whdncuegnaLife ChangingI found this podcast after watching Dr. Shannon’s first interview on the Skinny Confidential and I have listened to this podcast every day since. I started going to the gym 1.5 years ago and really struggled with the question of if what I was doing was enough. After finding this podcast I’ve learned that what I was doing was actually way too much, breaking down my body and making me feel terrible. This podcast has not only taught me about how exercise works but also how to build healthy habits, eliminating toxins, meal plan, etc. I ended up cancelling my gym membership and signing up for EVLO 1 month ago and I have already starting noticing a huge shift in my energy levels, mood, and overall feelings towards exercise. I’m so grateful I found this podcast and cannot thank Dr. Shannon and the EVLO team enough for all of the education and the incredible app!

Sailormoon1987aSad to leaveI used to love this podcast but lately Dr. Shannon has had pseudo-scientists on, which degrades the value of her brand. Evlo and her exercise program are grounded in science but when she has people on who aren’t registered dieticians and aren’t actually educated in the things they are speaking about (Bare Nutrition and Just Ingredients) it makes me question the integrity of everything else. Hope she takes this constructive criticism because it used to be so good.

clairepurn1My favorite fitness podcast!Dr. Shannon has such a unique talent for making complex information easy to grasp. I leave every episode with tangible tips & so many takeaways. Like so many other women, I have a complicated relationship with exercise and I attribute much of my positive growth in that area to this show. Thank you, Dr. Shannon for all you do in this space!

lydmar1993The show is a master class on fitness for females! She answers a lot of the FAQs I get as a coach and trainer. This is an ideal podcast for the type-A, go-go-go, woman who is overtrained and underfed. She lays out the science in a compelling way and paints a picture of a new way to approach fitness that actually yields results and prioritizes health at the same time. I share her show with so many of my female clients.

AohollarenLOVE this pod!As a fitness professional myself for over 10 years, I continue to learn so much by listening to this podcast. I recommend it to others constantly and appreciate that the content is evidence based and teaches listeners not to give in to every fitness trend we see circulating online.

grtfitInsightful & meaningfulI always love Dr Shannon’s podcasts. I learn & think alot about what she shares. It makes a positive difference in my life and well-being for now and my healthy future. Updated 2/2023 I appreciate Dr Shannan’s honesty, knowledge and selection of what she teaches us. She provides information that actually is really helpful and relevant to our lives & workouts. Thank you Shannon for the continued podcasts. You are making a difference in my life! 💗 Updated 8/2024- still my go to podcast to learn about fitness, health & receive encouragement. Perfect podcast for people just starting out in exercise & for long timers. I love how this podcast works so well with what we are doing at EVLO too.

Mallory.usa.Top fitness podThe most informative fitness podcast out there. She not only debunks myths of social media fad workouts, but Shannon does a great job of making her information helpful to everyone. If you want to take her info into a great workout, check out EVLO fitness- she creates effective workouts with her vast science/anatomy knowledge.

lifelonglearner_mgSo informativeLove this podcast and method, Shannon! Thanks for sharing your wisdom. As someone who’s had several injuries, and have spent a lot of time doing physical therapy exercises, I’ve gained weight, so understood I needed to add muscle, but I felt unequipped going back to the gym to “try things out again and see how they feel” , fearing risk of re injury. So Shannon’s focus on nervous system as “software” - that it’s not just about the muscle “hardware” - is really instructive. Also great info about cardio workouts, stress and recovery, and in depth episodes about hormones like insulin and cortisol and impact with exercise. Would love a podcast about muscle hypertrophy and how it can improve cardiovascular health, including goals like lowering cholesterol, LDL levels, etc. Thanks for this great education!
-
CharburstVery informative and succinctI love how informative and succinct this podcast is! It’s straight to the point and full of information that I need to stay refreshed on as a fitness instructor.
-
VeganarchyInspiring!Solid information from professionals. I learn something helpful and new with every episode. Has changed the way I exercise and take care of my body.

Dr.TaylorKPhysical Therapist & Strength Coach's dream podI refer all of my patients to Evlo following physical therapy. Shannon is an extreme wealth of knowledge and I learn so much from her podcast. Her wisdom is necessary for all humans to live their most optimal lives. Thank you Shannon!
-
Rachel5875Uninformed about hormonesStating that hormones have nothing to do with the ability to lose is just wrong. I would suggest some education on menopause.
-
LeahG02Clear, sensitive, and balanced fitness informationDr Shannon is a sensitive and balanced guide through the complex world of fitness. She is great at making scientific information understandable to a lay audience. She brings on great experts to supplement her expertise. Thank you Dr Shannon!

