Somehow I was unaware that this was “high school kids”. All the sex stuff would fine if they were in college. Trust me I know kids do it but I don’t want to listen to it!!

Great sound design and acting, but sloppy and heavy handed writing. This was painful to listen to. I’ve listened to really well written shows that struggled for lack of resources, and seeing something so well produced yet poorly written, like this, saddens me.

I love the story of this podcast but all the music between scenes is unnecessary. I get why they do that on tv shows but on a podcast doesn’t really add anything just makes more things I have to skip.

Great series wish there was more

If you are a horny teenager, this podcast is for you. I think I lost a few brain cells listening to it.

Wondery usually has decent podcasts and great production quality so I decided to give this one a shot, started streaming it for an easy work distraction listen. Since I was only half paying attention to it, I thought this was taking place in some absurd college, but it’s actually a hyper-sexualized high school drama and once I realized nearly all the characters are underaged kids, it felt pretty vile so I stopped listening. If this was based in a prestigious college instead of a high school, there would be a different, less criminal feel to it, but glorifying underage sexual encounters (one with a teacher-casually making it statutory rape but not addressing that) is pretty disgusting.

It’s so good, the sound design the acting and voices was totally just amazing. The only issue I had was there were several times I didn’t understand the storyline, it just feels like we missed so many things. A few times I went back to the previous episode thinking I obviously somehow missed a scene. Relationships were on a good trajectory then all of a sudden the relationship ended. The only one explained in a normal sequence was maybe Caden and Charlotte. Other situations in storyline was like that as well. As the listener, throughout the story you just keep feeling like you missed a part. Everything else is so good that it kept me listening all the way but it was frustrating how disjointed it makes you feel after a scene ended. I found myself thinking “wait what?” And “huh?” “How did we get to this conclusion already?” Constantly trying to go back to see if I missed something to get to where I was in the story was driving me a little crazy. The production being absolutely superb kept me, the storyline drove me crazy. 😝

I’m pretty new to the world of fiction podcasts and until now hadn’t found one I’ve loved, but this one has me hooked. It’s like a mashup of Gossip Girl and The OC. And maybe Sex Education. The sound design makes it such an immersive world to escape into. Also love the theme song, very nostalgic feeling. Definitely recommend!

It’s well written and very engaging but I couldn’t finish it because it just turned into a promo with underage high school kids.

Storyline and acting are surburb but it’s crazy that these kids are in high school!!! Not college, it’s just weird having freshmen’s and seniors, bumping ugly’s, I mean there is a lot of sleeping around, I guess morals for people went right out the window and it’s just weird cause they are young but other than that it held my attention..

I love this podcast so far. It’s like watching a tv show. Hope there’s more episodes.

Really enjoyed this series. I wish all audio books would be made this way, this was so fun! It is extremely well produced and drew me right in with its fun storytelling style; the music, sound effects, the humor, it was all good. Reminds me of the old timey radio shows my grandparents listened to. Great job! Please make more!!

Ridiculously bad “acting” and story. Couldn’t get past the first 5 minutes of episode 1. Like a really amateur high school play. Don’t waste your time.

The Little League World Series is held in South Williamsport PA, every year. Not Florida, ever.

This show is beautifully produced. All the voices are spot on and the show should win an award just for sound design. And I am so far beyond the target of this demographic but yet it didn’t matter! I listened and enjoyed every bit: it reminded me the old radio broadcasts like Gunsmoke that just immersed the listener so completely - You felt like you were there in each and every scene. Kudos to all. Wonderful show!

It’s kinda nice escaping into a fictional podcast & it was well produced. The reason they lost a star is because the plot is very predictable, the characters are unbelievable for being in high school, but the biggest thing- inaccurate. I stopped what I was doing to write this review after listening to episode 9. iPhones stopped supporting Touch ID when 10 (x) came out; which means that the plot that follows after a hacker got into an iPhone 12 from simulating one of the character’s fingerprints- is impossible. I haven’t finished listening, and it certainly distracts from the implications that I’m sure are to come from an impossible method of bypassing the character’s security settings. Still, the podcast is a nice escape, the actresses & actors did a good job, the writers found a way to keep listeners engaged & the overall quality is very nice.

Easy and enjoyable listen! Liked the story line and the characters.

If you like Gossip Girl, you’ll like this show. It was good….I mean, I listened to the entire podcast. Had to know how it ended after all. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because 1) they didn’t list what actors played what character (yes they have their names listed and yes it’s on IMDB BUT not everyone is listed. 2) The person who plays Olivia has one of THE worst cases of vocal fry. Not a good sound for a podcast…at all. I couldn’t wait for her part to be over with. Now with that being said, I do hope there is a Season 2…with less vocal fry.

Not horrible but it was a reasonably weak story the kids were way too nice for private school and the sex scenes made it really cringy but the end was positive and nobody died

Very unlikable characters. Horrible people, constantly making light of terrible decisions and ignoring the lasting mental repercussions.

As a novelist & podcaster myself, I am highly impressed with Academy. The story, especially the dialogue, is well written with interesting twists. The actors and production value bring the story to life. I look forward to listening weekly & will probably re-listen. Highly recommend!

If you’re a fan of the classic 2000s teen dramas like gossip girl, pretty little liars, the oc, etc. you’ll love this show. The voice actors bring these characters alive, and you’ll find yourself invested in their stories and their secrets.

Interesting but not very original. Good voice actors. Worth a listen if you like gossip girl or just want something low stakes to listen to.

JJ Niemann is a brilliant performer. This story made great use of his many talents. They were lucky to have him. Everyone in the show is spectacular.

Honestly one of the best fiction podcasts I’ve listened to. Please tell me there will be a second season!!

Do girls not have a “girl code” they adhere to?

How could they even make a ten episodes out of crappy story like that! I invested in it and had to finish it. Never want to do that again

So many podcasts keep eps in subscription and slowly release them to the masses. Making access to a series so exclusive Makes me less likely to subscribe to wondery and more likely to unfollow this show waiting for regular people to have access.

I hope there’s another season please don’t leave us hanging.

An absolutely exceptional (and hilarious) podcast. The story was so intriguing - I couldn’t stop listening. Very well written. I hope that Wondery will be motivated enough to create a second season.

Not a fan of listening to stories about children having sex with each other doing drugs, or screwing their teachers.

I finished this in 2 days, it was so good and definitely got me distracted from Any stress and anxiety. Will there be a season 2, if so when should be expect it? PLEASE CONTINUE
