TheLocust1313Scaredeee cats unite!I can’t watch horror movies because I’m too scared. But this helps me enjoy them with a great narrative recap, laughs, and lets me know what my friends are talking about. 5 Alison gasps!

New York MigRegarding “The Pyramid” EpisodeIn the episode for the film “The Pyramid”, Alison Leiby identified Eric Adams as the first Black mayor of New York City. He is not. David Dinkins was the first Black mayor of New York City back in the early 1990s. Mayor Dinkins initiated several policies which would take years to bear fruit in regard to crime reduction and social services. This long term approach allowed for Rudy Giuliani to unseat Mayor Dinkins after Dinkins’ one and only term, in the process taking credit for Mayor Dinkins’ policies which, as stated earlier, finally started bearing fruit in regards to crime reduction and social services. By the way, you guys should ruin 1985’s Day of the Dead. That’s a great film.

CandiedMolarsFabulous PodcastFabulous chemistry, horror recaps, and politics! Always have to listen in as soon as an episode drops!

BAW70Political PSI really like these chicks. I enjoyed their show and then they got all political and started bashing Trump and conservatives instead of just putting out awesome horror. Movie episodes. Trashed a good thing ladies. Don’t waste your time if you don’t wanna hear any political garbage from either side you just wanna listen to fun podcasts because these ladies aren’t that. Sad.
-
Paramadness00Love this podcast! The hosts have such amazing chemistry and I never miss an episode! You have to try this podcast!!!

Rosie_Dee6912Love the show but…Enough with the politics. Hard leaning left views. You do realize EVERYBODY listens right? I listen to hear a horror films not your incorrect political opinions

c.hillis⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This is the best horror recap/spoiler pod out there! The hosts are a joy to listen to and truly every episode is worth a 5 star rating.

no_itsjennyNot a night goes by…If I could only remember this four digit code for the parking lot, I could get settled in my room for the night, and finally relax. I sat in a zoned off state, hrmph; what was it? Forty five…. my mind trails off in a haze. It’s late, I put my Wrangler in park in front of the gate. Staring at the keypad to my left, as if the numbers will light up or suddenly dance before my eyes, I clutch the 99cent coffee from the gas station I passed on the way into town. The attendant had assured me the pot was fresh, but as I taste it now, I beg to differ. Thinking out loud I say four nine five oh, FOUR NINE FIVE OH! I reach to place the coffee down when two headlights shine in the rearview. Hmm. I reach for the button to open the window, when, straight ahead, as if out of nowhere, a figure is perched between myself and the gate. Holy SH!!!nickees. What? What is.. who is that? I gulp, the last sip of coffee still fresh on my lips. In a moment of sheer terror, it clicks… the attendant from the gas station is standing directly between the front of my car and the gate. If my heart weren’t … racing … enough … I would… what? My thoughts become… foggy. I reach to turn the ignition on, when I see out of the corner of my eye, he is now at my driver’s side window. I try to keep my focus, but suddenly my arms are heavier than my head. I place my forehead on the steering wheel, and turn slightly to look into the man’s eyes. He smirks, didn’t I tell you I had just made you a fresh pot…?

Miss Bunny619Great podcast, but…I love this show! It’s wonderful to find a movie podcast where they actually appreciate the genre. I’ve discovered movies I hadn’t heard about, since they delve into less obscure offerings as well as more mainstream releases. I’ve been binging through the back catalogue during a rough personal time, and the show always cheers me up. That said, I was kind of upset when I found out that Alison murdered Halle. Halle is now a haunted porcelain doll, and hangs out with Brahams in her spare time. I heard M3gan is angling for a thruple, but Halle and Brahams aren’t sure if her AI nature will blend with their cursed spirits. ALISON, WILL YOU SURVIVE?

Chess fan1234Everything is RuinedIt was a wet meadow, more bog than green field with high rocky peaks rising to the north and south and a long shallow valley rising behind me, an ancient glacier’s path, I suppose. Clouds stood tall to the west, dark and heavy with snow, where only a few minutes ago, the afternoon sun had been solo in a blue expanse. How do these storms arrive so fast? One of my boots slipped from a tussock of grass into an almost invisible pool of water but weirdly deep. Water flooded the boot, soaking the sock with icy water. Ahead, the heavily wooded valley dropped down to the west before curving south. In a moment, snow flew thick with huge flakes. I turned back, unsure of which way was back. Instead of peaks and a sloping rise, all was the uniform white of dense flurries of snow. “Well, this ruins everything,” I said, to no one. The temperature dropped fast. After crossing a bog and a thick hedge of trees, I stumbled into another pool, hidden beneath the fast-falling snow. A few minutes later, I sighed in relief. There, in the snow at my feet was another set of tracks. Someone else was out here, headed back to the road! If I could find the road, I’d find my pickup. I knew it. I followed the tracks across a bog and through a belt of trees and past a half-frozen pool with broken ice where my guide had stumbled in. Then, I saw a second pair of footprints. My heart sunk. The tracks were my own. I was tired. Scared. Unprepared for weather like this. I sank to my knees. I was tired. Deeply cold. Exhausted. “It’s no good,” I said. “Everything is ruined.” Thank God my earbuds still worked. Somehow, my phone did too. I didn’t care about anything else. I just needed a horror movie to be ruined… just for me… just for me.

