Real finance info for real families
I have tried for years to become more fiscally aware but had never been able to find someone who could explain it in an interesting, and concise manner. Megan breaks it down in a way that just makes sense. Her podcasts always have knowledgable panels that help deep dive into one specific issue. The information she provides is perfect for families and always seems relevant to today’s issues. Thanks, Megan!

Concise Info for Actual Real People
This podcast has information for real American consumers. I’ve periodically tried to watch CNBC and Fox business news to try to understand what’s going on with the market and our economy, but those are so dry and seem to be geared towards high rollers and folks within the finance industry. This is understandable, applies to our real life situations, and respects your time with it’s weekly forty-five minutes to an hour format. It’s definitely been worth adding to my podcast rotation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Great podcast and some feedback
I think that this is an exceptionally good finance podcast. I am a graduate student pursuing a PhD in finance, and I have found Meghan’s explanations of various topics to be extremely clear and helpful. There are only two points of feedback I have. First, the difference between nominal Treasuries and TIPS yields of equivalent maturities represents breakeven inflation, not expected inflation. Breakeven inflation consists of both expected inflation and the inflation risk premium (and possibly a liquidity component as well). It might seem like a minor detail, but since the inflation risk premium for the 10-year has fluctuated significantly over time, it seems worth mentioning even though it is low right now. Secondly, I thought the advice at the end of the discussion about taxes was a bit out of touch. The suggestion that the investment strategies available to the top 1% are available to anybody and that it’s as simple as saving by spending less than you make was disappointing to hear. A lot of people are unable to save money as they may not earn enough as it is and those that can save likely have a lower risk tolerance than billionaires, which affects optimal investment strategies. Furthermore, the brief point made that it’s possible that the wealthiest find ways out of paying taxes but that this point cannot be proven due to a lack of evidence is also untrue, or at the very least, downplayed. For example, IRS data has been obtained that showed that Jeff Bezos didn’t pay federal income tax in 2007, Elon Musk paid zero federal income tax in 2018, etc. I understand only wanting to report on publicly available and verified data, but I think it would be worth mentioning this information and that an investigation by law enforcement and the Treasury Department is currently underway concerning this leak. At the very least, I think more validity should be given to the notion that the richest Americans find ways to exploit tax loopholes. These are just my thoughts though, and overall I think this podcast is fantastic, and I’m always so excited when there is an update!

    Great financial podcast
I love this podcast and everything FFM does. I listen to a lot of financial podcasts but this is by far the best. So many of the financial podcasts are full of obvious fluff, but not this one. I always learn something from FFM and you can tell she puts lots of time, thought and energy into her podcast.

    Smart and easy to understand
I really enjoy this podcast! As a mom I don’t have a ton of time to stay up to speed with everything that is going on specific to finance and this podcast gives me updates on the major headlines each week. She makes it easy understand and I’m very impressed with the content.

Excellent explanation of current financial events without bias or politics
I’m a financial analyst, I work for a major bank, I review major loans for billion dollar companies. I also run a small portfolio as a hobby and I have 1 goal, crush the s&p500 return which I’m really good at. Believe me when I tell you, that economics and finances are my entire life. I initially checked her podcast out because my sister asked me to, but now it’s a great extra resource to keep me up to date. What most people don’t know, is how I watch poor financial decisions rip apart their marriages, their businesses, and their retirement. It’s kind of my job to prevent that in businesses, but Meghan is much better than I am with the day to day, the personal human aspect. Understanding finances WHICH SHE TEACHES YOU will help you in all relationships. I don’t think that’s her goal, but it’s definitely an external positive outcome. The podcast reminded me a lot of the lectures from my beloved professor Clark at university of Houston, only hers was more current events focused, the quality of content was the same. So listen in, understand what’s happening in the Economy and how it AFFECTS YOU, and it will make every part of your life better because you will take control of your finances which is the number one cause of broken families and broken lives.
