Mama OcksEpisode 242 is *chefs kiss*Erika has this special way of knowing exactly what I need, exactly when I need it. Episode 242 with Liz Earnshaw came right as I was feeling so many of the stressors discussed in the episode. It helped me put into words so many of the things I was feeling but not able to communicate to my partner. Thank you, Erika. You have truly changed the way I view and approach motherhood. I am eternally grateful.

NferraraGreat Podcast! Less expert background, more content!I love the topics I just wish more time was spent on the different aspects of the topic rather than the background of the expert and how they ended up on their journey. That’s all wonderful and interesting but it eats into a big chunk of the content. I feel this would be better in the show notes so more time can be used for relevant content.

DesiLauren24Literally life changing! As a first time mom, I swore I had it figured out until my sweet little baby became a toddler lol. And because the parents/grandparents did things differently than I wanted to, I started looking for podcasts to help me out in the challenging areas & I found Momwell. The episode about childhood trauma affecting us as parents is the one that got me & I have been doing inner work after discovering I had some trauma that I hadn’t even acknowledged which has totally changed how I parent. THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

Jewel HohmanWow!Although I'm not a mother myself, I appreciate the realness Erica brings to her podcast! She's very relatable and hits on the topics people are afraid to talk about!

Elizabeth😇Disappointed with pro-abortion episodeAlthough I used to listen to this podcast, and appreciate the level of expertise shown, I was very disappointed in listening to an episode that promoted abortion. The host did not describe her view, but allowed a guest to express this view, which I find incompatible with life and motherhood. I don’t know how we can talk about taking good care of our babies and our children, while, at the same time, tolerating the view that abortion is acceptable. It’s not. Taking care of our babies means defending them—starting from inside the womb itself. Unsubscribing.

cebnkGreat content- too many adsGreat content but there are so many ads it’s distracting and off putting.

alixandra.the.greatGreat podcast for mom’s with littlesThis podcast helped me get through the postpartum phase and currently inspires me as a mom with a toddler. Love this podcast for all moms. I just have one critique,Erica please stop making “mhm” sounds while your guests are talking. It’s one of my pet peeves and makes it very distracting when your guests are speaking. Love your content though!

Mcar1004Momwell helped me find myselfAs a first time mom I had an idea of what mom life would be, but once baby came everything I thought I new went right out the window. I had no idea postpartum anxiety or intrusive thoughts were a thing, I thought I was losing myself and my mind. When I found the Momwell podcast I had to hold back tears because I finally found something that explained what I was going through and helped me vocalize my feelings to my husband in a way he could understand. I tell all new moms to listen and will continue to listen myself because this podcast helped me find myself though one of the most difficult transitions I have gone through… Motherhood :)

doctorTND5 star Review - Dr. TayI love how Erica creates a community of understanding and vulnerability in each episode, where each topic is handled with care. As a licensed child psychologist that works with children and their families, this is a podcast I would gladly recommend to moms.

SFBayMamaMomwell helps moms be their bestThe Momwell podcast is a game-changer! Erica brilliantly bridges the gap between the expectations and realities of motherhood. Each episode offers valuable insights that resonate with my own journey as a mom of five. From professional tips to heartfelt stories, this podcast is a treasure trove for any mother navigating the beautiful chaos of being a mom in this moment. A must-listen!

RachelabauerRequired listening for working moms!I run a business that specializes in training and consulting for workplace gender equity. Much of that has to do with interrupting maternal bias at work and helping workplaces understand how to best support working moms at all stages. Finding Momwell has given me so many tools to help clients understand the experience of mothers from every angle. As a mom myself, there have been countless “aha” moments and actionable takeaways for me in listening to this show. Do not hesitate- listen now!

