igotthis2015A Must Listen For Anyone Who Needs Help Explaining!Thank you for this! I too, related 100%. The way you capture the twisted’ness and explain it back so clearly, as a victim stuck for 25 yrs in marriage, i nodded my head this whole podcast and feel so validated for the first time by anyone! I hope I can get my loved ones to listen too so they’ll finally understand.

سارا ۱۴۳۵WowThis podcast is crazy powerful. I thought I had a solid understanding of the characteristics and methodology of domestic violence… it’s unsettling to recognize in myself some of the problematic thought patterns imbedded in our very pattern of understanding social interaction. Everyone should listen to this (and read Jess’ book “See what you made me do: The dangers of domestic abuse that we ignore, explain away, or refuse to see”).

BananaM.Essential listening for all humansThis is a thorough look into domestic violence and what actually is at the root of it. It is a fascinating listen. I am recommending it to all of the thoughtful people that I know. It should be included in high school curriculum world wide. My mind is blown!

mccallie209The TrapI have never reviewed anything but I feel compelled to recommend this podcast as I think it is something everyone should hear. I hope we can all soon change the power dynamics in our world, they are so unfair as is. If you have children you should definitely listen if only to help protect them from negative relationships in the future.

MsD2A Very Important PodcastTake the trigger warnings seriously. I had to stop 27 minutes into the first episode because I was unprepared for how much it would affect me. I went back a week later to re-listen to episode 1 and then #2 & 3. It was so worth it. I highly recommend this to anyone who is able to listen to it. As a victim-survivor, this is so validating to me. It’s given me something I have shared with close friends and family to articulate what I cannot always describe well. It’s a way to start important conversations. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has been a part of putting this together.

ChelynneCampionHeartbreaking at times, triumphant at timesI was made aware of Jess Hill’s work through ‘Real Crime Profile’ and have followed her work ever since. I have listened to a LOT of podcasts, but I have never heard one more relevant and important. This is real survivors and their children, real perpetrators, talking about what they are going through NOW, currently, sometimes even speaking at the very time they are escaping. Most media related to true crime and profiling by experts comes AFTER the fact. It’s a retrospective, a ‘what could have been done.’ This is a podcast setting itself BEFORE the end of the timeline, working to change the outcome, before it occurs. No, Jess is not a time traveler. She’s just taking what should be the obvious step of addressing what can be done to PREVENT domestic violence instead of regaling us with yet another story of victims who have already met their end and who we are too late to help. ***take the trigger warnings seriously on this pod, especially episode 3. If live recordings bother you, such as playbacks of 911 calls, it may be quite distressing. The recording played quite literally took my breath away.
