Great takes on parenting as it relates to media. I mostly agree with the age recommendations for movies I have seen which they discuss. The hosts are probably more permissive than me, but, importantly, they discuss the violent/suggestive/sacrilegious content of each movie outright. This provides a clear look at the movie discussed from a moral perspective, so you don't need to agree with the hosts on everything to benefit a lot from listening. My favorite takeaway: if your kids are going to watch movies or play video games, it is your responsibility to participate with them to protect them, but also bond with them. That tidbit earned my subscription and continued listening.

This is probably the best podcast to which I’ve ever listened. I don’t always 100% agree with the hosts (though I’m young & don’t have kids yet) even when they don’t agree, but they’re amazing & I’m glad they’re talking about these intensely important issues & about quite fun things too. I hope I can learn well from their advice in the future!

First, Jonathan and Katie riff very well off each other which makes listening to this podcast easy on the ears. My biggest issue with ITFK? is that this show feels like “Harmonious Gatekeeping”. The fact that Jonathan and Katie have such similar viewpoints makes the content feel more like Gatekeeping than being informative to parents. I feel like this format would work so much better if more differing viewpoints were present to match with the multitude of parenting styles out there. It has so much potential, but I feel like Jonathan and Katie are the same voice in a world of parenting styles.

It’s really a challenge to navigate the world of media when we have what feels like unlimited access and choices at this point in time. So grateful to have two parents take their time to give their nonjudgmental perspectives so we can make our own choices about what’s best for our family. Plus they have me laughing throughout. Super entertaining and so valuable to me as a mom.

Entertaining and informative

They are fun to listen to and have a great report with each other. They do give plenty of spoilers, but it’s because it helps parents make good decisions for their family. They don’t tell you what to choose, but they try to give you plenty of information to make your own choices.

Fun, helpful, and not prudish or lame in any way. I laugh out loud and feel wiser with every episode.

I enjoy listening to Jon and Katie share their thoughts on a range of media. They don’t always agree which I actually appreciate, it gives room for listeners to have their own thoughts. I also trust they love their kids and are practicing what they preach. Helpful stuff for young parents! Keep it up.

These two are wildly entertaining together. Love their banter and input on all things media for kids. Jon sounds super handsome too.

Jon and Katie are a great team of married (not to each other) parents that watch the stuff so you don’t have to! As a childless person with niblings and cousins in my life, this is fun and informative!

The show includes useful information as a parent that I can use to better guide media choices in my home. The hosts are delightful and have a great balance of personalities that thrive off each other. This show packs a lot into a half-hour but beyond the great information (which will save my wife and I from having to watch and listen to all these things - time which we do not have) it is a really entertaining show. Five stars and look forward to new episodes as they release!

This is the podcast that I never knew I needed. Jon and Katie give me the right information that I need about content that my kids might be consuming. I find this podcast very balanced and informative. On top of that, the hosts give a real sibling rivalry vibe which I love!
