    Excellent and professional Sci-Fi podcast
Edict Zero is a exceptional podcast. How it’s over and there’s an emptiness or void knowing that Edict Zero has come to an end. Congratulations to the writers, voice actors and supporting staff. Thank you for all the hard work creating a historical science fiction podcast.

Sometimes the best things in life are free
A very intricate world and a plot that has depth to it. The voice acting is superb and background sounds are done to great effect. Good noise canceling headphones enhance the experience by tenfold creating an absolute immersive experience. That this is made an available for free is a treat. There aren’t even any disrupting ads or requests to visit a Patreon page. Edict Zero is the cream of the crop of audio drama.

    Weirdly great
It starts off weird because the plot needs it to be, it will make sense later in the show, very good show

    Absolutely stunning!
I’m a fan of pod novels. So I’ve listened to many of them. This is arguably the best of them all. The production values are top notch. The story is very fascinating except for one part that other people might find interesting. I highly recommend this entire series. Be sure to start at the beginning. Season 1, episode 1. This podcast continues to delight me. As I am sure it will delight you. If it doesn’t, you need therapy.

    A masterpiece
If you’re a fan of complex sci fi you’ll love this work of art. Kincaid knocks it outta the park with excellent writing, great voice talent and amazing ambience and sound fx. I’ve listened to every episode twice and still feel like I missed some stuff. This one requires serious commitment but it’s so worth it

I don't say this lightly- this show is genius.
I'm a podcast addict. I listen to so many audio drama. And I have many favorites. But this show just nails everything! Characters, pacing, sound effects, music -- and story complexity. It's the only podcast I finished and then binged from the beginning again. And I loved it even more.

    Derivative
The writers thought, “What if twin peaks were actually the matrix?” And then had not a single further thought.
  • drjoshua
    completely random nonsense
Right from the beginning, this was entirely nonsensical. Heather reviews said to stick with it and it pays off, but I don’t have that much time to waste.

    Amazing
    We need more like this

    Phenomenal
Only thing that can make it better is more frequent episodes. If I were independently wealthy, I’d fund it and related projects

    Big Time Favorite
I love listening to an audio drama where the payoffs keep piling up. Especially one with nerve-tingling sound design. Very listenable and relistenable, each time through I get more out of it.

    The Very Finest
Best acted, best written, best designed, best engineered, the most engaging, the most entertaining. There isn’t anything else like it! … or, is there …

    A must-listen crime and sci-fi drama
Edict Zero is one of my favorite audio dramas. Top tier production and sound, great acting, and very clever writing and plot build up. What starts out as a regular detective whodunnit turns into such a layered story with so many twists and turns — that feel earned and make sense. The world and backstory are deeply interesting and you’ll enjoy the slow reveal of more and more. I will say that the first few episodes are a bit slow to get going, and some of the characters may initially annoy you (eg the captain), but if you can keep pushing through it gets SO good. Everything comes together and makes sense. Highly recommend.

    Incredible
I never leave reviews, this is my first and only. This is easily the best podcast I’ve ever listened to. Keep up the amazing work

    Exquisite
Edict Zero is a delicious morsel to smooth the soul and delight the senses. The Captain alone is worth a thousand photographs of praise, the entirety of the podcast, it’s actors, it’s script, the delights of its wall of soundscapes, all are individually exquisite, but in combination, are a masterpiece. The only aspect I cannot love, is the agony of awaiting a new episode. ~L

    Strangely wonderful
Early episodes are uneven, but if you dive in and go with it, the payoff is pretty satisfying. They’ve had ten years to create something weirdly engaging, and I look forward to each installment - don’t even mind waiting between episodes. Fair warning, the critiques are accurate: — Distracting, random and constant footsteps; — Initially, uneven sound production (gets much better); — A few (early) confusing subplots; — Music or sound effects occasionally - and ineffectively - used as plot devices... BUT - I like it. I like it a LOT. Even once I recognized where the (familiar) plot was going, I still liked it. I also came to care about the characters. The only painful exception: “Melissa’s” voice is one of the worst things I’ve ever heard. Ugh.

