57opus07Has brought me closer to GodThank you for your Sunday Homily and Bible in a year. “It’s a Wonderful Life” is my favorite movie also. I truly enjoyed listening to your analysis in describing the meaning behind similar stories from literature and the Bible. I am praying for you and everyone.

SinceEverSinceClientThank you for these homilies! They are impactful & life-changing!Grateful to Fr. Mike and the Ascension team for make these homilies available. I love the explanations and the applications to everyday life. I love how Fr. Mike tells a story and weaves it into the gospel and makes it easier to understand. I am grateful that I am able to share with my family, whether they reside near or far. You are reaching and impacting people thousands of miles away - even as far as a U. S. Territory in the Pacific called the Northern Marianas Islands. Fr. Mike and the Ascension team, through their good works, have aided in bringing me back to the Catholic faith because of the deeper understanding they are equipping me and my family with. I know our priests here do their best to explain the but very few communicated well enough to draw me in. And their messages in the past always felt condemning and exhausting. I was lost for a period but, I’m grateful to have these homilies because I can listen and understand before attending church in-person. It supplements and adds value to what’s lacking here. Invaluable and much needed in today’s world. Thank you! P. S. Will today’s homily be released soon?

Legaleagle542Excellent InsightFr, Mike gives excellent insight into the Catholic faith and in the week’s readings. I always get a new perspective and something I hadn’t considered previously. If you enjoy solid preaching with a good message, this is for you. I often listen at work then have conversations about the message with some of my coworkers. I’d definitely recommend this podcast for anyone looking to grow their faith.

PrinluckGreat PodcastFather Mike is always inspiring and uplifting. He keeps my faith on the forefront of my life, I am so grateful. If I lived in his area I would go to confession without hesitation LOL! I thank him so much and he is always in my prayers.

Surprise18Something for everyone! As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this is one of my favorite podcasts. I met the sweetest Catholic women on a long plane flight and we were both so edified after sharing our beliefs and rejoicing in all the love for Jesus we had in common. She shared this podcast with me and I’m so grateful she did. I had a very heavy heart today and heard exactly what I needed to hear. I hope more of us from different faiths can link arms and be grateful for Jesus. It’s a beautiful way to live.

mrobins1Man-oh-man, what a gift! ☺️Fr. Mike is such a gift and a blessing to the Church! Thankful for his priesthood. And thankful for Ascension bringing Fr. Mike to all of us through the videos and podcasts they produce. All glory, honor, and praise be to the Lord Jesus Christ! ❤️

BDonjonChecks all the BoxesThere is controversy I hear every-so-often about how long a homily ‘should’ be, usually from those who would like shorter ones (the magic number I hear is 10 minutes). I’d contend that this is usually rooted in other gripes; for example, meandering and low-energy homilies are torture and should conclude as soon as reasonably possible. But a longer homily is perfectly fine if it’s relatable to the lay audience, has a solid point it’s making, and if it has some passion behind it. Fr. Mike checks all the boxes; he is a master homilist and should be listened to not just during mass, but whenever he speaks about the faith.

UttersalotFr Mike= GodsendI have been enjoying Father Mike’s homilies and podcasts for years now- and he is hands down my favorite priest when it comes to explaining our Catholic Christian faith. He has a way of saying things so they are easy to understand using real life examples. I hope I live to see him as Pope Mike the First someday!!!

DJ from PittsburghHoly Spirit brought me to this….I’ve been struggling with something lately and the Holy Spirit nudged me to listen to Fr. Mike’s homily today. He always speaks to me, but he really knocked it out of the park today. Thank you for being a beacon of light in a world of darkness, Fr. Mike. You are a blessing! 🙏🏻

November373Please add a few seconds to the endThis is a wonderful podcast. One thing I’d like to request, please add a few seconds of silence at the end of the podcast. There is so much to reflect on, and without that time the next podcast starts up automatically, and often times it can be something quite jarring compared to Fr’s homily.

linds1215I want to knowThis series is so good - He Leadeth Me . I’m not Catholic but found this podcast and I have loved it . This one especially hit home with me because I always want to know the why and be in control essentially. To simply trust in Him has been hard this past year being hit with several life changing difficult events . I needed to hear this today .

MirsopeñaI do not miss a single oneSo good! Perfect to introduce and send it to people who have fallen from the faith or the church and encouraging them to come back.

lynne_123Best HomiliesI get so much out of Fr. Mikes homilies. Look forward to them every Sunday before I go to church because it is rare that I hear any better than Fr. Mike. Fr. Mike always adds something personal in his homilies which I really enjoy. I have said for years that homilies are more meaningful if the priest would share some personal experience in the course of their homily. Fr. Mike consistently hits it out of the park.
-

MiaBremySo thankful for you!Father Mike, I am seriously SO thankful for you and your openness to sharing these homilies with the world. I have been blown away by the amount of times the Holy Spirit has used your insights to help convict and guide our family throughout our discernment. It has honestly felt like spiritual direction, they have been that applicable. Thank you! You are truly setting the world on fire.

SusanB45lkWarm blankets, grandma’s cooking, hugsThe things that make you seek comfort—the smells, the sounds, the love, the touch, the tastes. Father Mike’s homilies provide me so much comfort. And, his homilies have helped me comprehend so much. I converted to Catholicism in 2008 when I married my husband. I grew up as a Lutheran. My husband has been trying to help me understand the Saints and how they help him since we met. I never “got it”. After listening to the triathlon analogy—I finally understand how the Saints can help me in my daily life. I had tears streaming down my face. Thank you Father Mike. You have helped so many and I am so very grateful. God bless you each and every day.
-
LO101518Absolutely AmazingThank you for making this available. It’s amazing to listen to Fr. Mike before I go to mass. He makes the Gospel so clear and it allows me to focus during the service.

MASBostichProfound lesson on love and obedienceIf you want a taste of why Father Mike’s homilies are so effective in building up the Body of Christ, listen to the 10/1/23 homily. Highlights: “Love regardless.” “Freedom is a prerequisite to any meaningful ‘yes’.”

FACS teacher 101I’m not even catholicI got hooked through the Bible in a Year podcast and still desire to listen to Father Mike’s interpretations and readings so I listen to the homilies every morning now. The kicker is- I’m not even Catholic! He’s just that good. And, I have never been closer to God. I’ve had absolutely miraculous experiences with my spiritual mind open from these podcasts of his.
-
GrameeTwoTo all fathers.Father Mike’s homily today is a gift to all men. His explanation of masculinity is straightforward and clarifies the demoralizing messages males hear today. One message hardly heard and so important is the power of a father’s blessing.
-
