John Roland JrGreat Podcast, HostsLove this podcast, especially the hosts. They’re knowledgeable, thoughtful, & engaging with their guests. Love their attention to underrepresented players & voices in poker. Great job guys.
-
slack's dadAmazing podcast, terrible audioFantastic insight and great conversation surrounding poker! Love all of the guys. That being said, the audio quality is severely lacking (maybe it’s just me). Static noise, mic pops and general unclean sound makes it hard to hear some times. Nate’s mic is especially bad. Sorry for rant. Content is awesome, keep up the good work.

DfoxtahoePoker pod that doesn’t talk poker strategyTried 5 different ones and don’t even talk poker strategy. Terrible...

luckyjay13LegendaryHow do I even start. These guys are absolutely brilliant. Nate has an Ivey league background and is now a recreational player and Andrew is a pro cash and wsop tournament grinder, coach and former debater who absolutely crushes the game. The show provides a mix of life strategy and poker culture via interviews. This show has enriched my life beyond explanation. They are a joy to listen to. Their star guests including the great Carlos Welch who has the ultimate freedom of living and playing for a Prius while traveling wheee he pleases. He and other regular guests take it to an even higher level of legendary.

napaulpaAmazing quality = almost infinite valueReally excellent podcast. Well-presented with smart humor, relaying the intricacies of poker, online, live and GTO without trying to over-demonstrate how smart they are, without patronizing by talking down. Can’t believe I get it for free. Because value = utility/cost, I did start by describing infinite value, but then I remembered to value my time as non-zero. Having said that, I haven’t found a more effective way of learning except that side benefit was being introduced to Andrews Play Optimal Poker book, which is also a great way to learn how to implement a GTO-aware poker strategy. Thank you Andrew, thank you Nate

free milk from the cowHundreds of dollars or more for freeThe generosity of the hosts cannot be understated. This is high quality poker coaching, for free. Extremely adaptable to my live game up to 5-10. Thanks. They call themselves nits?

Rwilliams21My New Favorite PodcastA very smart and entertaining show. The hosts are great and they have all kinds of random interesting guests. They often touch peripherally on other analytical and interesting topics, but it keeps to being a primarily poker podcast. Topped off with great strategy in their hand analysis segments also.

Birds look nice to meThe hidden side of pokerNot your usual poker show, always thoughtful and thought provoking
-
cchaywarAmazingly goodIntelligent, amusing discussion of a range of topics, not just poker. Interesting interviews. Great in-depth hand analysis. I can't say enough good things about this podcast!

Darnarius McQuimbertonGreat pod, doesn’t smell like a new book. This is one of my favorite podcasts. I’ve been listening since episode 2. My only gripe is that is doesn’t smell like a new book ought to.

Maniac1130Amazing Podcast by Amazing PeopleI LOVE THIS PODCAST! I am currently on a journey to listen to every podcast (I have listened to over 100) and to say the least, they are amazing!! Andrew and Nate are great guys with great poker minds and I believe their podcast provides a great service to us listeners. I’d give them a 10 star rating if I could !!! :)

Alex DonofrioLong time ListenerListening to Andrew, Nate (and Carlos!) is simply one of the most thoughtful, entertaining, and favorite parts of my week. Really great and diverse guests, great strategy segments, and even the occasional philosophy musing for good measure. Sometimes quality people without agendas are hard to find in the poker world, but it’s easy to see this podcast is a labor of love for these guys. Keep up the great work! Alex D

Barry DreamsteinOne of my favorite podcastsI listen to a lot of podcasts on a lot of different subjects, and this is one of my favorite podcasts of all time. I can say with certainty that I am a better poker player because of their strategy segments. But what really puts them over the top is their dedication to exploring the lives of poker players (rec, pro, and all those in between), who come from many different walks of life. After so many episodes this podcast has moved beyond interesting to me and become...comforting. Also. the rigor they bring to their study of poker, the incredibly long dissections of a single hand, has encouraged me to do the same. In so doing (even as a lowly $1-2 rec player), I think they’ve helped me digest a valuable lesson - that when you approach any endeavor with rigor and sincerity, you always learn things that extend far beyond the subject at hand. Also of course, Carlos is just literally the best. Any episode with Carlos puts me in a good mood.
-
stumpawAwesome poker discussionLove this podcast. Andrew and Nate are smart & interesting guys that know a lot about the game and offer some really great content. Keep it up!

