    Love this podcast!
I listen to many OT podcasts and this is my favorite one! The information that is put out is amazing! The host asks great questions to the interviewee. Such a great resource! Thank you! -from an OT student

i love all of the perspectives
I absolutely love this podcast. I appreciate the transparency of your guests. As we are a strength based profession, I feel like some of our negative experiences as practitioners are not spoken of. I’m a 2nd your MOT student and your podcast has inspired me to look beyond ‘typical’ practice settings! Also love that it’s well rounded and touches on so many topics!!! and love that you provide practitioners with a safe space to open up about their experience unfiltered. thank you for spilling the OT 👏🏻 keep it up!!

    Occupational Therapy Programs
Hey!! I just wanted to thank you so much for doing this podcast! I am currently in the application process for occupational therapy programs and value the knowledge you share through this platform. I was wondering if you could do an episode about OT programs and the process that student have to go through to make you best prepared for them. I know this was one of the first platforms I looked at when starting my journey and I think it would be a great resource for others thinking about OT as a career!

    Question
Can you talk about or bring someone on to talk about what it is like to be male in a field dominated by women and is it the wrong career choice for me? Sometimes I feel out of place and judged. I’m currently an OTAS and applying to OT school.

    Love the honesty
I love the honesty of this podcast! OT was one of the careers I considered in college several years ago and I enjoy listening to this insider’s view.

This podcast help me get ready for my OT grad school interview. I love the variety of topics discussed. It shows me how much I can do with this field once I graduate. I also love that they keep it real on here— the good and bad are discussed. It’s been so helpful to hear about the pay OTs are making across the nation. It’s a huge cost commitment to go to school and I need to know the reality of what my income may be after school.

I’m a third year OT student unsure what direction exactly I want to go into and love hearing all different perspectives! Thank you so much!

    Masters OT Student
This podcast has gotten me through the craziness of the pandemic these past few months. Even though my OT student role took a turn as soon as I was preparing to go to the national conference, I’ve been able to throw this podcast on during my down time and remember how lucky I am to have chosen this profession. Now I’m preparing to go to my first Level 2 in a few weeks and I couldn’t thank you enough for proving easily available insight and information!(:

    Community OT
I just listened to the episode with Andrea LeFlore! I loooooved this episode! Andrea is so incredibly knowledgable and I had no idea this area of work was even a possibility in OT. Thanks so much for having her on. I have so many favorite interviews it’s hard to choose, but this one was particularly special right now.

    Perfect!
Just finished listening to my first episode (Outpatient Peds and EI with Jennie). I graduated from OT school in 2012 and it’s like she was reading my mind. I was literally in tears by the end because I felt so validated in all that I have been feeling! Thank you so much!

A really good resource for such a little known profession.
As a new-ish OT (2 years out of school) there are limited resources about our profession. I love that you cover such a wide variety of topics. Please keep it up and know that you have love and support out here in the community.

    Such a great podcast!
Hi, I am a senior in high school and your podcast has helped me learn more about occupational therapy! I will be shadowing at a pediatric outpatient rehab next semester and your podcast is helping me learn more about OT. Thank you for being honest and keeping things real with the positives and negatives of OT!

    Love listening
I enjoy listening to this podcast during my work days! I’ve been working in pediatrics since I graduated in 2016 and recently went from the outpatient setting to home health. Though not all topics apply to my area of practice - I love hearing about experiences and tips/tricks that I could carry into my own treatment planning. Hopefully more episodes keep coming out. I’m very appreciative of the time and effort it takes to make this happen!

    Great podcast
I love this podcast! I am a level 2 clinical student and the topics/stories/information given on this podcast have been helpful to me not only in my clinical, but in preparing me for life as an OT. Great for students, not just working therapists :)
  • mariep853
    Love!
Recently discovered your podcast and I love it! I’m currently in the application process for OT school and it’s really nice to hear about all aspects of OT. It’s not just all rainbows and butterflies like it’s sometimes made out it be and I think as a student it will be extremely helpful to know realistically what to expect after graduation!! Looking forward to more episodes!
  • ljanak

    Thank you!
I am so happy to have found this podcast and hope that it continues ♥️ I'm incredibly unhappy in my current career and thinking about going into OT, so this podcast has been so helpful in understanding the field and requirements as well as useful advice, etc. Thank you so much for making this podcast and for the honesty ♥️ I'm excited to continue to listen!

