BylongytrsvhhGreat informationI absolutely love this show. Tim is SO knowledgeable. But…..Tim, when I listen to the rhythm of your speech, it’s like trying to teach a teenage girl how to drive a stick shift. You take pauses in the most inopportune places.
-
hotchameleonSo informativeI have loved these videos forever and, in doing some research on a biblical theme, found that they have a podcast too! Really well done, informative, I would recommend this podcast to anyone.

Angela Busy MomTwo guys and a storyThe Bible is the greatest story ever written. Jon and Tim talk , and talk and talk it over and we are lucky enough to eavesdrop on these knowledgeable, insightful, sometimes kooky conversations. Thanks, guys. Please never stop.

cjgiulSO MUCH GIVEN HEREI’ve been listening to Bible Project for years. I learn so much from all the discussions and enjoy the depth of knowledge offered. I love that it’s all listener supported and appropriate for all ages and helps new believers and aged believers alike. I really enjoy the fun they seem to have over there too. It’s very inviting. 🙂

Cait O’NeillA blessingThis podcast is a true blessing. I have a two hour ride each way to work. This podcast allows me to have a Bible study in my car as I’m driving to work learn and grow closer to the Lord. . This park has been a huge game changer in my life learning more and more each time I turn it on and inspiring me to open up my Bible and read it more often take my time do word, searches on each thing and ask questions. I love how knowledgeable all the hosts are and every single person that works on the BibleProject is I love all the notes that come along with the courses that they discuss, and all the resources that are available to you through the Bible project.

Ramrod!!!!!!!!!!!OutstandingThe team at Bible Project is amazing. Their ability to unpack the themes of the Bible and show the connections to help us shift away from a western viewpoint approach is truly remarkable.

B B DennisonSimply Profound!I first stumbled upon the BibleProject content via the short illustrated videos when a friend suggested that their podcasts were her favorite. What a tremendous gift that conversation was! I’ve been listening to the podcasts now for the past 3 years or so and look forward to the new release every week, especially with the focus on the Sermon on the Mount, and then within that series, the 5 episodes on the Our Father gave me a deep appreciation for a prayer that I thought I knew. This podcast series has given me a better understanding of the Hebrew Bible and how it all fits into one interwoven story that leads to Jesus. Thanks to the entire BibleProject team as my life has been enriched by your works.

Taylor Loves CatsGet Ready to Transform Your Relationship with God!This podcast, the in app Torah Reading Journey, the One Year Bible Reading plan, their videos, and the classes have transformed my relationship with God and the Bible! I am so thankful to the Youversion app for reminding about The Bible Project one year ago and for the incredible resource the BP team has created since 2014. The podcast episodes give you a chance to really dig deep into God’s word. They are what started in me a deep curiosity and excitement for reading the Bible and the Holy Spirit does the rest! I think my new dream job is to work at the Bible Project!

chubby bakerNoisy and confusingThis podcast suffers by wasting time at the beginning back-and-forth, each person finishing the sentence of the other, woman is more masculine than both, effeminate males. Do not listen to this podcast. They waste too much time.
-
kinsleygrAmazing resource!Such quality biblical content! I love the thoughtful analysis. Jon questions things from all angles, and Tim responds with such amazing depth. These two and their team are such a gift! Thanks for doing such meaningful Kingdom work.

_Son_of_God_GoodNothing else really to say. It’s just really good.👍🏻

cassjosLife-changingThe Bible Project helps to explain the Bible in a way that is so deep and spiritual but in easy to understand words. I am so grateful for this project and those who have made it possible!

k723849If you’re new here…If you started listening in 2024 during the Sermon on the Mount series and you’re not into it, I would highly recommend trying out earlier episodes. The format, tone, content, and types of conversations in the SotM series is very different from their usual. I noticed a listener said they really didn’t get anything deep from the SotM section they listened to, and I totally get that. So if you’re new and curious about past episodes, some of my personal favorites are “The Character of God” series and “Taking God’s Name in Vain? With Dr. Carmen Imes”.

