    Taylor bonus in “Kompensa”.
Remember that Michael Milken (the junk bond king) in late 80’s received a $500 Million bonus. Drexel Burnham Lambert told WSJ that he generated $5 Billion in earnings that year and 10% of that was reasonable bonus. Thus Taylor referring to less than 10% of Axe Capital’s net earnings being reasonable was in line with Wall Street thinking

    Eh
Needs to talk about the stories more and the writing more. They just like talking about behind the scenes stuff that no one cares about (like how great the boom operator is...)

the show is fine, often intelligently written and witty.; however, the podcast is abysmal, a long exercise in self-aggrandizement. So disappointed. How about some critical anaylsis, some dicussion over controversial or provocative plot and/or character development. Sharing the difficulties filming more intersting than everyone and everything masterfully crushing it. Brian, you sound like Clyde using three adjectives for a simple drive into the paint. C'mon, you're a Dylan fan.

Billions is awesome....but there’s only one beat podcast guest
Billions is my favorite show right now, but we need some Dan Soder on this podcast

    Stop this podcast
I get the idea of having show runners go over their show should be appealing. But guess what, it doesn’t work. No one cares about the process of a show, maybe some film school kids, but no one looking to be entertained. Just talk about the episode the characters, and the story in the billion’s universe, how it interacts with real world, pop culture references, etc. Make it fun, this listen is anything but.

    Billions
I thoroughly enjoy the Billions podcasts, done by their show runners. Yes, it is nerdy and very inside stuff, but as someone who has enjoyed each and every episode of all five seasons, I find it fascinating and educational on many levels. I really hope that the show runners don’t get discouraged by some of the negative reviews that are out there, knowing that there are intelligent, perceptive viewers who very much appreciate an inside look into the entire project. Not what I am looking for.
Mad props to these guys for what they have accomplished, but this (mostly) is NOT the content I am looking for. Way too much inside baseball and minutiae that gets tiresome. How many times can we hear them wax poetic over a production assistant? I am sure these are great stories if you worked on the show, but not in this podcast. If you are going to keep this pod, please add back an additional Mallory Reuben, Sean Fennessy, et. al. style review. I want to hear more of the analysis of pop culture references and back stories about New York City.

    Not a Recappables
30 minutes of rub-up of the location manager, prop master, director and ourselves and then 30 minutes rub-up of a one of our new actors is not the activity of a recappables podcast. Point to the section that is a recappables in either of the two podcast? Either make it a recappables (get Mallory Rubin in there to hold their hands) or move it to another feed or I unscribe.

    Not good
Why would you stop doing every episode of billions. Makes no sense

Sound Only episodes about Neon Genesis Evangelion are amazing
Justin and Micah did a great job parsing, explaining, and just plain geeking out over this show. Hopefully, The Ringer gives them the green light to recap another classic like Cowboy Bebop.

    Anime deserves this
This is exactly the kind of coverage by a large media website that anime should have. Please do Cowboy Bebop next.

    Review of Sound Only
I’m gonna give Sound Only 5 stars because I want them to have the opportunity to do Cowboy Bebop. In reality it was a just okay. I liked it a lot more because there just are no anime podcasts. I was a bit appalled both the co-hosts watch the dubbed version. Not because of some subs superiority thing, but because they missed sooo much of the little intricacies of the dialogue that you only get from Japanese audio and their talented VAs. The recaps are also a bit uneven, some important points are often missed and they kind of go out of plot order. In all though, it is pretty fun to listen to a black culture take on anime.

Stranger Things 1 Star - most others 5 Stars
This recappables is pretty bad. Clearly the hosts don’t care for the show and have zero interest in it. I really wish they would have got some hits that experienced some of the ‘80’s. Not sure these hosts age but it’s seems like they were born in the late ‘90’s. Just wish you would have got a more engaging host.

I love the ringer podcasts but this one was horrible. If you’re going to do a series review, please next time find people who are at least fans of the show or know something about it. Very annoying! Alison was not a good pick for this, she was overly critical and it was clear she didn’t understand anything about what makes the show worthy of “recapping.” Very disappointed.

