them…let me explain. The amount of ads aren’t THAT bad and are comparable to other podcasts nowadays, unless you factor in that this podcast is shorter than most podcasts. This podcast is 20-35 minutes typically, so while it may have ads comparable to other podcasts, those podcasts are usually over an hour. There is usually an ad break at the start, and then two ad breaks during the show that break it into three segments. So, AT BEST, you get 8+ minutes of talk and then 2+ minutes of ads. Yes, you can skip the ads, but Chris makes the 2 minutes or so of ads turn into 3-4 minutes. How? Well…he does outros, intros, AND music transitions for EVERY SINGLE BREAK. It’s as if he thinks it’s a tv show and people are going to be randomly tuning in and out. Like hey guys, don’t leave your couch yet, we have these exciting things coming right up! And then welcome back! This is the Locked On Steelers Podcast, follow us here and there and btw I have this guest on today. And I’m just like what? It’s a podcast, nobody is randomly tuning in halfway through the show. We know who you are, what the podcast is, and who the guest is. Nobody is going to turn the podcast off after one segment, you don’t have to tell them the next exciting topic to keep them listening. Put the topic(s) in the title or description, if people listen, then they must have wanted to hear about those topics when they pushed play and the topics don’t need announced after that. Interject ads later. Literally EVERY other podcast has this figured out. Literally at least 1/3+ of the podcast is ads/outros/intros and it makes the entire podcast feel so disjointed and not smooth AT ALL. By the time you do the outro, music transition, ads, intro, the flow is gone. So even skipping the ads doesn’t fix the issue because the flow of conversation just isn’t there. He even does some ad reads live with the guest right there…it’s awkward and again, interrupts the entire conversation flow. It’s such an easy fix, do what the other podcasts do. Do your podcast, keep your flow, don’t even think about ads. Switch topics whenever it feels good/natural. Interject ads later. And they don’t have to be perfectly between topics. And you don’t have to have three topics an episode, you can have one or five or whatever. Just talk naturally. You can record yourself reading an ad and then put it into the podcast after so that the guest doesn’t have to wait and so that it doesn’t interrupt the flow. Even when you don’t have a guest it messes with your flow. So read the ads later and then add it in after, no intro or outro needed. I get that maybe you think it may be jarring to randomly plop in an ad, but it’s more jarring to mess up the entire flow of conversation. So to summarize, the amount of ads may be high, but I’d be perfectly ok with them as long as they were added after the fact and didn’t have outros/intros/music transitions. Podcasts at their highest form are smooth flowing conversation or discussion with natural shifts with no interruptions to flow. The random ads added in, are expected nowadays and don’t need transitions of any sort. Try to add them after a sentence is done, but other than that, no big deal.
