Chapps is the man Feits is alright I suppose

Being raised Catholic, today’s episode really hit home. As a growing boy, nothing pushed me further from the Church than the fact that guys running the show couldn’t spend time with a nice lady (or a man) (and the little boys thing). HOWEVER the church being in a nice suburb meant the house out back for the priests was quite nice. There were also usually several different priests either in training or taking over the lesser, weekday masses, so it was probably just goofin’ with fellas in a nice pad. However (pt. 2) our main priest has gotten a DUI and came out pretty vehemently against BLM at the beginning of the pandemic…not goofin’. I say all of this to say my friend used to have to go home early on weekends because his parents hosted that same priest for dinner, wine, and cigars and thinking about that still makes me chuckle.

Feits and Chaps play off each other great. Love this show

I am a longtime stoolie and was brought up Catholic but have the same amount of knowledge as John related to the Bible. Love hearing Chaps’s knowledge on the subject and Feit’s curiosity keeps it very interesting

Uncle Chaps was born in a coal camp in Appalachia, the child of a West Virginia coal miner who was killed in the mines, a Rosie the Riveter mother, and devout Pentecostal grandparents. His tales of hobnobbing with gypsies, moonshiners, snake handlers, hobos, and faith healers, are legendary. A longtime resident of San Antonio , he lives with his cat and a neurotic cat that takes after him. His wife is mostly normal.

Unbelievable content. Learned more about religion in 3 episodes than I did in my 50 years of life. Hilarious

I grew up with zero teachings of religion, absolutely zero. This podcast is one of my favorites I’ve listened to recently and I can’t think of two better people to teach me about the Bible.

I always imagined a movie about Johnny Boys life with his stories would be (prob *TAKEN* as fiction, but we can fact check) however, ‪Feits n Kevin actually said whoever John’s friend was, was deserving of a movie.. JOHN said this.. so if we took John and his friend and made a movie about their lives A: what kind of movie would it be? Real raw doc? Buddy cop? (Prob not, just suggesting a genre) And would anyone believe it?‬
