Singularity.FM

166

Singularity.FM was the first singularity podcast in the world. It is the place where we interview the future and technology meets ethics: an open conversation about the impact of exponential tech, accelerating change, and the choices we make. It helps us identify the full spectrum of unprecedented dangers and opportunities and give birth to our own ideas about the best way to create a better future, a better you.

Singularity.FM is a series of interviews with the best scientists, writers, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, philosophers, and artists. We discuss the technological singularity, transhumanism, artificial intelligence, life extension, genetics, robotics, nanotech, synthetic biology, cryptocurrencies, and ethics: because technology is not enough!

Past guests of this singularity podcast include people such as Ray Kurzweil, Peter Diamandis, Noam Chomsky, Natasha Vita-More, Stuart Hameroff, Marvin Minsky, Aubrey de Grey, Max More, Michio Kaku, Vernor Vinge, Cory Doctorow, Charles Stross, and many, many others.

    Fantastic delve into everything A.I.
Great interviews with A.I. insiders and a diverse assortment of other related fields, every one relevant in the discussion of our relationship with our rapidly evolving technology. Keep the episodes coming Nikola!

    A feed-favorite!
Singularity.FM is a true feed-favorite! It’s obvious Nikola puts extraordinary effort in covering salient topics and finding guests that are authentic and truly care about being a positive force in our world - the insights they bring to bear are mind-blowing every. single. time.

No analysis on the most pressing transhumanist technology of our time
“Socrates” (talk about giving himself an arrogant pseudonym) has yet to tackle the most pressing technology of our time: mRNA therapies. Also, he falls prey to the pseudoscientific arguments behind virology and climate change. Socrates, please read the science you claim to support. Moreover, read the scientific papers that are CRITICAL of the mainstream narrative (I recommend the work of Stefan Lanka to begin with). Science (and philosophy for that matter) is about asking the hard questions. It’s about demanding replicable evidence and proof. It’s not about furthering a narrative that has an obvious agenda and conflicts of interest…the real Socrates knew this and asked the hard questions. But I suppose that’s why the state murdered him.

    Disappointing
Interesting topics with to much socialist spin.

    We need a sixth star!
“Socrates” helps me examine my many assumptions about the technological singularity. He has excellent guests and a great speaking style. Many think the singularity is yet to come, I believe it has already emerged and is yet to reveal itself. What many fear I embrace.

    An extraordinary podcast
If you work in tech and are excited about digital transformation and future trends, this is a great podcast. It provides context and commentary around topics that tend to be viewed through a technology and commercial lens.

    Disappointing
Thought this would be a good podcast to learn about future technology and trends. Instead seems to be people talking about their feelings and political ideas.
  • iosullivan
    Be Careful
It’s a political piece. Liberal focused politics and the usual conspiracy theory nonsense.

Awesome podcast about transhumanism and the technological singularity
I really enjoy the interviews. This is definitely the best podcast out there related to futurism, transhumanism, and the technological singularity. Great work!

    Wow....
What a collection of guests. Amazing interviews about the most important topic ever.

    REALLY?!
The Patel interview was a total debacle and Nye's I didn't even bother listening to, since he shouldn't be given any platform to spew his diarrhea of the mouth. The guys an engineer, not a scientist. You're losing creditbility brah. How about a follow-up with Stuart Hameroff??? Stop interviewing douchetard crackpots or I'm out... word.
  • DABbio
    Enjoy this podcast
The one with Amish Patel one of the most enjoyable, if not quite in line with the others. Nikola was a terrific straight man to Patel's ripostes.

    Amazing podcast
Asks very important questions. It's also in a very good format. He allows people to speak without interupting them, unlike many other podcasts.

    Great interviews
Nikolai always manages to get amazing guests on his show. Nikolai does a great job of asking insightful questions while trying to stay objective. It's obvious that while many times he fundamentally agrees with his guests, he still plays the devil's advocate in order to test the limits of his guest's beliefs. Thanks Nikola!

    Quality, in depth
A large collection of long form in depth interviews with many interesting people. Nikola, the interviewer is an intelegent thoughtful interviewer. Like the best podcasters he is knowledgable about his topic, his interest shows through. He talks to a lot of very interesing people and the interview are long enough for them to really dig into the subject.
  • XedBrite
    Great interviews with singularity architects
Thanks Nikola for getting all my past favorites and new found personalities into a single podcast I worthy of binging upon.

    Fascinating Guests
Nikola (Socrates) gets the most fascinating people on earth to guest on his show, whom he challenges with probing and insightful questions and observations.

It changed the way I think.
Your pod cast is what taught me the importance of asking question, no answering, but asking as many questions in life as possible.

