If you know fighting games you know Justin, Max, and Matt. I love the different perspectives these guys bring to all sorts of FGC topics, large and small, from the professional to the casual angle.

I’ve listened to a few episodes now and enjoy the conversation, but the ads are ridiculous. Feels like an ad every couple minutes and they’re just put in mid conversation with no warning, hurting the flow. Sometimes even the same ad three times in a row. I get needing to make your money, but it’s really off putting.

This is a fantastic podcast that covers everything that is fighting games. However I have two complaints. 1. The ads are numerous and put in the oddest places. They put the ads in when the guys are mid-sentence & the volume goes up. I get that they want to get some extra money, but put a little effort in to put ads in where the subject changes. 2. Matt McMuscles can be straight irritating a lot of the time. He’s tries to be funny, but it comes off as super corny. He consistently interrupts Max & Justin too. Wish he could be replaced with someone else within the FGC like Yipes, Tasty Steve, Sajam, Smug, etc.

If you like fighting games or want to like them , this is the best place to start

When You Need A Fighting Game Podcast Accept No Substitutes. Only video game related podcasts I listen to these days.

I absolutely love this podcast. Hearing these three geek out about fighting games is so fun and informative. Couldn’t be a bigger fan of them. That being said, whoever is editing the show should up the overall volume. It’s hard to notice that it’s too low until an ad comes on and completely blasts your face off.

I’m a huge fan of Matt McMuscles’ work and I’m glad I’ve been introduced to Max & Justin through this show. I’m not even into fighting games but I love hearing their takes.

I’m so glad this podcast is a thing. It constantly reminds me of my arcade days while still offering commentary on modern fighting games. Whoever has the clicky mouse, we’ve got issues. Great show, kept it up!

I’m glad the hosts are taking time from their schedules to put this show together. Their insightful perspectives and knowledge of the Fighting Game Community or “FGC” (as it’s known by those within it) are entertaining and informative, covering history and current topics. What’s baffling is the jarring and disruptive way advertisements are interspersed throughout the show, especially considering the combined production experience of these three and the quality of their other published work (YouTube). I don’t care that ads exist, it’s the lack of care for how they’re done that’s just terrible. It’s especially notable that podcast reviews mentioning the ad issue were talked about on the show, more in a condescending way than anything, yet nothing has been done to make it better.

Excellent show, I’m loving every episode and hearing the hosts commentary and chemistry. Just what I was looking for.

Enjoy the content for the most part, but the ad placement and frequency, on top of scripted ad reads is really bad. 30 second skip button is a must for this Pod.

This podcast keeps getting reccomened to me beause one of them were on the SBFC so anytime I go listen to those episodes this pops up like a punch to the face and a missing of the point. Let the man move on from his previous job, itunes. I respect his choice but stop connecting him back to where he quit from. I find it rude to him. I dont have any interest in listening to this respecting his wishes

Critique: Ads are sporadic at best, having them mid conversation is annoying which could turn off listeners. As stupid as it sounds, you need someone to basically go “We’ll be right back.” Let the ad(s) happen then go “Welcome back” then continue. Idea: Cult Classics. Games with a small fanbase whether they are a struggling game series or the series had died off.

I’ve been looking for a fighting game centered podcast for a while, and this is definitely the best one out there. All three of these guys are great and bring expert viewpoints from multiple angles. I hope they can keep this up, because every episode so far has be wonderful.

TKO’s laser-focused approach to fighting game discussion is for very specific gaming fans AT FIRST. When they get into the meat-and-potatoes of FGC discussion, mechanics, marketing, etc. even the most casual of casuals will find funny, insightful, and HYPE conversations well worth their time. A podcast well worth sacrificing your friends for more time on the clock.

These gents are an awesome combination to bounce off each other while just chilling and talking about fighting games. Followed Max and Matt for a really long time so I always love to see them interact. Justin’s outlooks are always a great addition too.

I’ve been following these guys on YouTube for a long time, so it’s always a good time to hear more from them. Very insightful and funny. These three make a good team.

Great podcast , Maximilian and Justin are legends in the FGC . Great production and easy listening.

Matt holds the podcast back, wish it wasn’t as structured

The content of the podcast is interrupted but poorly inserted dynamic ads. A host will be mid sentence and interrupted. And then jarringly continues after the ad spot. Please amplace a breaks at designated intervals please.

Listening to these 3 esteemed gents feels like I’m chatting about my favorite video game genre whilst waiting to get back on the stick. Love it. 🎮

I discovered each of these guys separately so when I found out they were making a collaborative show I make sure to tune it every time. Keep up the good work guys!

Take a shot every time they say “rollback netcode”

I’ve tried numerous fighting game podcasts, but I always bounce because they don’t cater to what I’m looking for. Triple KO hits the sweet spot for me. It features three seasoned and knowledgeable personalities talking about the games, characters, and culture of fighting games, leaving the community drama and in-the-weeds competitive recaps to the side. It’s conversational and spontaneous without being an unfocused mess, and the audio production is great.

I have followed Max for many years now and have checked in on Justin many times. Ive been wanting a podcast as fun and enjoyable as this. Fighting games finally have a podcast that even casual players will enjoy. Please check it out!

Finally, a Fighting game podcast with hosts I actually know and respect. These guys know what they’re talking about and they’re funny too.

Great show. Really enjoying the fighting game talk so far. A great range of fighting game fan perspectives.

I haven’t played a fighting game since Alpha 3, but Max and Justin are such good representatives of the FGC that I still keep eyes, and now ears, on the scene.

Love listening to fighting game talk. As a Capcom kid in the 90’s who grew up on SF2 on SNES, and Saturn ports of all the great 90’s CPS-2 games, this podcast is a dream come true!
