This smart and funny podcast is exactly what I needed to relive all of my favorite moments from OFMd (which, let’s be honest, is all of it.) Both hosts are an absolute delight.

I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve relistened to these episodes because I’ve lost track. I’ve been here since the beginning and y’all take me out. You have the sharpest queerest takes, amazing rapport, and contagious laughter. Thank you Jessie and Lark for talking it through as a crew. Getting so hype for OFMD S2 now that filming has wrapped by rewatching/relistening, and who knows, maybe we’ll get a second Hot Pirate Summer.

Really enjoyable, loved listening and hearing the little moments and tidbits I missed from the show, plus all the context / history/ analysis. Really appreciate hearing queer voices/ perspectives engaging with the show, it just delivers on another level. Segment names are super cute too.

This is such a great podcast! I was overjoyed to find this treasure trove of Our Flag Means Death queer commentary. I listen as soon as a new episode is released, it’s just a delight.

I ADORE the Hashtag Ruthless podcasts—they’re funny, queer, feminist, and really attentive to issues of race and colonialism. Okay I know that could make this show sound boring, but it isn’t! Their genuine joy for this show and what it does is a delight in every episode. Stop reading this and just listen!

I listened to The Gayly Prophet, so when Hashtag Ruthless Productions said they were starting a podcast about Our Flag Mean Death, I knew o had to listen. It does not disappoint!! Lark and Jessie examine the show with such detail and humor!! It’s also lovely to listen to a show where they don’t have to talk about how problematic the source material is! (If you don’t know The Gayly Prophet is a chapter by chapter review of the Harry Potter books.) I highly recommend this and all their podcasts!!

I was so happy to discover that an OFMD podcast existed and was beyond thrilled when I was it was the Hashtag Ruthless Production folks doing it! It’s a joy to revisit each episode this way — feels like delighting over the show with great friends.

Very enjoyable podcast! I love the titles of each section - what a fun way to weave in show elements. This has been a great way to ignore current awfulness in the world and fill any time when I’m not just watching the show again and again. Also, I’ve seen the show multiple times, but still they’ve picked up on details I hadn’t (like Ed mentioning death by large cat?). Thanks for the laughs!

The best day of the week is when a new hashtag ruthless pod drops, but most especially now when a new pirate pod drops!! Lark and Jessie are phenomenal hosts, they’re cool and kind and queer. They’re an absolute joy to spend time with. I’ll celebrate anything these two make for as long as they choose to make it. I can’t say enough good things about the podcasts they produce, stop wasting time reading my review and go listen already!!

What a delightful podcast for one of the best shows of the year! I loved Our Flag Means Death and this podcast had me laughing while reliving the show. I loved hearing so many details I missed when watching. Jessie and Lark are awesome. Adding this show to my summer self-care routine.

Those folks are great and all their podcasts are great too. You will laugh out loud multiple times, I guarantee it.

Barely past the intro and I’m already smiling, a cautionary warning to all new listeners that Jessie and Lark are the types of host that will make it hard to stop from laughing on the subway. Getting to listen to this is really brightening my day :)

Jessie and Lark are so funny and have such good takes. They mention a lot of specific details which is very cool. I already liked this TV show and I will definitely like it more with every episode. It's nice to hear the hosts finally talk about media they really enjoy and have very little bad things to say about (AKA not Harry Potter). Although their Harry Potter podcast is also very good!

This show is fantastic! Full of heartfelt appreciation and adoration for OFMD that won’t shy away from holding characters (and creators where applicable) accountable for harmful actions. Listen for hilarious takes, favorite things, and finding wonderful puns you may have missed in your watch of OFMD!
