Zeke90000OkSome good guests and rob seems like a nice guy but it can be a snooze fest. Often it’s just sterile interview questions with minimal engagement from the host, kind of like listening to a job interview. Ten Junk Miles is a much more engaging listen.
-
Chris MottolaSlow narcissistic hostOne of the slowest “runners” in human history. Self obsessed and completely delusional.
-
B. Rains.Great Guy, Great PodcastI love listening to Robs show. I’ve been a on and off lister for a few years and he has some great content.
-
Iloverunning2016FormatThings changed with TFU format. So clumsy/odd to have advertisements smacked in the middle of an interview. No Segway- just pasted in the middle of people talking. Rob has always been so polished- I don’t get it
-
SephorafanNatalie Eva MarieLove the episode with Natalie Eva Marie💗it’s always fun to hear how people find out about ultras & are either“one & done”or “hooked”& already looking for the next race...
-
KP_KellyGreat Podcast for anyone Interested in UltraRunningI’ve struggled to find decent running specific podcasts, especially ultra running related, stumbled upon this one and it certainly fills a void in the space. I’ve listened to several episodes. Great, wide-ranging, guests. Good blend of (semi) formal interview, entertaining story telling, and educational aspects.

__dance__A great listen!Love this podcast and listening to all the meaningful conversations with each guest that joins.

Sk8rsherman13Love ItMy brother runs the AC 100 out here in so cal and I train with him. We’d talk doing hills and what not. I had no idea there was such a big community behind ultra running. Somehow I stumbled onto this podcast looking for insight. I love it. I listen to it in traffic and while running. I love the people rob interviews and the stories they tell. I’ve signed up for 50ks and 50s. Still working towards that 1st hundred. Soon.

CurlyCidSuch a good humanRob loves doing these podcasts and he loves seeing what it does for the community. I remember when I first met him, he made me (a young, inexperienced but passionate runner, charging hard already) feel like I was going to do amazing things. I was surprised, I didn’t know him, I hadn’t listened to his podcast. He just wanted me, a stranger, to feel good and pursue what I loved doing. As time passed and I kept seeing this guy lifting complete strangers, sending positive words and genuine love throughout communities. Rob is just a really good guy, and his podcast is for everyone, everywhere. He knows his stuff, he has the experience and the grit. You will get something out of it.

LandonWorrellThe one star crew!I got a huge kick out of reading the reviews of people who left one or two stars, all the reasons they hate him, are all the reasons I love the podcast. Rob is so unique, realistic, and honest in every episode. I listen to 6 or 8 different ultra running podcasts and “Training for Ultra” is my favourite. It’s genuine, immersive, and honestly meditative when Rob talks about his passions. The guests are amazing and always seem like they are having actual fun during the interviews. Rob has such a big heart, and he’s one of the people in the community that makes my running journey so much more enjoyable, especially the race recap episodes!

Deiterman1Wanted to like it.I really wanted to like this podcast. I am just not a fan, his voice is not my favorite. With that I understand we have to work with what we are given. Maybe some broadcast lessons could come in handy. I purchased the book on Audiobooks, reading the description not listening to the excerpt. Immediately when I heard his voice I said to myself“ Crap! “ I had it for several months trying to listen to it’s many contradictions. My main one is where Rob talks about reducing the amount of stuff and objects in his life to live more simpler. But all he can talk about on his podcast is his sponsors and all the great stuff they give him, or how he has to have this jacket or these socks, and the rant about running underwear. He didn’t know how he was going to race without them! What the heck is running underwear. Nobody needs that! After listening to the Podcast I decided Rob is the guy who shows up to the start line with $5000. Worth of stuff strapped to his body. And would love to take ultra running and have it mock the ways of NASCAR. That’s definitely never been what it is about. I’m glad he is able to make some money off his excursions. But dude less is more!
-
trailrunner5774InsufferableUsed to be a good podcast until the host became 100% self absorbed. Guy think he’s an elite ultra runner despite being a mid packer at best
-
BrShOmToo much “like” and obsessed with GogginsThis is a tricky one, while I have found a lot of inspiration in some of the episodes, I do find it difficult to listen to because of the amount of “like’s” and “a’s” and “um.” He also gets on weird tangents and he rides his own di** a lot.. also Goggin’s. He is OBSESSED with Goggins. Having a one time interaction with the dude doesn’t mean you two are going to race across America, he doesn’t have time for that. Also obsessed with hallucinating. A bit of fine tuning and research about his guests would go a far way. It’s pretty wild to see how far he has come.

CALIENTEPOCKETDive right in!I recently took a dive into ultrarunning after running a trail 12k. I was happy to find a Podcast hosted by someone who started from the same place I did! I appreciate that Rob has such a variety of guests, covers so many topics, and is always open and honest with his listeners. Great podcast for ultrarunners at every level!

