Where has this show been all my parenting life??
I don’t know how this podcast landed in my life but I am obsessed! I am going all the way back to the beginning to learn all about the tips and tools and the reasons why my daughter storms. I hope there is a specific episode about the need for autonomy because my teen is constantly throwing that out there and it’s so hard to not react to her! Meanwhile I am hearing all the great advice, putting it into practice is a little harder. I’ll keep listening, thanks Lisa for sharing your stories and wisdom!

    Must listen for parents!
I don’t want to be a foo-foo parent and I don’t want to be a drill sergeant either, and sometimes I just don’t know what to do. This podcast is very helpful. I loved the episode about love and connection, some times I need to separate them too

Lisa Smith has impacted our lives in a big way!
My adult daughter and I have been members of the hive for about a year and a half and we can say that Lisa has changed our lives in a positive manner. She has helped us to realize how to change our thoughts and regulate ourselves so that we can be there for our children and grandchildren, to connect with them, hold space for them, set limits and follow through, and learn to deal with what comes down our paths daily. It is such a benefit and a helpful experience to be able to be a part of the hive and get coaching three times a week. Even when she is answering someone else’s questions, it always seems like whatever advice she has for other parents is always applicable to so many of our situations. Listening to her nuggets of wisdom, every Wednesday on her podcast brings new insights every week. I am so grateful for Lisa and her generous dedication to peaceful parenting.

  • My thoughts 4 you
Great insights across ALL ages and stages!
Lisa Smith teaches the difference between snorkeling and scuba diving as we examine our children’s behaviors as well as our own. I leave every lesson feeling more empowered with practical strategies that enable connection and cooperation with my child all while working peacefully with discipline and respect in the home. I am more centered as a person and a parent since listening to Lisa’s podcasts and being a part of the weekly calls. Lisa is the real deal and emphasizes progress not perfection across all ages and stages of parenting!

The parenting village I desperately needed
After several months of listening to the podcast and taking a free 3 day challenge I was completely hooked. Lisa spoke to my soul and gave the answers I’d been looking for. I jumped in a joined The Hive which ended up being the best decision. It feels comforting to be surrounded by other parents who are going through what I’m going through. I no longer feel alone, unheard or unprepared. I have the tools to get through tough moments and if I don’t have the tools I can get help in The Hive. Literally life changing. “Thank you” doesn’t feel enough…but THANK YOU Lisa!!

Lisa and this podcast are Life Changing

    Life changing advice
Lisa has given me so many tools on this podcasts that I can apply right away to my daily parenting. It is amazing when you begin applying the deep listening tool. I realized how little I listed to my 5 year old. I have been more thoughtful about deep listening.

    So very practical and helpful.
I don’t think there is any other job in life that can refine us, humble us and teach us quite like parenting. I have been listening to the podcasts from the beginning - just 1 per day -and it is helping so much. I love the real life examples and “3 steps” or “4 steps” to reach the particular goal. I’ve been working a little bit every day on small things I can change to create more connection and cooperation with my kiddos. My goal is to help myself heal from childhood abuse while helping my kids feel like they are growing up with love and support instead of criticism and harsh words or actions. I feel much more hopeful about my parenting and how they will turn out, instead of afraid I’ve messed them up.

    Transformational
Lisa’s advice has helped me become a significantly better father to two strong willed boys… Get curious not furious has helped me become a scuba diver to their feelings and needs and go beyond their behavior to build better connection and therefore my sons are better at cooperating with my wife and me.

    Changed my perspective
I have been a member of the Hive with Lisa for 5 months and I have gone through an amazing transformation. I’m seeing life through a new lens. If you are anything like me, I was the type of person who is very type A, I valued efficiency and productivity over connection. It lead to being very frustrated and subsequent yelling. I wouldn’t yell all the time, but I definitely was stuck in old thought patterns and didn’t know a way out. Lisa has helped me think differently, in turn I know longer have this visceral reaction to things. I would get red, hot, and my heart rate would go up. I felt as though my body would take over and I couldn’t help myself feel calm. But now, my thoughts have changed. My body is responding and it no longer has this fight or flight reaction to things. It’s truly amazing. Thank you Lisa, thank you.

    The best!
I’ve listed to a lot of podcasts about parenting and this one hands down is the best. SO HELPFUL! Extremely relatable as well. 100% recommended for anyone who has children….especially this with strong willed ones.

    So refreshing!

    Real world is right!
Peaceful parenting is something that always sounded too good to be true. We were sure that the kind of parenting we wanted was only attainable if you lived in Daniel Tiger’s neighborhood. Discovering Lisa Smith and her podcast changed our entire family dynamic. She delivers mind-blowing information and tools that REALLY work. Her episodes are short and sweet- packed to the brim with just the right amount of knowledge to not be overwhelming. She always includes a real-world example and gives “homework” to work on until the next podcast. On top of everything Lisa is empathetic, non-judge mental, and really cares. She practices what she preaches and doesn’t pretend to be perfect. To wrap it up with a pretty bow- listen to this podcast and share with your friends. You won’t regret it. ❤️Hannah and Jacob DeVivo

    The perspective shift I needed
As a mom of four kids, three of them teens, and one in foster care, the amount of emotions and storms in our house are becoming more and more frequent. Each child has a different way of expressing themselves, and frankly, we were EXHAUSTED from trying to “deal” with them each day. Thank you, Lisa, for this gentle truth that they are crying out for their needs to be met. Your strategies and mantras have been in my brain and have helped me take a deep dive into what’s behind the behavior. A true gift for parents in the trenches!

