CuauhtemocDeep dive into people you would love to know more aboutHeard about this podcast at a the ST CHI convention and I am so glad I did! It’s an intimate conversation where their background and outlook are explored in depth. Thank you Gates McFadden for this wonderful show!

Ranegirl1AmazingI found this through listening to The Delta Flyers and I’m hooked! The honesty and humaneness that Gates and her guests share brings me to tears and laughter. Thank you, Gates!

Mrs.MospazzFascinating host and guests!I love the way Gates relates with her guests. So many amazing stories. I hope she continues with a new season. This really is a special thing she is doing that doesn’t just copy others’ styles of interview podcasting. Bravo to such a multi-talented and intriguing person!

*R!K*Like meeting up with (my) old friends!I love the rapport and story telling on this show. All of Gates’ guests are familiar and fun! They are authentic and brilliant and their stories are a testament. Every guest is a person I’ve enjoyed on the screen and then hearing them in this setting only reinforces the feeling that I would feel very comfortable just having a conversation with them! (No small talk though!) Thanks for this. I’m all in! -Rick

dene113Brilliant!I so love the easy conversation with fellow Treksters! My only request is to please change the “Mary had a little lamb” theme. I’m sorry, it’s not my cup of tea. It’s not the tune, rather it’s the instrument playing it that grates .
-
JBFan010Pure delightI love and cherish this podcast. Gates is a skillful and engaging host. Season 3 pls!!

Galvatron47Really great insights and a great interviewerAs a long time Star Trek fan, this was something that I was going to check out. Ms. McFadden is a very insight interviewer and asks a lot of interesting and thought provoking questions. A lot of the interview subjects are people she is familiar with, which gives an instant rapport but she makes the most of it by asking very acute and meaningful questions. The best thing about this podcast is seeing the people behind the characters we all know and love. It’s been a joy to hear about the lives, pasts and stories about the people who sit down for this podcast. It’s been a real experience to hear about so many other topics that make up these peoples lives. Definitely look forward to every episode.

Coco NolaWonderful podcastGates has had manning callings but wow… such a great interviewer! Amazing to hear such personal stories and insights from her friends/cast mates. The Kate Mulgrew episode is particularly captivating, but honestly all the interviews thus far have been amazing and I’m looking forward to more!

Karidian of KodosTalk less, listen moreI love Gates, but she barely gives her guests an opportunity to speak

AdmiralStarkillerPlease state the nature of the medical emergencyThis has been such a wonderful audio treat to indulge during my daily commute to and from work. I love how intimate, lively and loving this podcast series has been (the Wil Wheaton was par excellence) I have a ten hour drive from Cali to New Mexico for a marathon in the desert and this may just fit the bill. It not only talks about the show it adds a human aspect to the very people that play such role models. Looking forward to hearing more guests, more stories, more heartfelt and wholesome interactions. Make it so.

StoneturkQuestionsI listened to all the podcasts so far really liked them but the last one seemed edited I have questions why… Gates love the stories but I dislike feeling like I am cut out of the content. Still much love much respect! Please bring in JG Hertzler for a conversation!
-
balletgirl1980Really wonderfulThe first episode was like being a voyeur between two old friends. With a bit of parenting mentorship thrown in. I’m looking forward to hearing additional episodes. The episode with Kate Mulgrew makes me wish I had such intellectual friends to discuss all the topics.

FooFighter559Doesn't Matter if I Can't Hear ItReally enjoyed the first season. I like Gates' interview style and personality and have found her guests interesting. BUT, my god, the sound is garbage. I don't remember it being as bad in the first season but I tried listening to the Shatner interview and I can barely hear what's being said. I mean, it's embarassing to release a podcast with such poor sound quality.
-
DukeGrahamJust need to adjust the sound level… (too low)I thoroughly enjoyed the latest episode with William Shatner… The only problem is the volume was mixed so low that I nearly had to max out my system in order to hear it clearly. Please, when you have a chance, have it remastered, and increase the volume.

shipwreckbluesPerfectGates is so wonderful, a gorgeous person inside and out, and as I am finding out, a fantastic interviewer. I can’t wait for interviews with more cast members — from DS9, Voyager, Enterprise, Discovery, Strange New Worlds and even Prodigy 🖖 That would be so fun! Thank you for this pod Gates, you may not have intended it as restorative, but I needed this dose of smiles and laughter from some of my favorite people 🙏

TrekkieTreyTheTrekkerWow!Thank you for creating this wonderful podcast!

LinnyR77More, please!!!Great podcast, even if you aren’t a fan of Star Trek. After two years of not seeing people in person, this is a great tool to learn how to have a conversation again. Absolutely loved the questions and the combination of fun and funny with deep and important.

plspriskaTypicalTons of self importance, zero self awareness.