money mustardBest poker podcastReal nice balance between strategy and real world poker interviews. Cool soundtrack.
-
AppRaterAnonLong time listenerI’m much more a fan of the game, it’s strategy and the personalities drawn to poker than I am an able player myself. This Andrew & Nate’s podcast has been great to advance my game, strategy and interest. The semi-intentional entertainment is an added benefit. Happy 300th episode guys.
-
tcampbell009Excellent ListenNew to this podcast and so thankful for this great content. Two hosts form a great team and listening helps improve my game. Format of strategy and interviews is great. Keep up the great work!

-
intuitionnbest strategy podcastI’ve been playing online poker on and off for over a decade, and this podcast has improved my win rate tremendously in the past year. Even though not all of it is focused around online poker, the thought process and logic has helped me figure out how to become a bette player. On top of all of that, they bring on a ton of interesting guests. Andrew and Nate conduct and interview where it’s not solely focused about the poker. I recommend this podcast to almost everyone because it’s a great podcast to listen to for poker and non poker players.
-
smttyctyI love poker podcastsAnd this is my favorite.
-
H8WOATSI never miss an episode!Andrew and Nate are great. I started listening to them 3-4 years ago. Got hooked, went back to the beginning and listened to every episode from the beginning. Thoughtful strategy segments, entertaining/informative interview segments, and wonderful rapport between the two hosts keep me coming back. Haven’t missed an episode. Highly recommend!
-
LuckyBoilerGreat for Airline TravelAs a road warrior, I love passing the time listening to this entertaining, engaging, and enlightening podcast. Making me a better player at higher and lower altitudes.
-
Campy19Would be better with just AndrewI guess there’s always fast forwarding through Nate’s inane pontifications, but just Andrew seems like an easy fix.
-
bunc247A superb poker podcastThis poker podcast is easily my favorite. From insightful strategy to thought provoking interviews, Andrew and Nate deliver something fresh and unique to my ears each week. If you’re a fan of the game, this podcast is the nuts.
-
Keith CarangeloMy Favorite Podcast - Poker or OtherwiseI've listened to every episode of the Thinking Poker podcast, many more than once. Andrew and Nate are both fantastic poker teachers and in their strategy segments they offer deep insights on a wide range of topics. The interviews are a great way to meet some of the most interesting people who just happen to love to play poker.
-
tneuman4Thoughtful. Humble. Awesome.I have been a fan of the Thinking Poker Podcast for 4+ years and consider it “must listen poker content.” What I appreciate most about Nate and Andrew is that they not only provide deep, thought-provoking hand analysis which has helped me improve my game, but they truly show their character by putting as much thought into a $0.05/$0.10 hand as they do a $50/$100 hand. It’s clear that they have a passion for poker, but also do a great job of balancing that with a humility you don’t always here in the poker world. They challenge each other, admit what they don’t know, and even admit when they are wrong or maybe haven’t thought about something the right way. Another side-benefit of the show is that they clearly timestamp the major chunks (usually an intro/catch up on Andrew’s and Nate’s lives, in-depth strategy and then an interview with someone tied to the poker world). This allows you to jump around and get to the parts you want easily without having to guess. In the 4+ years I’ve listened, I think I’ve become a better, more consistently winning poker player, and I don’t think it’s an accident that I probably have 50+ hours of strategy from Nate and Andrew now rolling around in my subconscious. If you’re looking for a poker podcast that is deep, but approachable, delivered with a delightful affability and humility, then this is a poker podcast for you!