    Great Parenting Podcast
I love this podcast! I have three children, oldest is almost a teen. Lisa gives some really great ways to revamp your parenting style. I feel like she’s in my house watching my family and gives the advice I need. None of us are perfect parents and I love that Lisa talks about how she wasn’t either. I highly recommend this podcast no matter what age your kids are.

    Pure parent gold
I have been through so many books and research to understand and parent my strong willed child, and found this podcast. This was what I was looking for and has resulted in real transformation in my parenting and connection with him, and all my children. So grateful for this podcast and all the content and community Lisa Smith has created! I finally found what I was looking for.

    This is a God send!
Please listen to this podcast on peaceful parenting! Lisa really gives practical, step-by-step ways to handle our children with grace and love. I love how she unpacks the psychology behind our children’s actions and explains it in such a way that it sticks! I find myself saying “get curious and not furious” when my two young boys are acting out. I lovingly allow them space to storm and express their strong emotions when they are having a hard time. In doing this, I have experienced more connection and cooperation with my boys. Such an answer to prayer! I’m even getting my husband to recognize that Lisa is the real deal! We want to sign up for her Peaceful Parenting 101 course! Thank you, Lisa, for putting in the hard work to help us parents love our kids well!

    So good.
The after school meltdown is real and thank you Lisa for explaining it! I can now understand what is going on with my 7 year old son and help him unpack that backpack. I used to dread picking him up.. which is terrible but true. Now I just drive and listen until he’s done, and then we can have a peaceful conversation. Thank you!!

    Strong willed kids
I’m only on episode 9 but I can see the difference between me and my kids. I have 2 kids that are very strong willed. I’m not perfect by any means I still loose it, but now I understand why my 3 year old son is like this. He needs my full attention and he is very strong willed. I just need to breath and listen and ask him to “tell me more.” My daughter whose six needs more of my listening. Loving the podcast.

    Ride the Storm
Your podcasts are so helpful to me. They are easy to listen to as well as easy to follow the advice. Parenting is hard work and I love having another tool in my toolbox to help. I have two strong willed sons and one has terrible storms. Lisa’s techniques give good and sound advice. I highly recommend her.

Grace and hold space during the hurricane!!!
I totally related to today’s podcast! What a simple tweak needed in my parenting. This happened just last night with my 6 year old. He tripped coming up the stairs and cried through his entire shower. My husband was trying to distract him and I wanted my husband to “fix” it and make the storming stop. After his shower, I had my son show me where he got hurt. I hugged him and let him cry. My son didn’t need us to “fix” it. He just needed to cry. I also liked when Lisa said that storming is their way of moving the feelings through their body! I need to learn that as an adult!!! I want to work on not rushing the storm this week. -Viv F.

    So good
I’ve listened to maybe 4-5 episodes of Lisa’s podcast, and for the first time in almost 8 years, I feel like I’m finally starting to understand my strong willed daughter. I’ve been reaching out for help since she born, and I’ve never heard tips as straightforward and concise as this. Lisa explains things in easy to understand language and then gives you a step by step plan on what to do next. Plus, the episodes are short and easy to listen to again so the wisdom soaks in more. Seriously- so good! I’m very grateful to Lisa for communicating in a way that makes so much sense to me.

    Great, easy to follow advice
I have twin 7 year old boys and a teenager. Some days are overwhelming and listening to Lisa has taught me so much (I’m only on the 5th podcast). I’ve already seen an improvement in the communication between my kids and I. Thanks Lisa! Here’s to a more peaceful household... and life:)

    A must listen for parents!
Lisa is amazing! As a single mom with two young children, her insights are invaluable to me. She makes me feel a little less crazy & like I’ll someday be able to live in a constant state of peaceful parenting. I’m a work in progress. I listen and re-listen to her episodes because it takes practice. Thank you Lisa, your podcast is the real deal!

    Very practical
Hey Lisa, I have been listening to your podcast since it had started. It has supported me in my journey to raise my kids with a better attitude and better communication. Although I am from Mongolia, every podcast you do connects with my situation, which means there are no cultural barriers to good parenting. I started putting keywords in my wall from each podcast to remember all week long what you talked about and practice with my two incredible sons. Thank you for being an excellent coach!

I have begun using these techniques with my 6 year old and boy- I have started seeing small changes and we are starting to connect on a deeper level now! • Amber H - Mom of 4 daughters
Exactly what I needed as a parent of 4 young kids!
Lisa’s information has been life changing for our family! We have 4 children ranging from ages 9 months - 7 years. I was in tears listening to her episode on getting kids to listen without telling. The tension in our house lately has been so high and none of us have been happy. Our kids are frustrated and so are we. We started using the techniques Lisa suggests and it was been a game changer! Things have gotten much calmer and we are working together with our kids now to accomplish tasks at the house. I love this podcast!!! My husband who does not listen to podcasts has even listened to these. We have a strong willed 3 year old child that has been a challenge for us since she was born. These have helped so much with her too! Thank you Lisa for what you do!!!!

    Needed info!
Lisa I love your podcast. It’s such a great refresher for me weekly, and I find myself being so excited for the new one to come out. Your podcast from today with your son Malcolm really hit home. I’m not only raising strong willed girls, but I AM a strong willed girl. Why it never really occurred to me to put that label on for myself, it makes so much sense. My husband is also strong willed. So thank you, for all your insight and help. We will raise our girls in a much more positive light! Thank you!

    Great and helpful!!
I went four stars (updated to 5 after episode 13!) I’m only 5 episodes in so far. Everything seems solid. I find the info helpful not just in parenting, but also in communication with people everyday. With a little time, this will probably be a 5-star.
