FunkyterranceToo much banterHas potential but the constant banter interrupts suspension of disbelief.

PsyntologistNo Longer Critical Role. Rebrand or Get OutThis was the original Critial Role podcast when they were part of Geek & Sundry. It was where people could get an audio only version of the broadcast. You need to either change the name and rebrand the channel or go create a new channel for your show instead of riding the coattails of CR.

PallottikLife changingDude! I don’t even know what to say… My life completely change once I found you guys! You guys are real people who care for the art of story telling and they are pretty freaking good at it. Keep up the good work and I will love to meet you guys in person some day!

Chaotic__oneYuckyIt might be good if you fix the audio and the missing episodes. Besides, Tales From The Stinky Dragon is better by a landslide.

ch3mboiThe Phenomenon that Revived an IndustryCritical Role is the live-play DnD show that breathed new life into an entire genre of tabletop gaming. Is it true that early on some of the technical aspects were less than stellar? Yes, but folks here may forget or not know that initially these folks all played on a set for a live Twitch stream back before Twitch streaming was what it has become today. This was a hobby and a side hustle for a group of professional voice actors, but it rapidly became the reason that thousands (millions?) of people who’d never played DnD or any TTRPG were suddenly enthralled with it. Speaking for myself, I’d been a video game RPG fan in my youth (Final Fantasy FTW) but adulthood, marriage, and kids steadily robbed me of all my hobbies. Then I discovered CR on YouTube just before the pandemic. I don’t like to give too much credit to mere mortals, but Vox Machina became a companion to my long, miserable days stuck at a computer “teaching”. When I literally saw not another face all day long, I would see these doofuses and giggle along with their hijinks and thrill to their victories. For those who wonder about why the podcast cuts off suddenly after the start of campaign 2, CR had been distributing through a network named Geek & Sundry, but they started their own Critical Role Podcast Network and that’s where all their stuff has posted since then. In the meantime I believe Geek & Sundry was bought out by Realm, and they seem to be the ones who choose to put ads at the points of greatest tension in the gameplay. I’ve listened to other Realm podcasts and it’s the same way with them, too. But, if that annoys you, that’s the point, because that’s when you’re most likely to be paying attention. Don’t hate the player, hate the game. As for the sometimes repeated audio snippets, that’s a glitch on Realm’s end, which may have come from compressing the files, or their distribution software, or who knows what. I do know that the YouTube videos playback seamlessly, so you can always see them that way. And these ads are certainly less annoying that the constant barrage of Raid Shadow Legends advertising I got in 2019. Sheesh. So, to the ragamuffin band of adventurers that Matt Mercer himself later called “slapdicks”, three cheers and a huzzah!

martinclineHow is this show so popular?!What… so you only have one mic for the whole group?! This is impossible to listen to… people talking over each other, everyone laughing over people talking… it’s just painful.
-
TatharnethGreat show!Really enjoying this, but why is the podcast not available anymore?
-
anunamsVOX MOCINAamazing show, wish apple would let me listen to it
-
ThomasTheMedic1Too many adsAds just cut off people mid sentence, audio issues with repeating sections. Ads are added in the middle of super emotional conversations that ruin it please fix this. Critical role you go back all the time to add commercials please fix the other stuff while you are there

The--CelestialGreat PodcastBut I wish you kept putting the episodes on this channel as well. Through out session 1 it was so well crafted that I had to run a similar adventure they are so fun and the book that they’ve published are great and well written that I would recommend them to all DMs. Thanks Matthew Mercer

꧁ᴠɪɴᴄᴇɴᴛ꧂A classic and D&D phenomenon! If you are a fan of D&D, or at least a little bit interested in the game. This is a great podcast to listen to! The comedy is great (Altough, the podcast IS explicit-even though the rating says otherwise) and it has actors you may know from games or movies (Matt Mercer voices Cassidy from Over Watch!), the fights are often fast paced, although the boss fights are usually much longer. The players also play characters that are surprisingly fleshed out (Atleast compared to other podcast I’ve seen), and the roleplaying aspect is amazing-They are voice actors, after all. ALSO, this podcast if from when they were part of Geek and Sundry, but then they went independent. If you want to see the other show, just look up the normal critical roll channel. Happy listening!

Hdbcjd nx. . . . . . . . . .Watch this now!!!As soon as I started to listen to this podcast I loved it is is amazing and I highly suggest listening!!!!
-
TheGameKillrGood podcast, but not the bestI just started listening to Critical Role recently, and so far it’s really good! I love listening to not just how the cast plays these campaigns, but the stories themselves is what amazes me. The only thing I’m disappointed at is the cursing. To be honest, I’m not quite sure how this podcast isn’t explicit (or at least in the apps I use). btw, this show is NOT copied!! Some of y’all are just dumb just thinking that!!
-
TurtleshruggedWhy did I wait?Getting into this in 2023. Why did I wait so long to give this a go? It has everything you could ever ask for. Adventure, comedy, action, mystery, emotion. Mercer and cast do an absolutely fantastic job of bringing the characters and world to life.

OhKaeNearLAIs it Thursday yet???This show reignited my love of tabletop games.