mrl0825Life changing!I have always loved high intensity training and was very skeptical when I came across EVLO and this podcast. I was hesitant to jump into the program but after having a bad case of tendinitis in my knee I came across Dr. Shannon’s instagram page and eventually this podcast and dove into the episodes! I love how Dr. Shannon and her guests get so scientific about what’s actually happening in our bodies and what our bodies need to gain muscle! So many workout programs have users going through the motions and not seeing results. I feel a new spark for fitness after listening to all of these podcasts and am so excited for my EVLO workouts each day. They still are challenging without being so hard on my body. I am starting to get better with the mind-muscle connection and can feel muscles firing so much better than I ever have before! I’d be curious to learn more about calories and how many calories women typically need? I’ve read that we typically need more than society leads us to believe, at least 2,000+ for an active woman to maintain their weight? I find that I need way more than I previously thought but would love an episode talking more about this with a nutrition expert!

kendallebeSo informative!!!I recently found this podcast and seriously can’t get enough!! It’s quickly become a go-to resource for me. I really appreciate the educational approach Dr. Shannon takes on the topics she covers she is very transparent and everything is heavily researched. I’ve learned so much about the importance of resistance training and women building muscle in their 30’s. I wish I would have found her earlier and been more informed on the benefits of strength training, instead of just being influenced by all the health/fitness claims and marketing that’s out there. She is a breath of fresh air!! She’s an awesome example and someone to look to for credible, educational information. Thanks for the amazing episodes Shannon!!
-
Chels!.:)I look forward to this podcast everyday! This podcast is your calling! I appreciate all of your hard work and research you put into your podcasts and I love to listen. I’m building a better me with every episode! Thank you so much Dr. Shannon!

PbflowerFit Body, Happy Joints ® podcastI have been listening to Fit Body, Happy Joints ® for about a year and have been doing the exercises from Evlo along with it! First of all, Shannan and everyone else are so good to instruct first and give different options for doing exercises. They are sticklers for proper form and for the proper mentality about exercise. I have been so impressed with the teaching and I have learned so much about how to take care of my body while building muscle! I am 65 years old and I am building my soul by doing this program in addition to proper nutrition. I can’t believe how good I feel and how thankful I am that my sister-in-law told me about this program. Thank you, Shannan and for caring about passing along the way to a healthy lifestyle. Polly

corene2017Love her science based researchafter listening to a handful of podcasts, Dr. shannon made me realize that I’m likely overtraining my body. I’m week 2 into her app and I have more energy, body feels less “beat up” and muscles are toned. Thank you for inspiring me with science based research to follow your approach!! I’m a huge fan of strength training and did not want to give it up… Just had to find a way to dial it back.

kblanco87Lacking Info on ResearchI think the podcast comes off as well researched but in many episodes where research is mentioned there is not information shared on the study group. For example most studies are done on white men, not women, not POC, so it’s not completely inaccurate. It’s clear that whatever she’s putting out is to sell her workout app. It’s okay, some good info but heavily biased.

All2ridehorsesExceptional Podcast!Love, love, love this podcast! Shannon is so generous in providing immensely helpful information, particularly for those of us who have been prone to over-exercising and not seeing the results we want. And I say this from the podcast information only—I have not yet joined Evlo, her exercise platform, only because I have a series of upcoming vacations, after which I can truly focus on her method. I highly recommend listening to her series. I loved the first one I heard so much that I’ve been working my way through all of them!
-
atd2691AMAZING podcast!I could listen to her all day! Shannon provides digestible knowledge and information. I like how she emphasizes gentle consistency and that you don’t have to lift heavy to get results. Results and protect my joints? I’ll take that! I have learned so much from her and look forward to more episodes!
-
LizaP101My favorite podcast! The best podcast to listen to - Shannon only shares information from her expertise and invites guests on the show to share their expertise! The content is SO good and I trust her sources and research. Such good topics - I love thursdays because it’s new episode day!
-
Angela C JordanExcited to learn more!Starting listening because I have been a runner and pilates gal for three years and am not seeing the results I want. Was curious about weight lifting and after listening to only a few episodes, SO many of my concerns have already been addressed. I have a lot of great lifestyle habits already (no alcohol, quality sleep, daily movement) but am ready to take my fitness to the next level. Excited to keep listening and learn more about how to not only achieve my goals but look and feel my best!
-
Lauren BozonA+ podcast in all aspects!Shannon is very gifted in distilling lots of complicated research into a comprehensible “serving” of information that you can take with you and use immediately. She doesn’t pack too much information into one episode that it’s impossible to digest or remember. I also really appreciate that she is incredibly efficient in her delivery — she is friendly and personable, yet doesn’t waste her listeners’ time with “fluff”. She gives enough examples to illustrate her points, but not so much that it becomes redundant or tedious. Just really well done.

BP WriterGreat podcast, great host and content!Recently came across the Fit Body, Happy Joints podcast and am really enjoying it. Really appreciated the episode about how to use (and not) use fitness wearables. Also, the episode with Registered Dietitian, Esosa Osagiede, about carb cycling. This was such a clear explanation of the process and so helpful! So many amazing takeaways! Can't wait to listen to more episodes! Thank you!
-
daisymay28So helpful! This wonderful has answered so many of my questions & I feel informed and empowered. Highly recommend. Thank you!

