Just finished season 2 and I’m liking it overall. It has good voice acting and storytelling. The pacing is quite strong. I like the concept of interconnected smaller stories, since each season is its own story, and so far it’s pulling it off well. However. Characters often make leaps of logic or in their character arcs, and the antagonists have evil voices, which I’m not fond of. There are also so many ads it’s hard to want to pick the podcast up, knowing I’ll be spending so much of my time skipping through the ads.

The Orphans is my favorite podcast and I’m always excited to see new content. Excellent sound quality, amazing voice acting and engaging storytelling. Keep up the great work!

If u like action, suspense, syfy ect… then give this a try, I am so glad I found it and listened, acting, writing and sound effects are great, I am only a few shows and felt the need to comment. GIVE IT A LISTEN, u won’t b disappointed

However season 4 and 5 exists only to provide snippets into the story and to collect ad revenue. Beware, commercials and asking for patrons make up a good amount of those “episodes”. I am giving 4 over my gut of 3 stars as it is a good story but falls flat, hopefully it will return to add to the world.

It’s a SciFi clone story exploring individualism via characters who show us their whole heart. Likability, charm. That’s what draws me in. It’s also a slow burn mystery, where resolutions feel perpetually postponed. And lots of very bad things happen. Who is getting the worst of it? Why? There are pretty direct and depressing parallels to reality. Sometimes it hard to get your bearings between scenes. The sound design is interesting and appropriate to the story, with great musical elements. But it is also very hard to find a good way to listen. There are lots of painful volume shifts and piercing harsh noises, with voices altered in ways that make your ears tire very fast. That’s all relevant to the plot & setting, but it’s difficult to experience. Earphones are out because of the volume shifts, but even on speakers the harsh sounds become too painful, so you have to be ready to mute/adjust in an instant. Luckily, episodes are pretty short, so working through each one in spare moments is possible. It’s just a bit hard to listen clear through in one sitting.

There would be no show without the creator so please speak for yourself there is no we here. The show can from the creators mind obviously and I love the show and the creator awesome job!!!!!

Like all podcasts that start out the creator makes the mistake of thinking folks need to hear him ramble on. We love the show, not YOU! Great show, season 2 starts a bit slow and plods along compared to season one but.... it’s worth it to push through.

Fantastic writing, excellent voice acting. I’m not usually a sci-fi fan because I hate hate heavy-handed exposition. But the writing cleverly skirts that issue plus provides compelling personality and growth for each of the characters. I also love the short, tight episodes and that each season has a central arc/mystery, with politics, history, and a few characters that interconnect them.

Orphans is the kind of sci-fi I crave. I can’t wait to keep listening!

Only on episode two but enjoying every element of this podcast. The acting and sound effects make me feel like I am there. The storyline is intriguing and unique. The character’s personalities are distinct and witty.

Just stopping in to say I’m excited to see remastered versions go live. I already loved the show the first time around and didn’t need an excuse to listen to it for the… sixth time… but here we are!

We turned it on & we couldn’t tune out. Between the action sequences, executed with deft narration and sfx, and the long con character build. We didn’t stop at season one.

Got to episode 7 before I finally gave up on it. Maybe it gets better? Hopefully. It’s certainly not.by episode 7.

I really enjoyed this series and binged it in a few days. The storyline was really interesting and captivating. I felt fully immersed. The voice acting was top notch. I’ve listened to one too many podcasts where the actors sounded like they were only reading, which can be grating. I loved all of the characters, even impetuous Richard! I highly recommend it.

I love this series and how it transforms from space Lord of the Flies to a cooler version of the Star Wars Republic Commando Extended universe, before they retconned it. Excited to see where it goes next!

Please please PLEASE go listen to this show! It has so much mystery and debth that leaves you begging for more! I was instantly hooked on episode one and binged the entire series in two weeks. The characters have so much life and I want to protect them all!!!!

This show is gripping, well acted and well plotted. I love these types of podcasts, large cast fiction audio dramas. Many of them are decent, most are amateur at best. The Orphans is one of the best. It and “The Phenomenon” are on par with each other and sit just below “We’re Alive” as far as quality of acting, story, script, and characterization. I’m loving it.

Each new season expands the universe and introduces the listener to new yet familiar characters. Excellent show that will keep you coming back for more.

This show is great quality from top to bottom. The acting, writing, production, and sound design are all fantastic. The story is a gripping sci-fi drama that starts small and unfolds into a wider, darker universe. I can't recommend this show enough.

Lazy writing that uses women’s pain to advance men’s stories

I like the multiple narrators in this show, which allow us to see the world and have the experiences through different perspectives!

Aside from being a fascinating story that features excellently executed variations on scifi as a genre in each season, The Orphans is in a class all its own when it cones to production values. This is a show you’ll not only want to listen to, but listen to closely with headphones on, just so you can hear what good sound design can add to a story and a fictional universe.

I got into The Facility before listening to the original. Great stuff!

This is a very captivating podcast. The turn it took was extremely unexpected. There were several times I gasped in surprise. I’m looking forward to season two. The only criticism I can offer is that too often the sound is extremely low, requiring earbuds instead of my Bluetooth speaker or even just playing from my phone.

I heard of this show because of the Nerdy Network, and I was blown away. Fantastic writing, recording, story...everything! Thank you!

Well acted and scripted. The plot was great and had a a nice little twist at the end that I hadn't seen coming. Definitely great to binge listen to! Give it a shot if you like sci-fi and audio dramas!

The Orphans starts with the familiar concept of a group of people waking up with amnesia in a dangerous environment. However, this story succeeds where others often fail. There are actual answers for all the weird things going on! The acting is great, the sound design is fantastic, but the story is what kept bringing me back for more.
