    Sam Levy - A genius!
Finding an episode of Sam Levy talking about “Lady Bird,” “Frances Ha,” and “While We’re Young” was a dream! The first two are my favorite coming-of-age films, and being able to hear how the cinematographer was influenced before and while making this project a reality confirms the depth and expertise I attribute to the artist. KID CUDI | ALAN POUL
As a big Kid Cudi fan, his music itself speaks to his audiences, but also produces these visuals and incites imagination within all of us. Then, when he came out with the animated films to coincide with vibrant stories being told, everything seemed to come to life. To hear the inspiration, how it stemmed from reading and breathing these comics, to making his own, is simply gold. “A broad understanding of humanity”: necessary for artistry, for encapsulating written people, their life, their culture, and their language. But, also necessary for being human, having empathy and the ability to accept.

    The Creative Process—Film and TV
As with all of the Creative Process’s channels, the multifaceted interviews that this podcast produces fosters a fruitful dialogue between many aspects of arts, culture, and society; compiling the voices of the hosts, co-hosts, anchors, and—foremost—the artists themselves, the Creative Process forges a space that encourages diverse perspectives, a surfeit of artistic approaches, and a commentary on contemporaneous issues, all distinct within the throughline of this project at large! Definitely worth a listen!

    Simple Gratification
Getting to slip into the minds of different creatives, learning more about their roles and processes, gives an immense sense of gratification. I love getting to hear from the cinematographers who’ve worked on projects I genuinely enjoy watching, but listening to writers, producers, and showrunners explore their own processes and mindsets has helped shift my own way of thinking and my approach for personal projects. There’s a level of depth and personal touch to these stories that I always enjoy hearing.

    Healing
I’ve been recovering from an injury lately, which has made certain forms of activity inconvenient and others impossible. I’d listened to this channel before, but recently much more so to get recommendations for new film/TV/music to enrich the extra time I have during recovery. What I found even more valuable were the experiences of the people behind the media, which resonated with mine across their creations. There are too many examples, but listening to Etgar Keret deliberate his relationship with pain, and Max Richter contemplate the importance of silence and the syncing of mind with physiology, have made me rethink the newfound stasis of my days and how to live with it and even turn it into a creative force. I felt less alone. And of course it is wonderful to discover more about the narrative, musical, cinematographic, etc. philosophy behind a work I love, such as Arrival (with Max Richter again - I’m obsessed with the original Ted Chiang short story and it’s incredible to hear it sonically captured) and Lady Bird (Sam Levy).

From the cinematography to the process of writing I left with so much new knowledge about so many different artists and directors. I really enjoyed the most recent podcast with director John Patrick Shanley. The podcast was engaging and I have found something new listening to it every time.

Though I am not a film junkie, I find this podcast extremely alluring in the way that it grabs you through your own curiosity. They say that a state of curiosity or creativity fuel learning and focus. I believe that’s why I find myself getting lost in this podcast. Great way to learn but to also find your own area of curiosity.

    10/10!
A fantastic way to further understand your favorite cinema. This channel provides a space for films and tv to be explained by the creators. In the Ali Schouten interview its so interesting to her her story of how she came to be the youngest female paramount producer! Which is amazing, but also she provides an amazing insight that is hard to attain otherwise!

    True to its name
This podcast is true to its name in the sense that it really does do a deep dive into the creative processes which exist behind leading actors, writers, directors, etc. Whether you’re looking for inspiration yourself, or just interested in the “behind the scenes” of the media that surrounds you, this podcast is for you!

    Wonderful
I have never seen the arts treated as lovingly as this podcast does, and it’s absolutely refreshing. I think it’s easy to overlook the process of art and creation and focus essentially on the product, but hearing these stories outlined from those who’ve dedicated their lives to their work offers beautiful insight on the role that emotion, intelligence, and personal experience plays in their construction. Beautifully done.

    Amazing!
Caroline Thompson’s podcast was very informative. As an aspiring screenwriter, I found this podcast to be incredibly inspiring and interesting. It’s so great to hear about her life story and how she wrote the script of one of my favorite movies, Edward Scissorhands. I love her advice on how if you want to be a screenwriter you should watch movies. I totally agree with her.

    An Appreciated Nuance
The podcast takes on both fresh and veteran interviews with thought provoking discussion. The podcast market is saturated with a over abundance of a similar “type” of interview or meaningless discussion. This is where The Creative Process distinguishes itself regarding arts, culture, the environment, politics, and science.