MMAdkinsIncredibly Helpful Fitness KnowledgeI started listening to these podcasts due to my lower back pain/interest in managing it through fitness, and since then I have also begun the Evlo Fitness program. I am so very thrilled with the quality of these podcasts and how helpful the knowledge is for my year before 40 fitness journey. Used in combo with the Evlo program, I am seeing such great results!! Definitely my favorite health and fitness podcast out there!
-
LeahSapiraShannon gives us so much!I have been a longtime listener and member of Evlo (Shannon and team’s strength building program app). This podcast is most effective when used as a companion to Evlo, but it’s also a great way to begin learning about the body, mind, fitness, mechanics, etc. Shannon gives us so much in terms of knowledge and resources — she doesn’t take on advertisers, keeps the episodes super succinct but jam packed with info. Because of her, I’m able to truly believe that rest is just as important (if not more) in the process of building strength as the workout is. I even re-listen to old episodes because they are so satisfying, and I integrate something new that I might have missed the first go-round.
-
msgeteAwesome Podcast!!She is interesting and seems to hv her own personal experience with the subject she is talking about .. She is kind but direct with the information to educate you on. Looking forward to listening to more of these but also working on my Leanness for 2024 !!

lmancuso87The info we all need!I used to be very in-tune with my body, but after years of over-consuming generalized information on social media, mostly by influencers, I found myself lost. I’m someone who likes to understand the ‘why’ behind everything, not just the trending headline. Enter: Fit Body, Happy Joints. After listening to this podcast for a few months, I finally understand my body and it’s needs better than ever. I am so appreciative of the knowledge and research Dr. Shannon puts into every episode. She explains complex topics in a manner which is easy to understand, and without bias: just the facts. I love listening to new episodes while walking my dogs, and then working out immediately after. The podcast episodes always leave me feeling more connected to my body, and as a result, I get more out of my workouts (especially when the knowledge is fresh in my mind). After listening to this podcast for months and trying other fitness programs with mediocre results, I finally signed up to be an Evlo member. I’m so excited to use the science-backed programming and resources to become even stronger and healthier.

TexZen CyndiSo relatable and actionable information, but not dumbed down.I consistently get a lot out of these episodes! I’ve been avidly interested and engaged in personal health, nutrition and fitness for a couple of decades now, and have easily listened to over a 1000 hours of podcasts on these subjects. Dr. Shannon has a way presenting ideas in concise and fresh ways. This is so helpful for staying interested, injury-free and motivated for workouts. One of her talents (of many) is being relatable and practical, but not dumbing-down the understanding.

HJF92122A must listen! This podcast is enjoyable and interesting to listen to and Dr. Shannon does a fantastic job of making science based and research backed information easy to understand and implement. She cuts through the “influencer” junk so you can focus on what you need to get results and stop beating yourself up. Also - huge applause for no commercials! I don’t feel like I’m being bombarded will a sales pitch. THANK YOU!
-
Evlo FanTop favs!!Every topic is relevant and interesting. She is able to communicate so well!

Angelt11Love it!!These podcasts are the best! I find myself having to replay and take notes with some of the episodes like I’m in college. Just that informative and stuff most people just don’t know! The Dr. Ben Bikman episode is my absolute favorite. I’m total groupies of you and him now! Thanks for all you put into this. It’s obvious you have found your true passion!!💖

ShanNashvilleLearning so much - great podcast to add to your weekly listens!I listen to this podcast often when I’m meal prepping, cooking, or driving. KCP.T.Shannon is so articulate! As a fellow PT, I am so impressed by how Shannon can articulate the key points on a subject. It’s evident how much time she spends researching the topic and then finding the most concise and helpful way to say it all!! Highly recommend this podcast and also Evlo Fitness! You are great, Shannon!

sarahaugustroseBEST PODCASTMost informative, research-backed podcast I’ve come across! Real industry expert(s) who thoroughly review science-based studies on each topic and don’t speak to issues outside their expertise without bringing on an expert or sharing objective measures from reviewed literature! Shannon (and her team) do an amazing job of bringing their audience true knowledge on topics within the fitness industry while debunking unsupported terminology and claims that can lead the average layperson astray. I have learned so much from this content and absolutely LOVE the EVLO exercise program as well! Such a quality podcast and fitness program (although they are not completely tied together) through and through!!

scoopiniLife changing !At age 50, I am finally not in pain everyday from too much or the wrong kinds of workouts. Listening to these podcasts made me a believer in Dr.Shannon and I became an EVLO member . I’ve been practicing EVLO for 1 yr and am in the best shape of my life and feel the best too. I wish she was around 30yrs ago when I started working out - thinking I was helping my body but I was really hurting it. These podcasts are so informative and she backs everything up with studies and research . It’s not just a random influencer and their opinions to make money . Thank you, Shannon, for providing this education!
