Giles Coren Has No Idea

Each week Giles Coren finds himself with no idea what to write about in his weekly column. Having read all the papers and found nothing of interest whatsoever, he takes a break and does the school run. That’s where his wife and fellow journalist Esther Walker comes in. Upon his return, Esther has half a dozen ideas she’s spotted ready to knock around with him over the kitchen table and a much needed pot of coffee.

Casual Sexism Ruins the Party

Found Giles through supersizers years ago and thought he was fun and charming, was thrilled to see he had a podcast. I really wanted to like this but the smug, flippant way he talks about women’s rights issues as if they’re an annoying trend is really, really disappointing. If he was being casually racist or homophobic, he wouldn’t be allowed to air, but snark towards women is apparently completely fair game at the Times.

Wit like THAT.

I watched “The Supersizers Go/Eat...” on Hulu like, almost 10 years ago and I tried to find it again, because it was interesting and amusing and I wanted to re-experience a bit of that, but it’s been retired from that platform. I found a couple of eps on YouTube and watched them the other night and rediscovered how matter-of-fact hilarious Giles is! I’m sitting here at work, desperate for something amusing to listen to while I work my soul-crushing job, so I did a random search on him and found this podcast. Pure gold. Giles is razor-sharp and his wife eggs him on. Hilarious! Also, if you listen to this on .5x, the sound off their faces. Lol.

Podcast achieves the impossible

Giles Coran is so beautiful to look at, this podcast does the impossible - it’s makes him even better looking ....because his personality is just as sexy. Have to say, while I wish I was his husband, his wife sounds hysterical and a perfect counterbalance to him. *For those of you who don’t find him attractive, it is a brilliant podcast with wonderful commentary on a multitude of topics.
