This is more than a podcast. It’s a voice for victims. While many news outlets barely highlight how mothers are affected, this podcast not only shines light on them but provides a whole stage and audience.

This series is shining a light and giving a voice to the victims and families of atrocities that occur from gun violence everyday in black, brown and Latino communities across the country. It’s absolutely chilling to hear these kinds of recollections from the perspective of a mom whose had to endure such pain. As a parent there’s nothing more frightening than thought of losing a child. I commend mom for having the strength to share her story in an effort to extend her child’s legacy and stem further violence. I also commend the creators of this podcast for demonstrating a level of empathy and humility that allows for a safe space and platform for these voices to be heard. It’s my hope that through these kinds of efforts, more will listen, that our communities become more united and that our leaders continue the discussion and fight around guns and gun violence.

I can’t believe how this puts me in their shoes at the moment. Very emotional and sad that these mothers have to live with this pain. I 🙏🏿 that they get the closure they need.