Lili Knox 💜Amazing show for all moms! This is such an amazing podcast for moms. Erica has such a warm, welcoming presence, and some truly amazing guests. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone seeking reassurance as a mom. 💗

Jessi_roseOne of my favoritesI absolutely love this podcast! It’s so refreshing hearing all things mama, postpartum has been hard for me. I’m a big listener
-
d_jacklynGood Content for a Not Diverse AudienceThe content is good, but it’s definitely from 1 cultural standpoint and really caters to white cisgendered women. I don’t think she’s ever had a black mother/woman or a mother in a same-sex relationship as a guest speaker, or if she has, maybe it’s been a long time. I started listening almost a year ago. I would appreciate more diverse speakers touching on things that moms of color, specifically black moms, could relate to as well.
-
lilly TaiSaying goodbyeI really enjoyed some episodes and appreciate the work put into some episodes. However, a recent episode referring to religion was very unfair and a one-sided viewpoint on religious advice. I feel like this show continues to put down religion and uphold a secular worldview and I cannot support that.
-
quillowOne of my faves!Definitely one of my favorite motherhood podcasts. I always look forward to new episodes and have felt supported through my first twelve months as a new mom. Erika has great guests, is an excellent interviewer, and in general I just really love her overall content and vibe!
-
Play_DR22Incredibly helpfulThis information is so helpful to parents with babies! You bring light to real issues with kids and parents! Thank you!
-
kbiegzInsightful and ValidatingThis podcast has been incredibly validating for me on my postpartum journey. Erica discusses subjects can be hard to understand until you’ve become a new mom and talks about experiences and feelings that aren’t picture perfect and helps make those normal. This podcast has helped me realize several times that the things I’ve experienced and felt postpartum don’t mean I’m crazy but that they can be completely normal and opening up the conversation can help me see a way through the difficult parts of my postpartum journey
-
James314159265358973Okay contentThere’s a couple good doctors that come on but I’m mainly struggling with her voice and how she talks. It makes me want to rip my hair out.
-
Podcast Ep.306So Insightful even though I am not a mother!Erica is an amazing podcast host and really guides each episode with an authentic approach. I admired her thoughtful questions in the episode with Dr. Quincee. Loved it!

candacejulliThank you……I can cry as I’m writing this review because this podcast has walked me through the darkest time of my life. I suffered from PPA and PPD with my third child that started when he was 2 months old. The guilt I felt everyday for my intrusive thoughts, the anxiety I felt upon waking up every morning, my life felt gloomy. It literally seemed like the sun didn’t shine the same. It was as if I was in a shadow. This podcast helped me understand what I was going through physically/chemically/ emotionally. It made me feel like I wasn’t alone and gave me hope that I would feel better. It helped me give myself grace and now I’m 15 months PP still learning so much and there’s weeks that the new podcasts hit the nail on head for what I’m going through. I’m SO thankful I found this podcast and I want to mention I found it through attending groups on PSI for PP support. I always suggest it to any new mom I see struggling regardless of if they’ve been diagnosed. I just want to thank you Erica, just hearing your voice in the intros soothes me. Sending love, grace and healing from Connecticut. Love Candace

Niua2003Great QuestionsErica is a really good interviewer - her guests are great, but it is also her skill at asking that right questions. I think she knows her audience very well, and is great at getting information out of guests that really matters to us listeners.
-
Crapflapstackles the big subjects!I like this podcast because Erica tackles the big subjects and isn’t afraid to talk about her experience or broach topics the media tends to avoid. Listening to all her interviews of very relevant people across multiple fields really has helped me come to an understanding more of motherhood. I especially liked the interview with Lindsey Shafer and the one about perfectionism!
-
Jen @ GoDiaperFreeGreat info for moms and parents alike! This podcast makes moms not only feel NOT alone, but also that our feelings are justified. Thank you for not only helping moms cope, but thrive in motherhood and that all our feelings, whether happy, sad, anxious, or anything else are valid and real. Erica has great guests and gets just great insight out of the interviews.
-
BP917Great podcast for new moms!I love this podcast! Erica hosts speakers with a variety of approaches to parenting and self care. This helps new moms make informed decisions in a world where it often feels like parenting styles can be very polarizing. I would love to hear an episode on adjusting to return to work after maternity leave.
-
J_Bell2Incredibly HelpfulI just recently started listening to podcasts, because I’ve been trying to work on my mental health and being a more present mom. I came across this podcast and I have spent every free moment (not many as a mom of 3) listening to episodes. The Mom Wound episodes really resonated with me. There have been so many episodes that I’ve connected with and it’s brought a new understanding to the issues I face. I couldn’t love this podcast more! Not to mention, Erica is so calming and kind in the way she delivers each message. Thank you, Erica!