    Adictive voice acting
So glad I recently discovered the series and have a backlog of shows to listen to. The voice actors are simply marvelous and the story unfolds in a gripping fashion that totally draws you in.

    Amazing
In a time when there a so few things that are unique and original this story checks all the boxes. A brilliant, smart storyline that is executed very well and then painted with arguably one of the best soundscapes you could imagine. The story literally comes to life before your ears. I love it. Every episode is well worth the wait. Congrats to the entire team.

    Amazing and resourceful
Some of the people who give this show bad reviews obviously are competitors , or unfortunately were born with no imagination and poor comprehension for the performing arts. I have been utterly delighted with every episode from the very beginning . Jack you Have done an amazing job, and I would say the same to anyone willing to listen! Keep up the good work sir.

    Convoluted and poorly performed
I am desperate for a new podcast and I love science fiction-how could this miss? Well, the writing is bad and full of common and lazy tropes, the performances are not good, there is certainly a lot of sound design but not all of it is good, necessary, or balanced. I could focus my entire review on how people who are homeless and/or mentally ill are depicted but I won’t. It’s not good. I quit at the end of episode 4 and I should have really stopped after the first 1.
  • Darjeeling77
    Good show
Show’s very good, but due to extended time between episodes, it can be very hard to follow the storyline.
  • ZackMan 69
I’m pretty sure these are paid reviews??
Not only is this show SUPER bad but it’s like 7 months between episodes. The premise is convoluted, the voice acting is trash. The only redeeming quality of this “podcast” is that eventually the episode is over. I tried to like it, I wanted to. “People in a simulation, discovering they’re in a simulation.” Sounds good. The “writer” (more like a team of 4 eighth graders), tried to add these complex storylines that have no pay off for 2 seasons; which is one thing if you just started listening, but if you were listening as they came out you would have had to wait 30 years to get the “payout.” Even when these stories wrap up it just a hand wave. Do not waste your time.

    Richness and depth...
I really can’t think of another A D that has a soundscape and musical intensity that this one has. Jack Kincaid is the Swiss Army Knife of audio producers and I for one am so grateful and appreciative of the work. Unless you have attempted to produce A D you cannot image the time and resources needed to bring to life a production of this magnitude. Thank you for continuing this Herculean effort for this many years. Also I wish to extend my most sincerest congrats to all the actors and the ones who have brought multiple characters to this richly told story. Jack Kincaid, I can only say Thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope I can be half as good.

    Amazing and great
This podcast is so good. Best podcast I’ve listened to by far. Only bad is there isn’t enough episodes for me. Wish there was more much more.

    A masterpiece
This is one of the best audio drama ever made! Every time I see a new post come up I get very excited, to the point that I wound listen to it until there is nothing to distract me from immersing myself into this wonderful world. It takes the idea of a simulated world to perfection. Thank you so much for keeping this alive!!
  • Thecrster
    Amazing!
This podcast has the best sound of any audio drama podcast I’ve ever listened to. And I’ve listened to just hundreds of them. I can’t believe they release these for free! Awesome job to the entire team!

    Spectacular show!
I love everything about this podcast. The world building, the voice acting & and the soundscapes. All spectacular. I wait patiently for the next episode <3

    In my top 5 favorites
This is one of the best podcasts out there. Not just in my top 5, but definitely my top 3. I love the neo-punk noir genre and this fits the bill perfectly. It’s such a flawlessly executed piece of audio art and I can’t get enough. I just recently watched the Netflix show “Altered Carbon” and the type of show it is reminded me of Edict Zero. Then it got me wondering why Edict Zero isn’t a TV show yet?! Anyway, keep up the great work and I check everyday for a new episode of Edict Zero FIS.

    Addicting
I love this series. I’m not usually a fan of this kind of series, but I love this. I think Captain Socrates is my new favorite character. 😂

    Still the best
Still far superior to every sci fi drama podcast out there.

    Sooooo Gooooood
I’ve been listening to this podcast every day and it’s incredibly performed and the quality is fantastic. I’m in love with each of the characters and it makes me both laugh and want to cry

The acting sound and writing are sooooo good. This is a great sci fi /. X files mashup and I can’t stop listening.

