I found your show in 2023 when I was planning a Mother’s Day trip. Your show completely changed how I thought about my whole island experience. We slowed down and enjoyed “talking story” with locals supported smaller restaurants and learned more about the true history of what the us has done in so recent time to this beautiful place and people. I am planning to visit again this Mother’s Day week. This time bringing Spanish speaking family friends and their 7 year old granddaughter. Planning mixed activities still keeping as local as possible but not also Kiki friendly. Would love a senior and kid friends crossovers you would recommend? Just found the Hawaii railway I think that would be one for the list a two hour tour out of Waikiki. Again thank you for all your insight and love you share about Hawaii you make it very accessible and fun to plan while still keeping respect top of mind as we are guests on this beautiful rock. 💚

Hawaiis best is the best of podcasts to learn the right way about Hawaii to do travel and respect for the culture. We are especially hesitant to visit after the happenings in Lahaina but now have a better understanding of the right thing to do and what to do to be of help rather than hurt the people during this time. This podcast is BY FAR the best one out there for helping to plan a trip to Hawaii. Learning ways to support local beyond the lava flows is very valueable. Every other podcasts seems to talk about how to get the most out of Hawaii, while this one is more focus and leaving Hawaii better than we found it. I love that this podcast talks about all of the different types of activities you can do in Hawaii and breaks it down by island and interests. I definitely need to go to Kauai to go tubing! I also love that they have a whole episode of respect for the island and how to not be the problem tourist.