BattMolandAlways good!I have enjoyed Critical Role for a long time but I find myself coming back to campaign 1 over and over. Watching on YouTube was great but sometimes I find myself just wanting something long-form to listen to on the road or working around the house. The Critical Role Podcast is the perfect fit. Thanks to the cast and crew!
-
W1CK3DEntityBells HellsI def started with campaign 3 because that’s what campaign they’re on atm. But watching vox machines on prime has me wanting to know alllllll about the troupe of misfits. I can’t wait to start this, I already know it’s gonna slap so I already gave it five stars.
-
hoo noseNatural 20!Matt Mercer, you have critically succeeded at impressing me! The podcast itself is quite amazing, and the only issues I have encountered so far were partially corrupted audio files on Episode 19. If these could be replaced, that would be great! Lovely podcast, has had a CRITICAL ROLE in my own D&D experiences. 10/5 stars. 🎲🏹⚔️🛡️🔮🐻🎲

Shaggy_1996Some of y’all are idiots 🤦🏻♂️A few things before my actual review: 1. This podcast is NOT “stolen”. It is their original podcast channel from when they were with Geek And Sundry. 2. Episodes 1-9 of season one are easily found if you just search “Critical Role Season 1” in the search section. 3. Every episode from C2 E20 onward to now is in the other Critical Role channel. That being said, Critical Role is one of the better D&D podcasts out there. Maybe it’s just that it’s the first one I listened to and it’s the one that got me into D&D, but it’s still my personal favorite. Audio wasn’t great at the very beginning of C1, but stick it out. It’s worth it. Trust me. Currently relistening to it from episode 1 onward.
-
ManEatingMermaidAw YisThis is the Geek and Sundry section of the show before they went solo. Audio is dicey in the beginning and you have to search for some episodes. Stick it out through the Whiterun story arch it’s worth it! And Campaign 2 is awesome on the other CR channel !
-
WerthyBHard to understandWho knows if the story is good, the sound quality is horrible. Can’t hear half of what’s being said due to background noise and PCs talking over one another. Listened for about 2 minutes, never again unless someone says it gets better. Try Reckless Attack, sound is great, story is fun and unpredictable and the dm and PCs are having a lot of fun
-
Weee BoiPeople Are DumbI don’t understand how people really think that this podcast is stolen. Geek and Sundry were the original producers but they switched to producing their own shows. This is an amazing podcast that people here worked hard to help produce. Be nice, and do your research before making a review
-
Prefer not to say nickname.Great content, definitely not stolen. They have two podcasts, some on one and others on the other. Not that one copied the other. So many false thoughts, when people just don’t know the origin. Either way, first D&D podcast I listened to, and still my favorite.
-
Marcel Marceauceau-Need to shift over to/search the other Critical Role podcast source. They cut ties with Geek and Sundry after episode 19 if I’m not mistaken
-
pmac11111111Where’s the other episodes? No more episodes after 19?
-
jdyejsnsGoodBetter to listen to this campaign on Spotify easier to find episodes and they’re all in order
-
Kitty Janet JuniorStupid.Super stupid, and they copied someone else’s podcast. Literally, don’t listen to it.👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽. Plus, it’s not clean

josher the greatPretty goodPretty good kind of hard to focus on what character is talking or doing with so many of them
-
BMurph25Note to new listeners:Episodes 1-9 can be found at the very bottom of season 1. Unless you want to skip content, don’t start with “K’Varn Revealed”
-
adventure zone fannnn!!!!!!Not for me but maybe for youI didn’t enjoy the first few episodes because it kind of started in the the middle of the quest-ish and the audio wasn’t great. But, it had good characters and I good story. Give it a try
-
Delorian Time MachineGreat for filling time…also it’s not stolen. These folks tell a fun story, and are engaging to listen to. If you like or love D&D, if you enjoy a well-produced story, or if you just have long travel stretches that you want to fill with more than talk-radio/music - here’s a fun alternative. Also, for all the commenters saying this is stolen audio, it’s really not. When CR started, they were a group playing a different TTRPG privately and were approached by Geek&Sundry to produce a D&D twitch stream. So this crew changed from the Pathfinder system to 5e and this channel was started to give an audio format to the Twitch streams. Part way into C2, they moved it to a different channel because they officially split from Geek&Sundry and became their own entity. That’s it, that is why there are two channels and why some live here and some there. G&S retains the rights to these episodes.
-
Thaton3guy19I’m sorry but I have toI know this is stolen from them but on their actual podcast I can’t find anything past Season 2 Episode 20. I might just not be looking far enough but that’s where I can’t scroll any further down so I gotta use this. Plus this is organized much nicer, I’m sorry but it is lol
-
Sw33pzStolenStolen audio. Grats.
-
wolfdagfaLook on youtube this is the channel they upload the d&d sessions toYall think someone just reuploded it but if you were smart enough to look on youtube you would see that this is the same channel on youtube idiots
-
paladinarteaLate to the party but loving this!I don’t have the time to play a D&D game much anymore, but listening to this podcast while working helps a lot :)
-
JC that's meTHIS ISN’T THE REAL CR PODCAST THIS IS STOLEN EFFORTWhy someone would poorly steal from the actual CR podcast, then re-upload their stolen audio is BEYOND me!
-
Lily WileyDO NOT LISTEN TO THISThis is not the actual critical role podcast, this is someone who has taken the episodes and reuploaded them as their own. Please go listen to the actual podcast if you want to listen to this. To the person who is making this please take this down.
-
becksterslabGreat show~- scratches my dnd itch - no idea what politics the other reviewers have mentioned - no problem accessing every episode here This show is a gift, and we’re lucky to have it. It’s so much work! Out for free! That’s amazing!
-
Crayon ShinchanThought it’d be lame and too nerdy.Always fascinated with D & D. Love the weaving of storytelling I never played cuz I grew up in a Christian home and wasn’t allowed. I’m so angry about what I missed yet this allows me to escape and bring me back to my school days!!!
-
VolyannLove itI loveee your show! Gotta say I’d love to see a mighty nein animated bit.