FairyFilesIt was supposed to stopIt wasn't supposed to happen: I thought I was done. I completed the Rite of Removal, but I can still hear the voices. The days are full of acurséd tales of terror, and constant, insane giggles between. Hallie and Allison... haunt me. My life feels Ruined. —this is my favorite podcast and I wait impatiently every week for a new episode!

heidivanderleePolitics are also a horror movie soooKeep it up. Been listening since the beginning and it’s somehow the most calming and terrifying show at the same time. #friendoftheunion #keepcrookedprogressive
-
DisMelisLove your showI’ve been a listener for years and SUCH a fan but…. Can y’all please quit spending sooo much time on politics. Just reign it in a bit. Most of the time, I agree with what you are saying but it would be nice to not be hit with “the world is ending” for the first 15 minutes. Still love you though

PyndiaDark forces at workUpon listening to the soothing sounds of the episode I was lulled to sleep almost as if under a spell. While my body lie unconscious, I could sense something wrong I opened my eyes but couldn’t move my body as I stare in horror at a shadow pulling itself from my torso. It grabbed a pencil I keep by my bedside for dream journaling and began carving into my chest right above my heart. I screamed and screamed but no one heard me and woke with a start. It was just a dream, but when I lifted my shirt I saw Halle and Allison’s initials in a pentagram over my heart. Thank you for my only means of horror movie content bc I’ll never watch them lol. You guys are great and I love the show. I even got a couple of my friends into it as well. -Cyndi K.

PalomaBlanca00FavoriteThis is one of my new favorite podcasts. I was specifically trying to find women recapping horror. I’ve found a lot of the pods with mostly men can be a bit too bro-y for me. Halle and Alison are funny and pleasant to listen to. New favorite!
-
Anthony8918Love it!This show is so good. Halle and Allison are more entertaining than the movies themselves sometimes. I have watched a movie after an episode and thought “oh this movie is not good but Halle’s descriptions are top notch”
-
BGDemLove the pod! Love you!Gals! Have I got a movie for you! It’s called “Deadloch”. It boasts: Tongue chopping, tons of conflict, a potty-mouthed Aussie cop, and a Tasmanian setting. It happens to be 8 hrs long. And, it’s cut into episodes. But trust me, it is just like a fabulous film. More for fun than a Ruined episode. Love you both! Love the pod!
-
VaporeonTrainerIt’s alright, butCan you please put year the movie was released on EVERY episode title, please? There are lots of movies out there with same names and sometimes I’m 15 mins in before I realize it wasn’t the movie I thought it was. Also, PLEASE let Alison speak. It seems like she can never get a word in edgewise because Halle never shuts up.
-
hiyesokaySimply the bestI absolutely love Ruined! Its my comfort podcast. The hosts are funny and do a great job of breaking down movies.
-
Big And Black 888First Time ListenerI stumbled across this podcast and put on the most recent episode “firestarter”. The first thing out of the hosts mouth is just bashing Trump. Like seriously ?!?. Why do dumb host do this? You automatically loose half your audience. It has nothing to do with horror movies. I mean the concept is cool but hard pass. Do yourself a favor and avoid this one at all costs. There are many more horror related podcasts out there.
-
easy to use resident portalI hare scary movies but I love this podcast!I love Ruined! I just joined the Patreon. I’ve never been able to watch most scary movies! This podcast helps me stay in the know without nightmares for several days. 💛

MarseaMarieExcellent listen for a busy dad-on-the-goThe competitive, fast-paced, and travel-packed profession of carabiner sales leaves little time for frivolity or leisure. I barely have time for my own family, let alone the horror of others. Luckily, Alison and Halle are always here with me on the road to catch me up on all the best documentaries. I’ve even heard that you covered the series about my own family — can’t wait to find out what happened to Syd! Ostensibly, she’s doing great. Keep up the great work! 1.gggghhPolitical social issue show that talks about horror movies sometimes.I keep leaving and then checking back hoping the show is like it used to be . Nope. No one cares that you’re a lesbian, and I’m sorry I’m a white man.😔

