The best and most informative podcast about Pilates
I have learned so much from this podcast about my fledgling Pilates business. It’s encouraged me to adopt practices that are evidence based in my teaching and has provided solid business advice over and over again. If you teach Pilates , whether you’re a teacher or a studio owner, you should listen to this podcast.

You Will Grow As A Teacher And Business Owner By Listening To This Podcast
This podcast has truly been life changing. It has changed how I teach Pilates and how I run my business. It is a beneficial podcast for anyone in the fitness industry, not just Pilates teachers and owners. Raphael and his guests have a wealth of knowledge and support what they say with the most recent research and science. I will say that this podcast has gotten better and more focused over the years. The early episodes get a little sidetracked with off topic conversation between Raphael and his co-host, but the more recent episodes cut straight to the point and are fantastic. I cannot recommend this podcast more!

    Thank you!
I love and appreciate this podcast so much. It makes me feel so much less alone in my business and teaching. I learn so much with each episode. Thank you, Raph, for helping Pilates teachers like me and around the globe. Your work is so important to me.

    Key podcast for Pilates Instructors
This podcast directly addresses the questions I have running in the back of my mind around how to become an independent and successful career Pilates instructor. I’m so grateful to Breathe Education for the content they create. Thank you Raphael for sharing your experience, knowledge and time!

The Pilates elephants podcast has positively impacted how I program my Pilates classes and how I cue my clients. The guests on the podcast offer much knowledge, and overall the content is valuable and motivating! I love learning researched-based facts that I never learned in my Pilates courses.

    Game changing
IMO hands down THE best podcast in the Pilates industry for those professionals looking to expand, grow and be creative for the long haul. Raphael and his guests help clarify all the misinformation, give loads of helpful tips, debunk industry confusion and so much more. As a Pilates teacher who's been teaching for over two decades, this podcast helped me rediscover my Passion for teaching and inspired me to walk through some fear of insecurity to create positive change in my studio. Thank you for all you do Raphael Bender

    Transformative
I have been a Pilates instructor for 9 years. I started listening to the podcast, joining community sessions, and bought Ralph’s book, all within the last year and a half. I can honestly say that it feels as if I have learned more than all of my Pilates education up to this point. I have found the knowledge absolutely transformative in the way I teach, how I think critically about the human body and experience, and the way I run my business. If you’re a movement professional, this is 100% applicable and you should give it a listen!

    Favorite science based Pilates podcast
This podcast is educating me as much as my Pilates teacher training! I love everything about it keep up the great work. Thank you so much for all the value you are bringing to our community.

This will help you become a more confidant and well informed teacher
I look forward to this podcast every week. I have completed the diploma with Breathe and it has given me everything that was missing from my 15 years teaching Pilates. You will learn about how to make money and value your self which was definitely lacking when I first trained. I have now developed my individual style of teaching with the knowledge I’m offering my clients what they need.

    This podcast is great!!!!

    Y’all
…this is a great podcast. After all the vitriol and hullabaloo from a certain group of people, they highlighted all the ways that Raph is xphobic or that phobic. But thanks guys y’all actually made me a bigger fan of this guy and his organization because he’s one of the voices of common sense in this world. K thx bye, and no step on snek
  • margaretmckinney17
Run very far from this podcast.
New Pilates teacher over here and wow it is incredibly sad to hear two white able bodied thin people talk about what diet culture is. This is a brave conversation to have but better to interview someone without thin privilege.
  • anotehr dude766
Dudes likes the sound of his own voice but I don’t
In episode 99 this dude says some misogynistic things about how Pilates is “too feminine and therefore not effective” which is in turn saying “what is feminine is ineffective.” That’s a load of nonsense. Since then this guy Raphael released a memo to his staff and 4 so far resigned due to the racism and transphobic language in it. Breathe Education looks more and more like a cult by the day. Google search Breathe Education Memo Reddit and read it for yourself.
  • kitkat~~
Raphael Bender is ableist, racist, and transphobic
Hello everyone, This is a review to inform my pilates colleagues that Raphael Bender, the CEO of Breath Education has been known to promote transphobic and racist rhetoric within his organization. When he’s presented with this criticism, he simply doubles down on his problematic ideology. He doesn’t want to listen and he doesn’t want to learn.
  • Dereksdrums
    Finally
Best Pilates podcast hands down. Great variety of topics and always learning and being entertained.
  • hedidthis9
Go to Breathe Education Memo Reddit
Raphael Bender the CEO of Breathe Education and the host of this show recently sent out an internal memo to his staff that ended with 4 staff quitting due to the cult like content and bigoted stances in this memo. Since then Raphael has doubled down on hate and transphobic language issuing a video with his wife in it where he says blatantly he will not use or ask students to use inclusive language. He runs a whole organization teaching Pilates teachers and he refuses to care about the feedback he’s been getting. Do your research and checked into all the allegations and proof. Also— this man Nathan Ross has been accused of multiple sexual harassment allegations and Raph has been completely silence about that.

