I love every episode! These two are smart and adorable.They’ve taught me about what they do—writing and variety performance—and in the process helped me think about about choice and habit, hard work and inspiration. In the most charming, honest way, they talk with each other about what’s behind the process of sending something you create out into the world.

I have no imagination but I do have a lot of junk. I also don’t have the creativity of Bill Barol and Mat Ricardo, so if they want to talk about how to find ways to be creative, I’m all ears. It turns out they do, and in the most entertaining way imaginable. Where have you ever heard a discussion about style while Gorilla Monsoon is mentioned in the same sentence? It’s fun, it’s helpful. It deserves a wide audience. Give it a listen.

This podcast helps to describe how creativity works. This topic is always so hard to articulate. Both co-hosts bring insight, experience, clarity and even “magic” in ways that are inspirational and educational. Highly recommended.

Bill Barol's latest podcast is a wonderful exploration of creativity and imagination. The conversation between Bill and Mat is well worth listening to. It will give you plenty to think about and maybe even the urge to create.

I've been a big fan of Bill Barol's for years, ever since HOME. When I found out he was finally doing another podcast again, I had to subscribe immediately, and this one does not disappoint. Can't wait for more episodes!

Is one of them my uncle? Yes. Is it a great podcast? Also, yes. A highly enjoyable conversation between two lifelong entertainers about creativity— what inspires it, how to tap into it, and more.

A wonderful meditation on how we create and how we keep going when we’re up against it. The first episode alone saved me from questioning all my prior professional decisions, so I’m pretty grateful for that.

While looking for a new podcast I came across “Imagination and Junk”, a really unique podcast that discusses the process of creativity and everything involved with creating anything; a joke, a story, a film… it’s like nothing I’ve heard before and I’m looking forward to seeing where they go with it!!!

I listen to a lot of podcasts, but haven't ever heard one discussing how to approach creativity. Bill Barol + Mat Ricardo play off one another beautifully, and I loved hearing about the differences -- and similiarities -- in the way a performer and writer approach their work. (It's also really nice to listen to a show with such high production quality and sound design.) I'll definitely come back for more.