W8W888888888888888888Horror fan & Ruined fanI didn’t find this podcast until I’d gone through a couple horror movie recap shows. Ruined quickly became one of my favorites! I definitely recommend to people who love or fear the horror genre.
-
CDC ZiggyBig Fan!Love the podcast — I also want to know the plots but am too scared to watch the movies. also I heard an episode where Hallie mentioned someone said they didn’t like it when you reviewed movies you didn’t like to which I would just like to give a counter opinion and say those are some of my favorite episodes!!! I love when I know you didn’t like the movie from the jump. Also like…you’re never going to like *all* movies in real life so why would you expect to like all movies on the podcast. So. Just throwing that out there. That’s basically the only reason I wrote this review. Boo h8rs. Go Hallie and Allison!
-
CaptainChazLike the hosts but…I guess I don’t understand the format of having 2 hosts, 1 of which hasn’t seen the movie, and the other just gives a detailed synopsis of the film. They don’t provide any fun facts, background, opinions, etc.
-
KenzieHydeMy favorite podcast of all timeI used to think I was a weirdo because I read the plots to scary movies on IMDB instead of watching them, but thanks to this show now I know I’m not alone! Please don’t ever stop making episodes. Love y’all forever 🥰
-
hugginsc5Fun and they do a great job recapping the filmsI listen to a few horror movie podcasts and the hosts do a great job of recapping the movie in a way that is evocative and fun. I feel like I’ve actually seen some of the movies.
-
krystyna1814Hate scary movies, LOVE this podI’m too easily scared to watch most horror films but Halle and Allison are so hilarious it somehow makes listening to all the details extremely entertaining.
-
BreedoeeLove ❤️💀❤️💀I’m so glad I found this podcast..Any horror fan needs to listen to this!!!
-
FoamrubbermonstersKeep’n it Spooky! My Favorite “new” podcast! Glad I’m getting here late so I can meander my way through past episodes. Came here for the horror movies but frankly enjoy a good synopsis and unfiltered banter just as much. Chillingly Refreshing! Suggesting: Let the Right One In.
-
devilish_misfitMy favoriteJust listen. It’s a lot of fun. Halle tells a great story and Alison’s false/dry enthusiasm never fails to make me laugh.
-
MygoldenticketHilariousFunny, witty and laugh out loud synopsis of horror flicks. Spoilers never sway me so I enjoy the podcast.

Noa ‘81Don’t let the naysayers silence you!I absolutely adore this podcast. I find the recap style engaging, and I really enjoy the what-would-you-do and who-will-survive moments, which is a feature that truly sets it apart from other horror movie recap podcasts. I just have to say, it seems like any negative reviews these gals have received all come from listeners who don’t want to hear about politics. Must be a great privilege to be able to say, “Like, they’re funny and all, but I wish they would just leave the politics out of it.” Ignorance really must be bliss, huh? 🤷🏻 Personally, I appreciate when entertainers, athletes, businesses, etc speak about their political leanings. It lets me decide whether or not I want to continue supporting them. Keep up the good work, ladies.

Aye37652778Parenting is Terrifying; This Pod is a SaviorI would never admit that I listen to this podcast while giving my kids screen time or while watching a 5 year old’s soccer games, or while supervising bath time. Never. But if any of that was true, it must mean this is a pretty rad podcast. Keep it spooky!
-
Megan639MehIt’s like Too Scary; Didn’t Watch but a lot more formal and less funny. It’s just okay imo. There are better podcasts that do the same exact thing.
-
EmilyNTilly89Fun but…Edit to add: in the episode about Raw: did they really insinuate that fatphobia is only a French problem and doesn’t happen in America? Oof did I really just have to fast forward 20 whole minutes to get to the actual episode and past the random ramblings? I get that banter is par for the course but 20 minutes is…egregious.

veggies&vodkaTo all the people who didn’t pay attention…This show is exactly what it tells you it will be and every negative review talks about expectations that are not related to the show’s purpose. Let’s recap the show’s description: Movies. Explained. By someone who enjoys watching scary movies. For someone who is too scared to watch scary movies. Not one word about ‘insight’ promised. No ‘analysis’ or deeper purpose. Allison was a film major. Halle is a fantastic storyteller. The end. Also, it’s hosted by the head writer of one of the most popular super-liberal podcasts in the world. It’s produced by crooked media. ***If you listened to the show thinking it would not include talking current events & politics occasionally, that’s on you.*** “Hallison” are just the best. (Honorable mention to Riz, cat of the pod) These two are as entertaining while being serious consumers of cinema as they are when they can barely control their own laugh attacks. And the puns -my god- the sheer volume of puns. If you came here for a fun time, welcome to the party - and as always… you must… we beg of you… keep it spooky ;)

bethany169Ruin me! Ruin me!I love horror, I quickly learned to love these women. At first I thought I’d only listen to episodes for movies I’d seen, saving the others till I’d seen the movies. But It’s too good. It’s too funny and fun. I’m good with hearing all about movies before I see them to enjoy these two talk.

Marie23_sequoiaBest Gym Companion 💖Love the show! Thank you so much for catering to the scaredy-cats of the world 💕 I have a movie request: Shadow in the Cloud. I don’t want to give anything away, but the lead is a strong courageous woman 💪🏼🥹

Allyson-ebThank you for the doll! Great podcastAs an Allyson that loves horror movies but can’t watch them, this truly is the podcast for me! I was so delighted when I received a special gift from the Ruined team after I signed up for the Patreon. It’s a delightful little doll that seems to be made of twine, twigs, and small bones. So cute! I placed it on top of my bookshelf. Sometimes at night, it even whispers my name! Our cat stares at it for hours and hours. My husband told me he doesn’t like it, but he disappeared three days ago, so nobody is complaining now! Anyway, love you gals and love the Pod! Love, Allyson