    Ableism, Sexism
While initially excited about the myth busting and seemingly “expert” /researched based knowledge being dropped here, I am now unfollowing/unsubscribing due to ableist, sexist comments made by Raph and one of his guests (Nathan Ross areas). Please don’t support these people.

INSPIRED and absolutely the best Pilates podcast for teachers!
I’ve taught movement in various forms over the past couple of decades. I found my home in teaching equipment-based Pilates 6 years ago. THANK YOU Raph and team for a true quality podcast with an emphasis on **evidence-based** teaching. We desperately need your voice in the Pilates community! My teaching career has struggled since Covid; I feel so inspired after listening. I truly appreciate your interviews from other Pilates instructors finding unique ways to make a living helping others. I hope to soon become worthy of being interviewed! Thank you also for the book, Raph: the price is well below its true value. I hope any teachers reading this will jump on the chance to learn how to level up their teaching. Thank you so much again, wishing you and your team continued growth and success! —from a teacher in Utah, US

    Most informative podcast EVER
I’m not a Pilates teacher. Yet. But this podcast is amazing for movement regardless. If you want to follow someone who knows their stuff, follow Raph!

    Absolute gold!
Really important conversations to spark critical thinking and putting a halt to a lot of the pseudoscience and nonsense that happens in the Pilates industry. I really appreciate this podcast!

This podcast is a true gem!!!
I have been a Pilates instructor for about a year and a half. I stumbled upon this gem of a podcast a few months ago, and am now completely obsessed. As a new instructor, I’m thirsty for knowledge concerning Pilates, and how to better serve my clients. Thank you Pilates Elephants for putting out all of this incredible information. Each episode gets better and better (I’m listening in a random order). I’m also finding myself thinking about what I want to do with my career as a Pilates Instructor and what I want my business to look like. Thank you for all of the inspiration and practical information.

    Awesome source of information
I cannot describe how eye-opening this podcast is. I love the approach of movement optimists. It has helped me very much with my confidence as an instructor not to be afraid to try new things. Science based information helps clarify a lot behind what we do. Not only as a Pilates instructor but as a professional in my day job, simply by listening to Raph and Chloe and their progressive thinking. Not to mention their conversations are super fun and enjoy listening so much!

    Amazing!!!
Pilates Elephants is a breathe of fresh perspective and backed up by latest science. It’s a must listen podcast for all Pilates Teachers! It has challenged my movement beliefs, delivered some major “Aha” moments and most importantly it’s improving my skills as a teacher and as mover! Super fun and informative 💪❤️😊

    Body shaming
Thank you for bringing up this topic! Quite a few overweight clients joined my studio recently, and I too have used the “find your bony landmarks” .. 🤦‍♀️... I just found your podcast from a flyer in the mail. When y’all discussed this topic, I now see what I did not meaning too. I will now use better wording! Thank you!

Two thumbs up - way up
From the first listen, I was challenged and as a life long teacher love that. I’m listening in, expanding my knowledge base and critically thinking about how I approach Pilates for my clients and myself. The evidence based approach and growth mindset align with my teaching values and with every listen I find myself pondering and processing the content. Highly recommend for those who also love learning, podcasts and Pilates. Keep up the good work! @tulsapilates

Get ready to leave the Matrix
If the pilates industry was The Matrix, Pilates Elephants is the red pill. This is a must-listen if you’re a pilates/movement instructor who cares about evidence-based, best-practice methods and protocol. A big thanks to Raph and Cloe for their fearless leadership and truth-telling.

