    Would love more depth
I came to this podcast from Backpacker Radio’s interview with host Alison Young. She and her guests are amazing! I can’t get enough hiking content but feel the episodes are a bit over-edited and -produced. I understand Young is aiming for the ~30 min length but the guests are so interesting, it seems a shame to have multiple on each short episode so you don’t hear that much from each. I like to listen to a conversation between host and guest but for length’s sake maybe, questions and transitions are edited to more quickly get to “the point” and Young does a lot of summarizing and analysis when I’d prefer to hear more from the guest. I’ll give a couple more episodes a try, the content is certainly great.

    Amazing show, love the vibe
I love this show so much. The vibe is just so relaxing but it makes me want to go on adventures! Two people I’d love to hear on the show are Joe “Stringbean” McConaughy (FKT wizard) and Christy Rosander (prolific solo female hiker).

    NPR for backpacking nerds!
The interviews and storytelling are amazing, and it’s cool to see a backpacking podcast with such high production value. I love the guests Alison is able to get on the show. Real backpackers of all skills and experiences!

    Great addition to The Trek
I really love this podcast. I think it provides a totally different but totally additive vibe to Backpacker Radio. This is fantastic.

    Awesome
This a a great podcast - yes it is well produced but the real value is in the content.

    Excellent!
Really enjoying this podcast! Excellent host, content, guests, and production values, definitely filling a niche in the hiking podcast world. No complaints so far, but I would also urge the creative team behind Walking Distance to not limit themselves solely to thru-hiking/backpacking content for future episodes. It seems as if there’s a tendency in the hiking community to look down on day hiking or section hiking and it strikes me as very exclusionary and even pretentious. Don’t get me wrong, I am very much enjoying the conversations, and I know the show specifically states a specialization in long distance hiking. But I think an inclusive focus, covering all things hiking relating, would make this already awesome podcast 100% perfect!

    The People’s Backpacking Show
I’m more of a mountain biker/climber than a backpacker, but this is so fun to listen to for anyone interested in the outdoors. Zach and Chaunce are hilarious and the guests are always super cool and inspiring.

    Thank you!!!
As someone new to the world of hiking - and an aspiring AT thru-hiker- I appreciate this podcast. I love The Trek site and blogs, so it’s natural to have moved into the podcast arena. I learn SO MUCH and the stories, personal experiences, information, etc. Keep up the great work!