    Enlightening
Singularity 1:1 is my favorite podcast right now. The content is amazing and every single interview adds 3 or 4 new books to my reading list. Nikola (the host) makes the whole thing really enjoyable as well. Great interviewer. Amazing show!

An Essential Podcast for the Singularity
If you are interested in the singularity, AI, trahnshumansim, robotics, cryonics, nanotech and all the other technologies related to the singularity this podcast would get high ratings for its content composed of discussions with the top thought leaders in the world on the subject. However, Nikola’s insightful direction the explores the ramifications, ethics and philosophical debates surrounding these technologies and their implications on the future of society, religion, law and culture take the podcast to a higher level.

    Amazing!
Great podcast! I love the way Nikola really digs deep into the perspectives of his guests. When he disagrees with someone or does not understand a point of view, he will dig in deeper rather than move on to common ground. Love the subject matter and Socrates covers it with a piercing rational curiosity that is truly inspiring.
  • fivefootstudios
    Fascinating, complex, extremely Interesting.
This podcast is fantastic, once I found it I have have not stopped listening. Nikola is doing a great job bringing to light a topic which could potentially have irreversible effects on humanity. Where ever you stand on the spectrum of the variety of issues he brings up, its at the very least worth educating yourself and other’s about. Almost every episode I watch I end up posting on my Facebook and stating some of the most mind-blowing things said in the interviews. Its not a ton but just pushing the information out further is what seems to be important here. I highly recommend.
  • Alohanaut
Knowledge people with strong opinions freely expressing them
Nikola Danaylov is doing his best keep Socrates’ legacy alive—he’s a smart interviewer who brings on guests who have interesting perspectives on a variety of pressing, forward looking topics. He’s very good at asking interesting framing questions and letting his guests speak their minds, and not afraid to ask questions when they make confusing assertions. This is just a great, interesting way to spend an hour.
  • Pluteski
    Excellent interviews of forward thinkers
Nikola is one of the best interviewers and without exception the guest speakers seem open and at ease to be themselves and speak candidly about their opinions and beliefs. The lineup of guests has been amazing.
  • Mind4u2cn
    Keeps getting better.
Everytime I listen to the show I sense the host is getting better and better at interviewing managing the flow of the show. The caliber of the guest and high level discussions and content is amazing!

    Excellent
I highly recommend this podcast to anyone interested in future topics. Host does a great job of organizing and translating some very dense scientific matters. Awesome work.
  • Gkellogg
    Great interviewer!
Nikola performs a very intelligent interview and does not approach the subject as a fan-boy, but more in keeping with the “Socrates” persona he tries to emulate. He is knowledge about the subject, but doesn’t allow his opinions to get in the way of his interview subjects.

    One Of My Favorites!
I really enjoy Nikola’s interviews. His line of questioning is very thoughtful and he teases out information that other interviewers don't seem to get. I think it’s because he’s not afraid to disagree, or play devil’s advocate, which causes the person being interviewed, to speak candidly. But he does it in a very respectful and non antagonistic manner. I believe it's important to talk about the possibilities of the singularity, technological unemployment, AI, Robotics and automations, opportunities and how to plan for things that may happen sooner than we think. I have experienced radical changes for the past 30 years in the digital graphics and animation field. I believe this rate of progress will exponentially increase in the next 10-15 years. So best to get ready for the ride.

    Why I Love the Internet
Nikola's podcasts connect me with the leading AI/Singularity scientists/authors/philosophers etc. in essentially real time (rather than waiting 1-2 years for a book to be published). Nikola's podcasts are the perfect example of why the Internet is one of the greatest inventions ever. Thank you Nikola for your wonderful work.

    Listen to this podcast
I've been listening to Nikola's podcast for a while now. He gets awesome guests and gets them to talk about things they don't talk about anywhere else. The idea of the singularity and exponential technologies isn't such a fringe idea anymore. This is a good place to learn about it.

One of the best things on iTunes
I started listening to this podcast without a solid understanding of what the term “Singularity” was. I think I have listened to every episode by now and I have to say that this is one of the best data bases of information about the future out there. As a collection, I would say that it is more impactful than most books on the subject. I really enjoy Nikola’s interview style. The questions he asks make a wealth of information accessible for a non-expert without dumbing things down. Often times, it seems as if the listener is learning along with Nikola in a very natural way. There are a variety of interviewees, topics and perspectives but discussions manage a broad, philosophical perspective which is refreshing and hard to come by. The episodes with the big names are interesting, but there are also so many hidden gems in this collection. If anyone is looking to grow their brain, curious about the future of aliveness/intelligence, interested in technology and innovation, or wants to safely jump into the world an experts specialized field without being dumbed down, then I highly recommend this podcast.