Kristinnnnn GThe whole thing was a freaking adImagine this: you’re a mom who is currently struggling HARD with mom rage. You come across this podcast, specifically the mom rage episode, and you think, “awesome, maybe there will be something in here to help me.” Turns out the ENTIRE episode is just a freaking advertisement for their stupid workshop that you have to pay for. Like, there is maybe one quasi-useful piece of advice throughout the whole HOUR. So you’re trying to listen to this while still momming, trying to have SOME time for yourself to improve yourself, and does it help??? No. But it definitely increased my mom rage, having to listen to her annoying voice telling me to buy her stupid workshop. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME. I will never get that hour of my life back. And I certainly didn’t have an hour to WASTE in the first place.

Sarah MangsnEssential Listening for Moms!I found this podcast when I was three months postpartum with twins and returning to work with tremendous guilt and anxiety about the separation. Through listening to the episodes, I found validation, understanding, compassion, and relief. Since then, I’ve listened to every episode, many of them multiple times. I am SO thankful for Erica and her guests. My postpartum experience would have felt very different if I hadn’t found this podcast when I did. I recommend Happy As A Mother to all my mom friends and look forward to new episode releases each Wednesday. Thank you for the work you’re doing!

@MichaelUnbrokenGreat Podcast✨✨✨I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for creating such an impactful podcast! I believe that we all have a voice that deserves to be heard. Thank you for putting this into the world! BE UNBROKEN! @MichaelUnbroken

ctina031Great podcast, only two frustrations5 stars for amazing content, guests and relevance for me as mother. My two frustrations are that the audio is sometimes poor on the guest side. Also, I believe the podcast would benefit from being more mindful about the balance of talking between host and guest. I would like to hear maybe 75% of talking from guest so I can learn new things and perspectives but I feel host talks more than 50% of time on a lot of episodes. Thank you for making such a meaningful and thought provoking podcast.

allierose143A must for all new momsI absolutely love the Happy as a Mother podcast. This has been a lifeline for me as a new mom. This podcast has helped me ease into my new role as mom and I am just so thankful I found it. I recommend this to all my friends because I really can’t even imagine not having this resource. This podcast lifted me up and helped me overcome my struggle with PPD/PPA. Erica is such an incredible host she always asks such thoughtful and practical questions to her guests and always selects the most useful topics for moms. I am a physician and the topics especially relating to maternal mental health have been so useful to me on a personal and a professional level as well. I am inspired to help other mammas as Erica has helped me. Thank you so much Erica for all that you do, I am a HUGE supporter of you and your work and I am really really thankful I found your podcast.