    A great source of info
I learned more from these podcasts than I had from shadowing/volunteering in 3 different OT settings. The perspective of each episode is realistic and gives students a good idea of what they’re getting into. I highly recommend this podcast for anyone pursuing the field. I’ve recommended this to all of the members of my OT club at my college because it provides helpful information. I just wished there were more guests from the west coast since I’m planning to practice in California.

    OT salaries
I love this podcast. It’s validating to my personal thoughts about salary, school debt and high standards/unethical behavior at work for productivity. I find people are too afraid to talk about how much they make. As a new grad I didn’t know how much to ask for or accept. Its also nice hearing people are in as much school debt as I am. I recommend telling listeners to use https://otsalary.com. It’s anonymous the more input the more it can help others.
  • Glitzbglimmer88
    Thank you!
Really helpful! Thank you so much - love the accurate salary information. I always thought the average salaries listed online seemed higher than the salaries of anyone I ever knew and I was glad to hear other OTs agreed

    Absolutely love this podcast!
I’ve been listening to this podcast over the last couple of weeks and it has really helped me to prepare for entrance into a doctoral occupational therapy program beginning in a few weeks. Things discussed on this podcast aren’t easy topics to ask those already in the profession unless you know them really well, and it gives you a true insight into what being an occupational therapist is behind the scenes. It’s incredibly helpful! I’ve already learned so much and have a better understanding of what to expect in the field. Forever grateful to you for creating this amazing podcast!

    Good content, poor quality
The sound quality of this podcast and this episode especially are poor. The actual podcast is very difficult to hear so you have to crank the volume. Of course when the ad comes on it is absolutely blaring.

Amazing (& REAL) podcast about OT
I’m a grad student in the OT program about to head off to level 2 fieldwork. I love listening to your podcast. I love that you keep it real because sometimes I feel like in school everything about the profession is rainbows and butterflies and we don’t get to learn about some of the real life things. It’s awesome getting to hear from therapists in different settings. It helps me get a better idea of what direction I wanna go after graduation (since I really have no clue! 😂😬) Keep doing you! 😊
  • CTreezy
    Amazing podcast!
As someone on the fence about going to PT or OT school this podcast has been extremely informative. I love the fact they it’s not all roses and sunshine. Learning about productivity standards, burnout and realistic salary expectations is so essential in order to make an informed decision. I also love how you explore all of the different settings available. Hearing the perspective of all of your speakers has been invaluable. Thank you so much for creating this podcast and continuing to push out honest & valuable content.

10 years and a Mom- it’s all about roles
I am loving this podcast! I have been an OT for almost ten years and have lots of passions. It’s so great to hear what others are doing and think about how this can relate to what I am doing. Thank you for the honest conversations about our field. It’s important for all of us to hear this!

Highly recommend this to OTs and prospective OTs!
I really appreciate the honesty in this podcast. I’ve been an OT for 4 years and have worked in many settings. I love my current setting but I could never work OT full time (I’m part time). I’d burn out instantly! This podcast doesn’t sugarcoat anything but also interviews some really wonderful OTs.

    Great podcast!

    Occupational therapy student
I absolutely love this podcast! I will be graduating in May this year with my masters degree in OT, what tips do you have for deciding which setting to go into? I am struggling with deciding which setting I would like to work in once I graduate because I have enjoyed all of my fieldwork experiences and can't seem to pick just one. Thank you for sharing this podcast, it has helped me so much!

    Super Helpful & Really Fun!
Working at a big hospital in the city, *Spill the OT* explains the inner workings of the OT world from start to finish :) An awesome resource for those thinking about entering the OT field or currently an OT student in the process of earning his/her degree! The Host utilizes humor & facts to address all types of OT questions & different topics! Great info!
I am a hopeful OT student in the application/interviewing process of getting into a grad school program for OT and have loved hearing insight from OT professionals on their experiences. Looking forward to future episodes!
  • sflot
Great source of info but starts out very negative
I’m a OT student in Sflorida and left teaching to go back to school as a mom and wife. The first episode is very negative . Every profession has ups and downs. If you aren’t loving what you do change it, people can tell if you aren’t happy. I want to hear more about people’s work experiences and future possibilities and uncovering things we haven’t seen
  • Kacey0023
    Great listen!
I love this! I love hearing about the salaries and student loans, sometimes I just don’t know if I hide the right career so this is refreshing to hear
