This is about a lot more than the banjo
First of all, Enda Scahill is one of the greatest living banjo players. His skill is on another level entirely. Some folks say “Bela Fleck is the Enda Scahill of the 5-string banjo. “ Enda is an entertaining talker. I think I could listen to him hold forth on any topic, but he is also a consummate listener and his guests always go deep in their stories. And….he brings such amazing guests onboard— this show is about so much more than Irish banjo or the banjo or even music. It is about community and discipline and how we should lead our lives. Every episode brings a new insight into life that I find myself thinking about later.

    Banjoreffic!
Growing up watching Hee Haw with my parents, I always enjoyed watching Roy Clark on the banjo. Then I discovered the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in college. I know understand the power and the history of this amazing music and want to learn more, luckily, we have this podcast.

Unlocking the Key to the Banjoverse
Enda has amazing access to the best banjo players in the Celtic tradition plus masters of other styles of music like Bela Fleck and Ron Block. He is an excellent interviewer who engages his guests on both personal and technical topics. Fascinating stuff! I hope he continues the podcast now that the Covid pandemic has ebbed enough that his band have resumed touring.

    Enjoyable Podcast
Enda is a great interviewer. He has an easy way about his interviews, drawing his guests out. I find the episodes interesting and educational. Well worth a listen and geek out over all the banjo and other musical nerdiness.

    Excellent Listening
Enda shows insight and knowledge, respectfully (and occasionally irreverently) asking Master Musicians about their craft. They are candid conversations with artists that are at the top of the Celtic and Bluegrass fields in banjo, guitar, fiddle and more. I look forward to listening to this every other week. It's part music, part biography and part psychology. This is like Inside the Actor's Studio for music.

    Wonderful Podcast!
I just love this podcast- Enda is a really great interviewer, with questions that draw out his subjects and that lead the conversations into unexpected territory. The first season was great, and the second is even better. The episode with Bela Fleck was so wonderful, and the Ron Block one had such gems of wisdom from both he and Enda that I need to listen again when I can take notes! Can’t wait to hear the Abigail Washburn one next!

    Love This Podcast
I have been listening to this podcast while taking walks for the past few weeks. I love the way Enda engages with his guests, and his guests have been so interesting. I really enjoyed listening to Abigail Washburn this morning. I learned things about her I didn’t know, and I appreciated her honest and open responses to Enda about her life before and after becoming a musician. These are fun conversations to listen to when you don’t want to dwell on the complicated lives we are all leading right now. Brilliantly done, Enda!!
