Been listening since the podcast started when COVID hit. It’s great subject matter for creatives needs and geeks. Tex and Co, and by extension the BPL and Auxiliary remind me how important it is just to let your brain go crazy sometimes and that while the world goes crazy around us, none of us is truly alone.

This podcast dominates any of the public library podcasts out there.

I found Tex and the bpl a while back due to recommendations from facebook to watch the Amaris civil war videos. I have since listened to all of the Tex talks Battletech stuff love the work and detail that goes in. I listen to this podcast while at work. There are times my coworkers look at me concerned because I am laughing so hard I can’t keep it to myself. I am in the process of listening to all of them. Keep up the great work you guys. My brother recommended Tex Talks Battletech to me awhile back, been hooked ever since. Started listening to the podcast when Magistratum Mundanus Episodes were released and have started over from episode one. The BPL crew has had me in tears from laughing so hard, thanks for that. I discovered BPL thanks to my random googling of “where did the clans come from.” This lead me to Tex Talk Battletech and now I’m hooked. Love it. Thanks guys.

Everything was pretty good content wise. Even gave it 5 stars back in 2019. Tex’s, and by extension his chorus of rotating lackeys, response to the invasion of Ukraine was disappointing and pathetic. And having a Ukrainian guy who paints your precious toys for you on once doesn’t even begin to make up for that.

I started listening to the BPL podcast after hearing about the Magistratum Mundanus play through on the BPL YT channel. It is probably the most fun I have ever had listening to an RPG actual play, and they bring the same energy and sense of fun to the other regular podcast episodes I have listened to. If you like the YT channel, you will definitely love its sister podcast!

I never cared about 40K until the BPL Gang started the Magistratum Mundandus series. I find myself heavily invested & laughing out loud all the time! Brings back good memories of gaming nights with my friends. Now I have to watch some 40K lore videos to understand what’s going on. Worth it thou.

I’ll never look at corn quite the same way ever again. And if you aren’t curious as to why that is the case? Then this isn’t the podcast for you. But you know you want to know…

So you think I am about to cry about some blue check mark twitter stuff you are mistaken I am ban from twitter. With that said great show good fun and I am surprised that you guys are out of Cleveland I am just south in Akron please help me.

If I can find more podcast of this quality and “character” I would look forward to checking out this free audio service more often. Like a free gift not on your birthday.

Started watching Tex’s battletech content and got hooked on it since I’ve been a fan of that since the early 90’s. Glad to see the bpl go for the pod cast idea and they cover a ton of topics in just the first couple of episodes I’ve heard. Keep it up!

Of all the podcasts that I listen to, this one is easily the least horrible of all. Also I really want to read/watch that Battletech Cameron Dynasty alternate history. It really should have happened that way.

I stumble through life without purpose or meaning. Those around me fill me with trash. They look down upon me as if I was nothing. But in a distant corner of the city I am sent to investigate a pirate radio broadcast. As I get closer, the signal gets stronger, as it gets stronger, the message becomes more understandable. I am told not to listen to the nonsense they say, but their words... compel me... they have meaning.. I begin to feel I could have meaning... purpose even.. And as I round the corner I see a van with elaborate wizard art on the side of it with a ramshackle antenna affixed to its top. And on that antenna, flapping defiantly in the breeze, appears to what seems to be...a pair of perfectly starched black pants. I have found my quarry. But then something else stirrers in me. I’m torn between duty and honor. Is it the sight before me? The pair of perfectly creased pants? The wizard painted on the side of the van casting fireball? Is it the words of the broadcasters that have wormed their way into my psyche? I do not know. But in that moment I have made a choice. A choice that would completely change my life and give me meaning and purpose. I turn without another thought, knocking over empty fiesta pails left over from the previous nights feast. The smell of coffee and booze wafting its way into my helmet from the street below. I turn off my comms channel with command, turn up the volume on the pirate radio feed, and lay in a new Nav point. The Berkeley Public Library... must be eliminated... for there can only be one BPL... I have made my choice... they filled me with trash... I will fill them with lead... for I have seen the way... and I am...the UrbanMech.

Without being too specific, allow me to simply state that your ears require this podcast to function. From stompy robots, to well spoken hosts with delightfully strange topics, this has been a delight.

Of the two currently-extant BPL podcasts, this is the better of them. Tex and his compatriots in the titular Black Pants Legion discuss games, memes, movies (episode XX is a scream), and life. The banter and jokes are lively and comforting. Make your life more tolerable for a bit.

Well edited and superbly voiced, this podcast reminds me of the deep philosophical discussions I overheard from the ancient neck beards who dwelt in the LCS of my early years. Far from the hyper polarized and political scream fests geek culture has devolved into, the hosts and their guests put forth well reasoned and thought provoking arguments that’s rekindled my love of pop culture. It’s seriously good you guys. Check it out.

Been watching the YouTube videos for a while, figured I’d check out the podcast and I’m quite happy with it. Just a bunch of friends together talking about whatever they feel like. Very amusing.

I’m not a member of the BPL but enjoy all of their content. This podcast is no different. Buckle in for some laughs, original gaming ideas, and all around advice about life.

If the fact that one of the folks on this show is named Tex doesn't entice you, maybe the fact that it's a show of a bunch of friends who love games (video, RPG, etc.) full of the kind of delightful nerdy chemistry you need in this moment will do the trick. Black Pants Legion is a fun gaming show covering a surprising range of material, whether it's the games themselves or the world they live in. Give them a shot. You might find something new to try :P

I’ve been a huge fan of the content these guys produce over on YouTube for the longest time! However, I tend to only watch their BattleTech content. It’s really cool, even refreshing to hear these guys having genuine conversations about other things. I love their humor too!
