I used to listen and really enjoy this pod and went as far as traveling from Boston to NYC to see them live but Pete’s a hard listen these days. Or for awhile now. Ciph has gotten better and remained humbled, Pete not so much

I’ve been a Juan Epsman since the original iteration. Ciph has only gotten better with age and experience, he is now just a better version of himself.. Peter, however, is more obnoxiously than ever. Pete has always been a little bit annoying but it used to have a little Charm.. I listen to Juan ep for hiphop talk. Pete brings everything back to politics no matter how hard Ciph tries to leave it alone. Pete used to be of the culture but he’s been growing into a crotchety upper west side snobby Jew.. I liked Maryland Wigger Pete much better

I’ve been a Juan Ep fan since 2010 so this isn’t meant to be harsh. That said, Rosenberg is becoming hard to listen to. He over talks and interrupts Cipha and their guests usually to interject an ad lib or poorly timed joke. It’s ruined a lot of their recent interviews and episodes. Rosenberg is way too anxious and doesn’t let conversations flow naturally. I’m still a loyal listener and supporter but I hope Rosenberg realizes that him dominating every conversation is a hard listen

Honestly I love the pod and I’m so grateful to catch episodes yall put out! I hope to see more and more content! Definitely subscribe to this pod if you haven’t yet!

Been a LOYAL listener since years ago years ago I haven’t missed a episode since. It’s one of the things I look forward to every week. Its literally my favorite podcast even when they’re talking about nothing they’re just a great entertaining duo giving you the realness. After a few road trips my wife even likes JUAN EP now she thinks CIPHA is hilarious. She still doesn’t know I’m a patron though. Hahaha

Real talk. Cipha Sounds & Peter Rosenberg invented the hiphop podcast which evolved out of their morning show on Hot 97 years ago. But now the show is like 20% hiphop and more just like hanging with your 2 friends that are mad funny, insightful, and entertaining, but they never let you get a word in. So you sit there and listen to them wax poetic about their hang-ups, career goals, neuroses, and failures, while they occasionally name-drop their celebrity friends and dope lives. And it’s cool because you know them since way back and truly happy for them and want to see them shine. Peter Rosenberg sounds exactly like an old friend from BITD and Cipha looks like my cousin that is both a badman DJ that had THE TUNNEL poppin’ and a comedian that’s quick and witty and he’ll have you rolling. I tell all my peoples to listen and once they do, they come back. All respect due to the mandem, Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg keep pushing, building and adding on. 💣::BOMB DROP:: 💣 ONE

Last Ep was without question the best episode since the reboot of the show. Real hip hop talk and diving into albums. The random calls always a plus

Love these guys, love the show. I wish they talk more about music that recently dropped and analyze it a bit but not a really a music show.

Why is Ciph shooting bail for hate speech? Why does it feel like his sentiment is, this doesn’t effect me, so why does it effect you? It really feels like he’s being willfully naive.

But for Ebro or Rosen whatever his name is constantly complaining and cutting Ciph’s stories short. That’s why Joe Budden fired him.

I wonder if Rosenberg understands he is a hypocrite. It’s ok, we all are but he talks so hard, cuts ppl off when talking about his ppl but also when others are trying to explain a perspective he may not be familiar with… I just went every one to stop speaking negatively about groups you don’t belong to. Puba said one thing Rosenberg heard what he wanted and went from there….