LuckyPenny36Thank you 💖Thank you SO SO SO much for making this. I love it and will listen to any trek related person you want to interview!! Please do a part 2 with Michael Westmore!! My mom (who is the reason I watched TNG since birth) and I were crazy about Face Off and watching him mentor the contestants was so lovely and wonderful. Truly, thank you for the gift of these interviews and asking actually interesting questions.

OronzadelphiaPleasantly surprised!I’m shocked by how much I’ve enjoyed this podcast. I’m generally not a fan of conversational podcasts, but Gates elevates the form to a whole other level. Mixing effortlessly the fun and frivolous with the deep and serious, this podcast is like eavesdropping on the most fascinating and intimate conversation between good friends. I feel like I want to jump in and participate! Trek fan or not, listening to this podcast is a perfect remedy for the isolation and loneliness so many of us have experienced in our pandemic-ravaged era.

GatesIsGreat1987Loving InvestiGATESThis podcast has taken me by surprise. I feel like I’m listening to a private conversation because of the openness of the guest’s answers and Gates interviewing process that doesn’t feel forced or cringe worthy. We’re given so many new an interesting stories. It’s fun, heartwarming and historic. It’s wonderful to hear that these people who have worked together for so long, get along and continue to have special relationships. Thank you Gates, for sharing and inviting us on this special journey.

PhlllipJFryA podcast for trekkiesGreat podcast!

captnzenExquisite Convo!!!I follow Gates on Twitter & just saw a reference to her podcast. Jumped in to the Denise Crosby interview. Doc Crusher has a warm, empathetic & INTELLIGENT interview style. So many podcasts are dumbed down it made this one ☝️ stand out all the more. Loved 🥰 all the theatre 🎭 chat between the two of them. Massive thumbs up 👍!!
-
CblackwolfGreat podcast! Not only are these star trek actors and support staff but the questions by Gates are interesting and thought provoking. She’s a great host. Hope for more!
-
Black FangirlThis is a podcast for artists!During the pandemic, I have retreated into revisiting beloved shows of my youth…one of which was Star Trek: TNG. Discovering this podcast has been such a treat…not just as a fan of the show, but if you are a fan of the arts, listening to some of these conversations is almost like a virtual syllabus of great artists and their admiration and study of other greats…in film, music, sports, and so on. If you nerd out on theater and the arts as much as Star Trek, then you will *really* love this podcast!
-
Maurice FrankLove it!As a Star Trek fan, it is always fascinating to hear from the actors and crew and to learn more about who they are and what else they have done. Gates McFadden makes this so enjoyable with her excellent choice of guests and the genuine camraderie she establishes during the delightful conversations. Well done, highly recommended.

This Nickname is taken 1963Awesome PodcastStarted listening because I listen to most Wil Wheaton podcasts and really enjoyed Gates interview style. After listening to all so far, who knew there were so many dancers, Taylor’s and Furniture Stores involved with the young lives of Star Trek Stars!
-
Becca-12345Looking for something differentLove it! It’s so wonderful to hear about everyone! Especially love how Gates connects differently to everyone. It’s a truest fascinating show
-
Paul 86538Too much politicsWhy talk about politics on this show? All supporters of Trump are not racist. Wil Wheaton said Stacy Abrams was his celebrity crush. I stopped listening right then.
-
ScewterI’m inspired. This podcast makes me want to interview my friends now too!
-
IsaNYCGates McFaddenGates McFadden is a brilliant interviewer- thoughtful and incisive. Her questions are always gentle, yet cut to the heart of inquiry about the topic being discussed.

WhatABlast23!UniqueThis podcast is unique among podcasts. Gates McFadden brings along her colleagues but, refreshingly, their shared ST universe is among the last topics of conversation. The conversation with Nana Visitor was at turns informative, revealing, enlightening, inspirational and heartwarming. Notably, after listening first to the Will Wheaton interviews, and recalling how many times he had to be reminded to ask his host for her response to a general topic, I was very pleased to see that no such prompting was necessary for Nana Visitor. Shared intimacies and mutual concerns between women. Beautiful.