purdyworkThanksAs soon as you started in Matthew all the rest of your studies came to life in such a spectacular way! Thank you, for your faithfulness.

ahlyveaFor those who say the questions are never answeredThis review section is a good example of Mathew 13:9. “He who has ears, let him hear”. Not only does Tim Mackie expound on scripture but then Jon reiterates it in a more common way. The wisdom found in these conversations is extremely enlightening, wow. The Bible project/Tim Mackie has answered SO many questions. You two are a gift. Thank you!!
-
pdmiller408Prefer the uncut versionsI get so much out of these conversations between John and Tim! Makes me think about what I believe and have been taught in the past. I prefer the uncut versions of their conversations because I can follow their thought process through. In the edited version I miss out on how they got to their conclusions.
-
booksuperfanFantastic!Bible project podcast series are the best! So much in depth information. I look forward to a new podcast each week! Thank you for an amazing resource that makes the Bible so relevant to today.
-
hannah lepHad to chime in my thoughtsI saw a review that said the hosts don’t answer the questions directly. I think when they do not answer it’s intentional! I believe there to be far more nuance than we realize in scripture. They seem very genuine and hold an open opinion when needed .i find this podcast is filled with humility and curiosity to the Bible and that is my favorite thing about it! ❤️

bjz0tnsIncredible insights and teachingsI have been a Bema Discipleship podcast listener for a couple of years but wanted to continue to learn from more people. This Bible Project podcast and videos were mentioned many times in the Bema podcasts to be great sources of information. Now I see why. These guys answer tough questions and concepts with grace and clarity. I have loved everything that I have heard to date and can't wait to hear all they have to say.

L Boogie 724Lots of words - but no pointI really wanted to like this podcast but I continue to walk away from episodes, or stop listening in the middle because I’m never actually learning anything about the Bible! An excessive amount of time is spent dissecting the literal translation of each and every word in multiple languages that the entire discussion becomes about interpretation and not the actual biblical topic. I understand the interpretations are important, but I very seldom walk away lifted by the actual Word.
-
Joey SasongkoLargely good on explaining the BibleThe Bible Project is good at exploring numerous topics concerning the Christian Bible and Christian Theology, and adding nuances whenever necessary (though sometimes they aren’t good at this, see below). The hosts are, however, very talkative and usually don’t answer a question from a questioner directly. They also lack nuances on some topics, but I don’t think it’s often as far as I can remember. Besides that, I don’t have any real complaints. Thanks for reading this, and may God bless you!

herains08Deep DivesI love listening to these deep dives on various Biblical topics while I work. It has helped me better understand how intentional the Biblical authors were when they were putting together the Bible which is so cool to learn more about! I am going through from the beginning and working on getting caught up to the more recent episodes. I love how much knowledge that Tim brings to the table and how John asks all the questions that I’m thinking and summarizes things in a way that is easy to understand. Thank you for all that y’all do to put these together!

1992 LarsenContent interesting- Interactive hosts can be annoyingThe constant feedback of the “listening” host with the “yea” “um” “yes, yes” “right” gets very annoying. The host not doing the primary talking should be quiet!! Don’t give active feedback after each comment.

yoummooo“Q&R” today June 17, 2024they just chat a word salad. no answers. but they use a lot of words. meaningless, jibber jabber. i think they just like hearing themselves talk. you won’t find them ever answering a question directly. but their videos are great.

newportbellsBiblical accuracyI have listen, loved and financially supported The Bible Project for years... that said I am deeply concerned with my favorite "bible nerd" Tim continuing to label the land in Jesus day- through the 'Sermon on the Mount' series as Palestine. That is factually INCORRECT. I have emailed the show repeatedly only to receive a form letter responses. It is a shame that this wonderful organization doesn't seem to care about alternative opinions. Furthermore, the "non-violence" at all costs for Christians as a mandate from Jesus is an opinion I do not share. I hope Tim and Jon never face an intruder with a weapon threatening their wife and/or kids....context matters. This passive approach is how the Christian communities in these United States have failed. Now we are in an absolute mess. We are to be a light, live in God's truth and rebuke non biblical behavior- in love but stand firmly against it all the same. WE ARE CALLED TO BE ACTIVE.