Marco-T.Best Possible Running Podcast?I’ve yet to find a better source of information, inspiration, and enjoyment from any other running podcast. Rob’s love for the sport is tremendous and he presents a view on the sport, the middle of the pack, that is rarely seen by many. He’s the hero for most of us ultra runners who simply love the sport and want to challenge ourselves. I LOVE this podcast and tune in every chance I get. Thank you Rob!
-
SAI del MarExcellent podcast!I’ve been training for a 50miler and this podcast has been a fantastic source of information. Thank you for teaching me so much and for keeping me company during the long runs on the trails! Highly recommended!!
-
Hunter VAThe BestWithout a doubt my favorite ultra running podcast. There is something both comforting and intriguing in hearing the stories and experiences that Rob and his guests bring to the table.
-
CBrownATCPractice what he preachesHis guests all bring something different to the conversation. He asks thought-provoking questions that make the listener think. Well done and keep it up.

stphsmthLove this podcast!I started listening to Rob’s podcast before my first ultra, and it instantly became one that I never miss. I appreciate his humility and his passion to inspire others through personal accounts and interviews.

Tatood1First 50kExcellent podcast!!! I’ve been throwing around the idea of running a 50k. So naturally I searched for races in my area. Looks like I’m targeting kettle moraine 50k in 2020. I’ll be finishing my current year with a 1/2 marathon and spartan race. Then I will buckle down and train for the ultra. Just listening to your podcast and hearing your story has motivated me and given me the confidence that I can complete the race. Keep up the great work!!
-
Eric12984Go-to Podcast for everything UltraAs an aspiring ultra runner this is my go to for truly understanding the sport. Rob provides you his detailed personal journey with a lineup of world class athletes. Great podcast to keep you motivated on long training runs and inspire across the board.

Clark [dying.2.self]Inspirational and InformativeI just recently discovered this podcast. I came to running late in life and my longest run so far is a mere 20k, but I have aspirations to someday go longer. The interviews Rob conducts on this podcast are inspiring and informative. I’ve listened to 5 back episodes in the last three days!
-
EnduranceEmilyGreat PodcastThis podcast is great, not only because of the content, but because Rob truly takes interest in the listeners and is always looking for ways to improve. Over the various podcast episodes, he has made some changes, which means he is likely reading these comments and taking the listeners feedback seriously. The people he brings on the podcast have a lot of insight to share, and even though some of them have been on other podcasts or interviews elsewhere on the internet, he tries to highlight a different perspective or aspect of the persons life. I can tell he is really invested in producing a prodcast that has value for the listener, and I they are a great way to pass the time on your commute or doing strength work at the gym.

RunMickey1Just OK, Great GuestsI've been listening a few months now. I want to have a game and drink every time he says "like" but I'd get wasted in 5 minutes. It's as if he is a teenage girl. Annoying to the point of wanting to unsubscribe but he gets really good guests! Now while taking to the guests I feel like they are as sleepy as I am listening to him go on and on about his own experience, but again, the guest is usually very interesting. It's nice to hear from the middle of the pack. Just wish he could inject some energy, and stop saying "like" as well as "you know" so stinking much.

#2coolMust listenNo matter if you are an ultra runner, training for your first ultra, or just a casual runner, you get inspired. I am Training for my first Ultra in Mohican this spring, the more I listen to Rob and his guests the more I am getting jacked to do this to see what I am capable of. So thanks for doing this Rob! this podcast really is so motivating and Rob’s book is killer also.
-
RunDogMomRunA weekly must!I’ve been gearing up to run my first ultra for almost two years now. As someone who loves being active but has ZERO natural talent I appreciate Rob’s perspective. Listening to his podcasts in the car with my husband has also gotten the hubby pumped about running ultras too! What a bonus :)

redgbxxeficxhiofoxvvjvkxiLove this podcast! For sure one of my favorite podcasts! He is such a real person, you can’t help but root for him!
-
JRL2012Great podcastGreat interviews with a conversational tone. I am about 10 episodes in and so far so good. Keep up the good fight Rob. Making content is hard work.

-
Curly Runner GirlGreat InfoMy new favorite podcast!
-
Paobu_R_ElkinsGood contentPodcasts are frequent and well organized
-
b55smithListen if you can't find the same guest on another podcastContent could be reduced by 50% if the commercials were cut back and the host didn't spend so much time discussing his own races. Interviews are only okay if you can get past the host constantly trying to compare his personal experiences with those of the guest.
-
13alexuhGood Insight and GuestsKeep doing what you’re doing! I look forward to your podcast every week. I am 27 and training for my first 100. I have been running competitively since I was 11, but I am still definitely learning lots!
-
robpxpxGreat ShowThanks for creating this podcast. I listen to it almost every day.
-
TriciaMillergreat guests, host leaves a bit to be desiredHost is really hard to listen to...talks slow and just not a very dynamic speaker, talks about himself too much. The best podcasts are about the guests, not the host. He gets great guests though!
-
Traildawg92Batter and BetterEvery show seems to be getting better each and every week.. keep up the great work Rob!
-
SeanDonachyJust a great podcastOf all the podcasts out there I listen to Rob’s the most. So down to earth and asks the questions that any of us would given the chance. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
-
halcyonnwarGreat listenInformative and a fun listen. Has helped me build confidence to sign up for trail races. The episode about the cyclist who was injured in a bike accident and went on to become an ultra runner was really inspiring!
-
JavakittyctGreat resourceAs a newbie to the ultra world I really enjoy listening to Rob’s journey and the knowledgeable guests he has on. Loved the episode with Tommy Puzey - his insight into running in the flow and “Burning through the noise” is perfection! These podcasts are a great running companion.
-
Josh PantleoQuality podcastA great podcast with great guest, good topics and very informative.
-
Ward in ATLCommercialLoved the guests and the subject, but lately it has become a long commercial for his sponsors. Have to unsubscribe.