    The best podcast
That is how I see it. :) I love it so much. Cyberpunk in a dystopia whose characters make it warm enough that you want to stay for long visits and return often.

    Really enjoying! 1 suggestion tho
Really enjoying the podcast, the story lines are exciting and the characters are really interesting. Very well written and produced! Totally recommend! If I may make one suggestion though to the creator, assuming they’ll ever read these....the incessant footsteps and foot shuffling is extremely distracting. Obviously I’m not suggesting all footstep sounds go away, but that sound byte is used way way too much, it’s like every character in the entire podcast is constantly on the verge of peeing their pants. So I can’t help but always picture all the characters doing the peepee dance the whole time. And I realize it’s just a sound byte for background noise that the editor inserted but I’m constantly wanting to scream to them “Stand still!!! Stop moving your feet for 5 seconds!!!” And I mean, even when the characters are supposedly sitting down in front of a computer, there’s still constant footsteps and shuffling, all I can picture is the top half of their body being still and concentrating on the computer screen while their legs and feet are just going wild under the table...which I imagine would look incredibly strange and awkward in real life. Funny sure, but I assume that’s not what you are going for. It’s not a dealbreaker or anything, the show is still great! I just have a tendency to pick up on little things like that and when it’s repetitive, my brain kinda gets stuck on the sound and it totally takes me out of the story and I miss what’s actually being said and I have to rewind it and listen again while consciously trying to ignore the repetitive noise. Anyway, that’s just my two cents. Still love the show regardless. Can’t wait for the next episode! :)

    Superb Production!
I found this series by accident, but I’m so glad I did. This is an incredibly well-imagined and well-performed show.

I LISTENED TO THIS ABOUT A YEAR AG....
...and started again on December 31, 2018 (my brother, Randy’s 71st birthday) and everything is as new!

    Unique Voice
There is tremendous, idiosyncratic talent driving this hard core science fiction podcast. Only the deepest, most feverishly creative mind could put together something that is at once so absurd and yet transcendent. Listen closely, and all of the cracks and crevices of shoestring production come through. But the essence resonates and the heart magnifies until this artificial creation washes over you, so real that you fall in and lose track. Before you know it, the pieces click, the cracks disappear, and there you are in another world. There will be times when the characters wax poetic, and other times when the audio soundscape approach to storytelling can create some confusion, but stick with it. Experience improves the podcast episode by episode. And once it hits its stride, you’ll have characters you love, and you’ve got a science fiction novel thicker than a phone book projecting some other world’s audio at you, and you’re enjoying the ride.

    I wanted to like this.
I didn’t think it was possible for actors in an audio drama to chew scenery but these actors managed it. I really wanted to like this but it’s overdone, poorly written and constructed and performed that I couldn’t get past three episodes.
  • Acebush1
HOW IS EVERYONE NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS PODCAST???
Dramatic. Thrilling. Interesting characters. Flawless acting and producing.

    Edict zero-fis
This is hands down the absolute best podcast ever created by mankind. The story is so complex and makes so much sense. I've listened to it several times and I'm still picking up things I didn't previously.

    Fantastic
This is by far my most favorite audio drama! Thank you for sharing it! Anxiously awaiting the next episode!

    Wonderful
This podcast has it all. Great writing, characters, setting, an extremely great mystery. I am so glad to have found it. I hope there is lots more to come. Gret distraction. I am right at the end of season two, and I highly recommend this podcast. While some claim that it’s strais from the original storyline becomes confusing, it slowly builds it up and explains it until it takes up every second of the show. There was not a moment of extraneous anything. The episodes are fast-paced and quickly drive towards great climaxes. What can I say about the music it is wonderful enjoy!1

    Very good story
I don’t love the voice acting, but excellent story with a lot of depth.

    The Best
Love Edict Zero, from the plot to the characters to the sound. Great job on all of it. I eagerly anticipate each episode.
  • Beezie Em
    Honestly, idk?
I listened for a really long time but it became difficult after a while to follow the story because so many characters are played by the same actors and there are so many levels and mini-tangents away from the main plot. I just got a bit too lost.