    Loved it!
Thank you for covering this epic classic anime. Enjoyed listening to both your interpretations and hope that you will continue to do more anime shows. I’m sure you guys will find ways to con Bill into doing more :)

This is my favorite podcast right now. I watched NGE on DVD when it was released and enjoyed it but didn’t ~~get it~~. Thanks to Justin and Micah I have a much deeper appreciation and love for the show. And these guys are hilarious. Also please let them do Cowboy Bebop.

    SOUND ONLY
Eva gave me a panic attack watching it on Adult Swim when i was twelve. Its an incredible and difficult show and I’m glad to see it back in the consciousness. Charity and Peters are great and Im excited for any anime content from them. I mean Devilman Crybaby is right there... its influence on Eva might be worth investigating. Congratulations!

    Great stuff
Love all the shows. Micah and Justin are an awesome duo, really looking forward to the rest of the Neon Genesis Evangelion material.

    Great GoT content
Zach and Riley are great on the GoT precaps! The Long Night precap was a masterpiece; even if most of their actual predictions were wrong, they really broke down the landscape, battle plans, etc. I hope they can violate the show's name and get a post-finale episode.

    Good and bad
I enjoy the Game of Thrones Precappables on Fridays but miss Billions. Season 3 recaps were so well done; this season has only recapped a few episodes and the new format is mediocre at best.
  • Jrmjr33
    Hard to “like”
This is hit or miss, depending on who is hosting. Too often hosts sound like simpletons by using “like” in every sentence. I really tried pushing past this as I love this concept and enjoy most of the shows being recapped, but it just became too much. What makes it more frustrating is there are so many good voices at The Ringer so they shouldn’t have to use people who are so poorly-spoken.

More The Bold Type & Younger
As usual Juliette and Amanda did an amazing job making me love a show I already loved even more. Would love to see more content on The Bold Type and Younger!

    BILLIONS?
Did we just decide to stop covering this show? I know you at The Ringer cannot dedicate BS & Mallory to each podcast they are busy enough with their own things but can we get someone on this here? It really would benefit from having Jason & Mal back on this one... BRING IT BACK or NO STARS FOR YOU!

I can’t take Alison Herman’s vocal fry. It’s the worst I’ve ever heard and makes podcast unlistenable.

    Great show but .....
I don’t know what happened to their take on the rest of the season ‘Billions ‘ . The episode listing seems inconsistent with finishing a season of a particular show . Love the show but I was only able to love it for one week .

    Billions
Seems like they would at least make a comment of why there is no more Billions Recappables but all we get is silence. Dissapointing. Like it never existed the way the Ringer is acting.

If only the Ringer took this show seriously
This show could be great if the Ringer would invest in it. The fact that we are now two weeks past the true detective conclusion and one episode into Billions and the artwork hasn’t changed says it all. (This made it hard to find the Billions recap on iTunes ) However, what really dooms this podcast is the inconsistent and subpar hosting for the Billions recappables. The worst part is it started out so well with Bill and Mallory and now we are subjected to a couple of hosts who aren’t entertaining, prepared, or competent enough to do the job. They routinely get things wrong and add very little. (Example oye oye is not something a judge would say, it’s Spanish for listen listen). I love Billions and really like the Ringer’s work, I just wish they would ditch the C team.

    Irritating and a bit empty
I made it about 15 minutes through a 25 minute show and I just couldn't listen anymore. Unfortunately I found the hosts to be a bit irritating both in the sound of their voices and the slightly smug tone of the content. And again, in that 15 minutes (more than half the show) it still felt like an intro. Nothing of value had been said. It feels like they're trying to fit the recording of this show in on a lunch break.

    Hey Now
I love the podcast . Everybody on the show is thoroughly knowledgeable, but Mallory takes it. Her intellect is superior, but her voice is somewhat annoying, her tone sometimes reminds me of chalk screeching on a black board. I like her takes, but I love her voice like I love head lice! Sorry Malory
  • Brad Plogsted
Alison Herman doesn’t fit the Billions vibe
The show is a white male fantasy (and I love it) so considering the podcast audience is probably similarly skewed, I don’t think Alison Herman is the right fit for host. Mallory Rubin is your best talent and I think could run the Ringer when Bill is done with it. She and any other male would be ideal hosts for this show.
