    So good.
As a fellow entrepreneur and boss lady in the professional services business, this podcast has been a lifeline and one that I recommend to all of my colleagues who are newly branching out on their own!

    A friend in the business
I started listening to Scope Creep a few months ago. As a fairly new freelancer, this podcast has felt like a candid conversation about the things I worry and wonder about, the things I deal with, and the things I usually need to figure out on my own. It’s like you’ve befriended someone who’s done it before, and you’ve asked them a question as you sit together in a coffee shop. This is now one of my top podcasts.

Where have you been all my life?
I tuned in while dealing with a bad case of Scope Creep, and stayed for the fun, honest take on working for yourself in a creative field. Thank you!

    I hate vision boards

    Very Helpful!
I love this podcast. It has so much useful information. It is honest, straightforward and hilarious. I especially love the episode about barriers; specifically imposter syndrome. I feel like every other entrepreneur, designer, etc. talks about imposter syndrome, and how you should have it. I felt like I was doing things wrong, because I didn’t feel like an imposter. They brought up an excellent point that it can be an insidious trap to keep women questioning themselves. Imposter syndrome never sat right with me, and it was validating to hear them speak on that, as well. I have found every episode to be enlightening and enriching.

    Cerebral, authentic & accurate
l listened to the entire podcast yesterday and am hooked! You guys do such a great job really diving into the actual realities of solopreneurship in a very raw, cerebral yet detailed perspective. What you guys are doing will turn the falsified glamorization of solopreneurship on its side and bring to life the raw reality of it — good, bad, not so glam, and beautiful. Thanks for creating such a brilliant narrative that we can all more than benefit from! Stoked about it.

    Realistic and valuable
I listen to this podcast during my short lunch at my very involved startup job. The hosts present a maybe unpopular but a very realistic and valuable perspective. Speaking as people, not as someone trying to one up someone else. I challenge you to be vulnerable, to listen and be true to yourself. There is too much corporate hustle tinting the vision and squashing the happiness of so many these days. Thanks for being real. Party on.

    Get to the content
For a new show, it’s a bit indulgent for the hosts to start with updates on their week when new listeners don’t know them and want to sample the show’s main content. Tried skipping ahead but they were still going on about themselves. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Chock full of practical advice, said straight
I’ve built an independent consulting practice and have even coached a few hundred others in building theirs. Bottom line, Liz and Jaimie are serving a dose of practical advice — in a fun, consumable format — that anyone who is serious about building an independent path needs to tune into. Can’t wait for the next episode!

    A big fat THANK YOU!
This is the podcast I’ve been looking for. Please keep going. Just listened to latest episode about girl boss red flag and was like YEEESSS! This needs to be discussed much more. Not only does it prey on people but sadly it dilutes the everyone’s services by making it harder for clients to find honest help that’s not all snake oil and smoke in mirrors. 🖤

    It’s like you’re psychic
Hey Lady Bosses! Just wanted to say how much I truly enjoy your podcast, particularly your recent episode on boundaries. It made me smile because I had literally just turned down an offer to build a website the day before (for the same reasons - just because I can do that doesn’t mean I should or want to!). This episode also helped me confirm some thoughts I’ve been trying to share with a colleague, re: discovery meetings (there should only be one if unpaid), nonprofit work should be scaled to fit the budget, and being wary of year-long contracts (I am all for short term/low risk when engaging with a new client). Thank you so much!

    Gloriously authentic, grounded in reality
“…anytime we’re exposed to oversanitized versions of reality over and over again, this comparison happens that is not good for our wellbeing…” Boom! Am I doing it right? Am I going to be okay? Is this what it’s supposed to look like? One of my biggest challenges in being self employed has been learning to frame success and failure outside of (the many) externally prescribed metrics from everyone except me. This podcast shines an unapologetically honest light on so many narratives that threaten entrepreneurial confidence. Exactly what I need to stop the anxiety tsunami in its tracks and get back to being the best, productive version of myself. Love it!

    Useful, honest, and entertaining
As an author and solo-preneur, finding sound advice from people who aren’t trying to hard-sell me their services is difficult. I appreciate a podcast that doesn’t sugar-coat how hard it is to run your own small enterprise. The hosts are like having great, honest friends over for a working lunch.

The advice you probably didn’t know you needed…
Knowing what NOT to do is probably even more valuable than what you should. Everyone has to figure out for themselves what works for them. Hearing mistakes and red flags to look out for has somehow been overlooked by most podcasts. This one is filling the gap with insight and is a fun listen.

    Very needed!
I just discovered this show and as a freelancer who has been in the small business world for a while, I can say it’s so needed to hear from experienced voices who tell it like it is and offer alternatives (and needed criticisms) of the “girlboss” mentality. Great work!

    Cognitively and Spiritually Nourishing
Starting your own business is so complicated, especially when you don’t have a blueprint (as described by Liz and Jamie regarding their own experiences). Our culture and most employment environments emphasize a departure from self, values, critical thinking and honesty in order to indoctrinate an impressive importance of the company’s needs over individual needs, enforce unquestioning adherence to platitudinous blather, assist the divestment from human values in order to lean into profit above all else (you know, going above and beyond to exploit both labor and consumers), and endlessly spew toxic positivity especially in the face of corporate conundrums. It’s been difficult to find honest entrepreneurial advice and discussion and this podcast is such a breath of fresh air with valuable insights and applicable measures to take and consider within each episode. Looking forward to more, thank you Jamie and Liz.

    Power is in Authenticity
Being yourself in your business and being visible as yourself is a way of making small, but meaningful impacts. These two are doing that and then some!

So happy I found this podcast when I did!
I personally found this podcast when I was at a crossroads with sticking it out with corporate settings or exploring solo- preneurship. I relate to all of their insights and experiences and they offer incredible wisdom. Love it and can’t wait for more !! 💜💜

I can’t believe this is free!
Jamie and Liz provide advice that I have previously paid for several times over. It’s not only great advice for business owners but for anyone taking larger roles in their organization or thinking of going off on their own. The conversations about the corporate world are real and insightful but also include the “other side” view of business ownership. It’s real life advice by people actually in the trenches, doing the work, and it shows.