Jonnyb098A pleasant surprise! At first I wasn’t sure if I’d like this format of non-trek talk. MAN WAS I WRONG! This turned out to be a very pleasant surprise, learning more about the real people and experiences behind my favorite show. It’s very entertaining , funny and informative. As a trekker this is a MUST LISTEN!

chico9726A Delight.Gates is a delightful host who leads
-
HausdeGusSublimeI love how Gates McFadden makes the interview less formal and more casual conversation. It gives a unique insight into people I grew up watching on one my favorite shows. Thank you and keep doing what you are doing! ❤️

Soozy-QMy new favorite podcastThis podcast is wonderful! The interviews are really conversations, and there is something for everyone. I always come away thinking about something new.
-
StarfiaThe open Gates. There are lots of interviews with classic Star Trek team, and we love them all – but Gates makes them seem shallow and repetitive by comparison. She aims deeper, churning up insight into what brought them to the bite-sized opinions which are typically the full entrée, and she’s up for sharing as much as she unearths.
-
5implegsmerSomething to look forward tooI enjoy this so much. She’s a great interviewer. You’ll laugh you’ll cry and feel like your part of the conversation. I love Star Trek grew up with TNG so listening to how close these actors are there a family! It’s awesome and truly brightens my day. it’s just really fun to listen I can’t wait who she’ll interview next!
-
ItalianoStudLovelyAs a huge Star Trek fan, it is so much fun to get a glimpse into the real life of these people who portray these characters we have come to love. Very eloquently done. Bravo, Gates!
-
SteveThorFantasticGates McFadden is the kind of conversationalist I enjoy engaging with and listening to. The episodes are heartfelt, funny, tearful. Some of the topics are eye-opening and enduring. I do enjoy laughing outloud along with Gates and guest. Great podcast.
-
NAS32:)Perfect for Star Trek Lovers!Thank you for doing this podcast! It’s so nice to hear the familiar voices of the Star Trek cast members and to get a glimpse into their lives. This brings me so much joy!
-
McDuck1977Interesting for those that really love the TNG actorsNearly every question she asks the guest comes back to her and some story from her past. She tries to be humble, but it comes off as a “humble brag” at best, “pompous” at worst. She lets her politics seep into the conversation; there’s a lot of straw man arguments and one-side, echo chamber comments (of course, it’s not a news podcast and no one should entirely base their beliefs on what an entertainer thinks) On the plus side, she delves into topics that aren’t the usual “convention questions” (ie, what was it like to work with xxxx? What was your favorite episode?”). It will be interesting when she runs out of Trek actors she knows and if her style adapts…or if the podcast will be a “limited run.”

STC's Eagle ScoutInsightful podcastThis has been a great podcast that is so insightful. This tells me stuff I have not been aware of before. I enjoyed hearing what everyone’s family life was like and where everyone was like before Star Trek. I have found Jonathan Frakes Interview really interesting with family all listening to Jazz. I have actually listened to it twice to share it with my parents. I enjoyed hearing that he worked with Christopher Reeves. I have enjoyed the entire interview with Brent Spiner and played it with my mom in the car. I found that interesting hearing about his family heritage coming to America and ending up in Texas. I thought it was interesting about Nana Visitor and family being dance teachers or kids being taught to be quiet at work from an early age. It was also enlightening listening to her being kidnaped at one time. That was news to me that this event happened at all. I felt like the one that was pretty insightful was the Wil Weaton episodes. I have seen him on Star Trek, Disney’s Flubber, The Big Bang Theory and the YouTube show Table Top. However I was completely unaware of Wil Weston’s family and parents. So it was ensightful and made me feel more sympathetic towards Wil Weaton as a person. It made me feel sorry and wish that we knew this sooner to see more from Wil Weaton. I never realized Wil Weaton felt the Star Trek Cast was more of a family than his actual family. I knew Wil Weaton was tight with the Next Generation cast but never realized even from watching the Convention panels on YouTube how close as a family Wil saw the cast. I never even realized how tight Wil and Jonathan Frakes were on the show. I remember hearing at the 25th Anniversary Panel he would like to portray Riker but never knew where that inspiration came from till this show. I hope this Podcast continues because I would enjoy to hear more insights beyond just the actors but Star Trek behind the scenes crew members.
-
DarkscydeA great listen, but not what I expected.Up front, if you’re looking for interviews/discussions about Star Trek, this isn’t that podcast. Gates does in depth conversations about Trek actors lives outside of Star Trek. Feels more like two friends just having a chat, and I’m here for it.
-
uduranInvestiGates is awesome!I have found this podcast to be a most insightful visit with the guests as well as the host. The conversations are always warm as well as entertaining and even informative. As a listener, I almost feel like I’m just listening to a couple of friends talk. Great job!
-
E. Patrick LyonsI love this podcast! The first time I even heard of Gates McFadden was when I started watching Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1987. Ever since then, the voices on this podcast have been part of the soundtrack of my life. Gates McFadden is a perfect podcast host. She’s the kind of friend everyone would love to have. She’s the kind of person people open up to and tell everything to. Her honest caring shines through the podcast medium. I listened to the first seven episodes of this podcast within 24 hours. The conversations Gates McFadden had with her former Star Trek cast mates were so engrossing that I didn’t want to leave the world Gates created. I can’t wait for more!!