    Great Knowledge
As a pilates teacher, this podcast has been instrumental in making me think outside of my original training. They bring up to date research which challenge you to think critically and teach better.

    Love this podcast!
As someone currently working through my teacher certification, I find this podcast to be fascinating. Interesting topics are discussed with candor and humor… and I always take away something (or many things) both new and applicable. I look forward to each new episode!
  • yellow1110
    Negative without any solutions
I like the idea of playing devils advocate and challenging ideas that we might feel are set in stone. What I don’t like is that this podcast scoffs at the things I learned in my teacher training without providing any better alternatives. It feels judgey and discouraging. Instead of just pointing out how silly and senseless other teachers are, I’d love to hear the solutions on what could help us all be better.
  • SeattleGrey
    Honest review.
This podcast is eh. After listening to a handful of episodes, it feels “judgy” & self promoting. 😬 I don’t always feel uplifted or inspired. I feel like I’m walking out of a conference Hotel bar where I just just gossiped for 45 mins... and hey if you’re looking for that, then ignore my feedback! I am SO thankful for the Pilates industry. It’s given me strength in ways I never thought possible. I started it because of an injury & have had several teachers both contemporary and classic over a long period of time. I feel it’s important for clients to do the same & find the teacher that makes YOU feel your best & continues to challenge you! Just because you hear ‘one instructor’ say something ‘one way’ doesn’t mean it they are teaching it to every person that way or that they think they’re a ‘know it all’. Pilates is very much a gray area. Any elder teacher will tell you there’s not one specific way to do an exercise. Within the classical method I’ve never heard teachers say something ‘was wrong’ or made students feel less than. It all depends on the body. To ignore that all together in this podcast feels lazy. At times I feel the hosts create their own myths and catch phrases to create a ‘following’ for their training courses. Not all instructors have hard rules set & it’s misleading to say “that a teacher’s cue is complete B.S.”, when it could’ve been customized for just that particular client (whether the client is bored with it or not). Some clients think they can do things they honestly just shouldn’t until they have the muscle strength to do so. I felt the need to write this review because this industry is still on the smaller scale in comparison to other fitness methods. I would love to hear more real discussions about supporting one another, highs and lows of running/starting a business, tips to doing so and teachers who have been in the industry for a long time. Most teachers I’ve met and practiced with are continually working to grow in their own teaching even 20 + years later and are very upfront about that. I appreciate the candidness on this pod (that’s what drew me in) but would love it to have more of a purpose outside of dumping on others or self promotion. ❤️

    FINALLY!
Finally some continuing education that makes sense. Thank you Raph and Cloe for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us. More instructors need to hear this! This has become my favorite listen on my work commute. Lots of “ahh 💡” moments.

Raph and Cloe are top notch educators in the Pilates industry. Every instructor and instructor-in-training would benefit greatly from these episodes. Thank you to Raph and Cloe for gracefully tackling these true Pilates elephants.

    Obsessed!
Best podcast for Pilates professionals! If you are a movement practitioner you NEED to listen to this podcast as a source of continuing education. As a professional dancer/teacher and Pilates instructor, I have found this Podcast to be essential. Cloe and Raph have made critical thinking around the Pilates technique to be funny, well researched, and accessible. As a researcher of the body and movement, I find it refreshing to hear folks discuss current problem areas in the field, while also providing listeners with resources and solutions that will help all movement practitioners improve their teaching. Thank you Cloe and Raph! You two are AWESOME!!

Thank you for giving me permission!
I want to thank you guys from Tucson,AZ, USA at In Balance Pilates disenfranchised from Club Pilates. Just thank you for giving me the permission to do whatever I want without guilt or fear. I’ve been teaching for 6 years and I’ve always felt inferior to the “real” pilates notion. When I first started teaching I was fearless and time and time again I was slowly knocked off of my pedestal until I followed along with the snotty pilates. I feel empower and ready to take on the world after listening to your podcast. Keep on what you’re doing! It’s amazeballs! And I feel so good now teaching and just having fun. Without looking over my shoulder or worrying about what the snotty pilates police have to say. ❤️

A MUST listen for all Pilates professionals!
Love this podcast. It’s changing the way I teach and think about Pilates. I needed to hear this! Totally mind expanding. Thank you
