The Studio Demands It!

34

Two screenwriters attempt to recreate, reimagine, or flat out fix, existing film franchises when 'the studio' demands...MORE FILMS! It's an exercise in creative thinking where they will challenge themselves to conceptualize, pitch, and craft a film based on the stipulations of a hypothetical Hollywood overlord. | Sixfive Media

    I got immediately addicted.
Such a fun show. There are a handful of podcasts out there like this, where the hosts outline a movie on the fly. But these guys do a really great job with their storycraft. It’s probably hokey to say it, but I really wish I could see some of these movies that these guys come up with. (Rocketeer 2 and Alien: Frontier in particular.) And even if the movie idea isn’t a home run, it’s still a fun exercise and there’s a lot of laughs along the way. Whether you binge it straight through or just cherry pick the episodes, it’s a great podcast for any movie fan.

    So fun!
This show is a hoot. It's like the conversations you have after you watch a movie, but with professionals. I find myself wanting to call them and tell them my ideas! Never post your phone numbers, your voice mail is toast if you do!

    An amazing podcast in storytelling.
I started listening regularly after listening to the Justice League 1995 episode. I went back to catch myself up, and I’ve loved it ever since. Though I may not agree with TC and Jim on their stances on the DCEU, I always respect their beliefs and would never tell them differently. The biggest joy I’ve gotten so far is the utter shock I had when I heard them say my name for the “The Successful DCEU” episode in season 3. I never thought a “demand” I had would be heard, but it was, while also getting mashed together with St-Eve’s “demand” as well. That was a thought exercise I would try, and I’m so happy that theirs is not exactly like mine because where’s the fun in that. Overall, this is a fantastic show that goes through the screenwriter’s process, and I honestly hope that one day this could get them to write for Marvel, Disney, DC, or Warner Bros for a big budget film. I love this show so much. Now, all I gotta do is hope that they do one of my other two “demands” I sent in. Probably won’t happen, but you never know.

This podcast is everything I like about writing. I found this and immediately stopped by other podcasts to listen and breezed through season 1. The relationship between TC and Jim and putting their brains together to come up with awesome hypothetical movies is a lot of fun and inspiring. This is THE podcast for writers, creators, people who like movies, and everyone else in between.

    Too good for words
Full of creative, fun, and interesting conversations. One of my favorite podcasts. The show is so good but there aren’t good enough words to describe it. Fun interesting entertaining and other words are too overused to describe the show it’s essentially better than what can be put into words just watch the show and you’ll see what I mean.

    A lot of fun!
Interesting conversations about hypothetical movies, i would like to see. Especially like the Face/Off episode with the excellent Sean Connery accent!

    Handsome and Delightful
I may be biased, but I quite enjoy this show. I recommend it to anyone who fancies themselves a screenwriter.