katherinemommyof2My go to for connectionIn a world where sometimes it feels like we’re doing this motherhood thing all alone, I love listening to this podcast knowing other mothers are struggling with the same things. It provides some sense of connection and I’m so thankful for it. I definitely look forward to new episodes
-
Yuppie 1997Excellent podcast for momsToday’s podcast on Mommy Wine Culture was spot on. Such an important topic, especially with the pandemic and unrealistic demands of motherhood. It brings me comfort to know I’m not alone. Thank you!
-
toddiepoddieExactly What You NeedThis podcast is a blessing. We just brought home our second baby and I’ve been overwhelmed with everything in every aspect of my new season of life. This podcast has helped me tremendously; it’s helped me grow an understanding for what I’ve been going through and take a moment for myself to listen to professionals explain topics in a very knowledgeable, but understandable way. Love the average hour length of these podcasts, love the guests she brings onto the show, love the psychology based background. Truly my favorite podcast of all time. I’ve listened to every podcast and loved every podcast - even the ones I didn’t think I would relate to - that’s how great each and every episode is!
-
EricaBushwellAwesome podcast!Erica, host of the Happy as a Mother podcast, highlights all aspects of mental health and more in this can’t miss podcast! The host and expert guests offer insightful advice and information that is helpful to anyone that listens!
-
Marryme1220This. Podcast.I can’t begin to express just how much this podcast comes up in my daily conversations with fellow moms. The beauty of linking science with the joys, triumphs, and challenges of motherhood brings a new dimension to what it means to care for oneself holistically— so we can care for our babies in the best way possible. Erica, if I’m ever in Canada, drinks on me!
-
scientifichavoca must listen for all new momsi just listened to this podcast (#58 on resentment) for the first time last night and bawled my eyes out. it was so cathartic to hear someone else talk about what i was feeling and what i had gone through. as a first time mom (and in a pandemic no less), i had nobody but my husband to turn to for support. my mom, sisters, and best friend were all thousands of miles away. this podcast made me feel like i was finally understood for the first time since my baby was born. i wish i knew about it during my “4th trimester.” thank you so much.
-
Dpippen😍😍😍This is what I listen to when I’m hiding in the bathroom...kidding...but seriously! I feel so understood listening each week!

sharkschae'No Longer Feel AloneI stumbled upon the ‘Happy As A Mother’ podcast one day.. then I quickly redownloaded the apple podcast app. Since then, which was just a short 2 months ago, I have changed. I listened to one episode and was called to go back to the very beginning of season one and listen to every episode that spoke to me. I am now on the most recent episode on the “perfect mother myth”. I have enjoyed every episode.. the talks with Erica and amazing professionals. I realize that I am 100% not alone and never will be as much as I feel that way sometimes. This podcast has helped me, taught me, and been there for me in my bad days. Thank you for doing what you do mama. ❤️
-
Amanda T🦸♀️Love it, Mama!I stumbled upon this podcast looking for open and honest discussion to help me grow. I wish I listened to you before I gave birth. Your podcast is honest and thoughtful and honestly, a really nice “rule book” for what a mother could expect after having children. I think our society focuses so much on what to expect while expecting, but nothing for after you take your child home. Topics are deep but light and your guests on the show are super easy going. Easy listen ... thank you!

es ey emLove a good Mom-cast!This podcast is SO good! Thanks for being realistic and relatable to the everyday Mom!

CnagaBest Motherhood PodcastThank you, Erica, so so much for truly seeing me as a mom. You help me know that I’m not alone AND that my imperfections are part of what make me a good mother.

Lizette9Saved me mentally and emotionallyFinding this podcast has been a life saver. I have fallen into a depression - rage - and full of anxiety even 15months after having my daughter, but Érica and some of her guests and episodes give me a sense of hope. Her voice is so calming also hearing her on my way to work and from work has made my car rides so much more enjoyable and less stressful !!! I have recommended her to quite a few friends. Thank you keep up saving moms one day at a time !!!
-
ScreenFreeParentingExcellent info for young momsErica is a professional who provides balanced information in every episode! This podcast is a great, centering listen.

BlonderavensgrlNew momI am a brand new mom and I am so thankful for this! I agree we need more care for moms after baby. I suffered terribly with PPD and I didn’t know what was going on at the time and by my 6 week check up I had already decided something was wrong. Thank you for your podcast! It made me feel like I was normal!
-
LindaYorThank God this is helpful!I’m extremely happy to find this podcast. I related to most of what you say. It is hard to find something down to earth help and resources like yours. Thank you.

hannah ovulatesMama or not, Erica offers incredible mental supportSince starting my talk therapy journey a month ago, Erica's interviews and notes have accompanied this beautiful journey to self healing. I am a mama of two and recovering perfectionist. This podcast reaffirms all the self compassion I am working on in therapy. Her interviews are all on point with her mission to equip mama's with the skills they need to succeed in self awareness and mental and emotional healing. I didn't realize how lost I was in a sea of overwhelm and control until this journey brought me here. Erica has a soothing/non-dramatic way of representing her field of maternal mental health. Thank you!