BellarafahForgivenessI have a story of forgiveness in my own life which over the years I have told and have discovered in the telling that with Jesus, there is no formula. He asks us to forgive regardless of the relationship after and in spite of the fact that the other person never apologizes or repents. And if we do that, we are free of the burden of their sin. I love how you guys are not weakening the argument that we are called to forgive—no matter what. Because that is where the power is.I hear so many people just trying to say that Jesus didn’t mean it in certain situations, or in my situation. Great podcast!
-
ALCP29Thought Provoking and Deep!If you want a deep dive into the Bible, biblical themes, and Jesus - this Podcast will take you there! I just listened to the Tree of Life series and the theme of the tree throughout the Bible is mind-blowing! I loved the Bible Project Videos, but this Podcast takes it even deeper! A must listen!
-
KSmith1010ForgivenessThis week’s episode has me reflecting on how daily forgiveness is as essential for our life in the current age as bread or food is for our bodies
-
nerdy_shamwowHigh quality nuanced discussionsIt makes me think of topics that have not entered my mind 🤍

Leah188Great podcastI really appreciate what you guys do! I have learned so much about the bible and i feel like i think more deeply now when i study the word. I loved the dragon series. I wont lie, i really miss when it was just you two who talked and shared your thoughts and ideas. Im not a big fan of the additions of others in the podcast now. I wouldn't mind guest speakers but i dont love this back and forth between you guys and others. I hope you guys go back to how it used to be soon.

GfsfvhjgdvgxfGreatExcellent sound quality. Engaging. Thought provoking. Not imposing. The accompanying videos are also great. Update: 5/13/24 I still very much love this podcast. Has carried me through some rough times, and helped me foundationally change my relationship with the bible. I appreciate it so much more now. That said, I am not a fan of their recent change. I’m glad for them that they get to switch stuff up, and get more creative with music, sound design, editing, structure, etc. but it gets a bit distracting. And it starts to stray too far from their formula which I’ve loved and appreciated for years. They have, historically, largely avoided giving much personal commentary on scripture, telling people what to believe about it, or turning into a soft inspirational show. It is starting to nudge down those paths. I certainly appreciate new and varied voices (something the show has lacked, outside of their interviews, which kind of fell off the last couple years). But some of these “detours” they’ve taken with guests on this run have been disconnected, superfluous, or distracting. There was something refreshing about digging into the depths of the written scripture, its structure, context, themes, without pushing a christian “brand” or trying to give me an emotional pat on the back. I realize how this sounds. And maybe I’m a grumpy old man upset that they rearranged my favorite grocery store. I mean no disrespect, and I’m proud of you guys for stretching your boundaries. Just giving some feedback.

SingSum2The best non-denominational teaching I’ve foundI really appreciate the approach the Bible project team takes with their content. It’s contextual and historical which leads to accuracy and truth. And I never feel emotionally manipulated or pushed to believe a certain theological ideology. It’s refreshing and thought provoking. Thank you, for the hard work.
-
ranby rudeFive stars for effortVery dry biblical teaching. They are non stop with the themes found in the Bible and it really isn't all that edifying to find patters in the Bible.
-
travelingdameGreat podcast! 👍👍So much great information, which makes it easier to understand the Bible!
-
Katie_AndromedaM31Context, language, informationThere is so much knowledge in this podcast. Thank you for the informative, open discussion. Context of who wrote what and why is important. Listening to this podcast is helping me feel closer to the authentic Jesus. Many thanks!