KnightTakesOne of the better poker castsI like that these guys do the podcast for their love of poker. No ads, no fluff.
-
Trabendo_dazeI re-downloaded iTunes again just to give a good reviewNate, Andrew, Carlos and guests provide a wonderful and eclectic mix of (free!) value to the poker world. The nitcast is at times purely analytical (commentary on battling GTO robots), frequently sociological (commentary on the odd version of humanity which exists in the live poker realm), and always critical (Brokos and Meyvis don't hold back in comments on their own play, or that of other people). The strategy segments are usually gold (especially for a live player), but the interviews can be a bit dry at times. Some guests, however, evoke a particularly gregarious version of Nate and Andrew (Christian Soto, Cate Hall come to mind). Be selective on the interviews you listen to, but definitely give these guys a shot.
-
uscjustoIf you like poker, this is must-listen podcastAndrew and Nate are poker and podcast studs. They produce great content, strategy segments and line up the best guests. The nitcast has built up a great community and following.

Andrew1192Great Poker Podcast: A+The Thinking Poker Podcast is a must listen to for anyone who loves poker. I've been listening for over two years and continue to believe it is one of the best poker podcasts out there. The thoughtful and interesting strategy content on everything from micro stakes to high stakes is educational but easy to understand. Their guests are very interesting and you'll never feel like you're listening to the same thing twice. Nate and Andrew are excellent hosts and bring thoughtful and unique perspectives to their Podcast. Do yourself a favor and check them out!
-
gamemastermarcBest poker podcastThis is by far the most interesting and useful podcast out there.
-
cccwongEarnest. Genuine. Curious.Super informative podcast. But more than just great strategy, it's just a great show with two friends who truly love poker -- not because of the money, not because of the fame, but because of the beauty of the game itself and an admiration of those who play the game thoughtfully. Occasionally, the guests veer a bit too far away from poker, but those moments are few and far between. Almost everyone is interesting, and the interview questions are probing and incisive. Long live The Thinking Poker Podcast -- long may she reign.
-
dneedle1Fantastic poker podcast instrumental in improving my gameI've listened to more than 200 episodes. Andrew and Nate provide excellent analysis of hands they play or people send in, and condcut excellent interviews of various people involved in the poker world, from multiple bracelet winners to good grinders to people working on AI and software solvers. They discuss GTO, proper exploits and all manner of things that will grow your game. My all time favorite podcast, poker or otherwise.
-
DnfjzIehgnvThe best free poker podcastMy favorite, and the best free poker podcast. I never miss an episode.
-
flame123Excellent Must-Listen Poker PodcastWonderful podcast with indepth analysis of a poker hand or two. I listen to the strategy sessions multiple times, taking notes, and improving my poker game. Definitely worth a listne.
-
Codowlsky PolopumusGreat content, great guysVery well thought out info for improving your game.
-
Bryant HalseyGreat balancePerfect mix of strategy and great interviews. I love the stories of different poker players but I also enjoy the off topic interviews too. My number one podcast I listen to when a new episode drops.
-
CherrycupcakegirlReally Makes You ThinkI'm only a handful of episodes into the podcast but I am finding it to be 100% +EV. It's very in the weeds, nth level thinking brought down to mere mortal terms that I can understand. They have a great rapport and their sometime differing opinions adds a lot of depth and nuance to the discussions. Great format. Thanks guys! Love that Maryland is representing too!
-
JoluvscardsGreat showPart theory, part practical, all fun.
-
Hermione_10I always listenThanks for two plus years of excellent content. I look forward to listening every week, and surviving the long drive home from work. My favorite section is the strategy section, and I'd like more strategy and more Nate, but I've learned a lot and the podcast makes me wish that I had access to playing more poker. Looking forward to another 200 episodes.
-
Rolexus777The Amarone of poker podcastsDelicious, rich, full-bodied poker podcast! Intelligent, inquisitive hosts deeply analyzing a poker hand or two, then conducting intriguing 30-50-minute interviews with interesting individuals.
-
lydiardfanExcptionally Good and Unique Poker PodcastThe Thinking Poker podcast provides consistently great poker content unlike that which I've found anywhere else, and that's saying something given the amount of poker content which I consume. The hand history reviews are extremely well thought out and detailed. Both Andrew and Nate are extremely well spoken and do an excellent job of conveying their thoughts. Additionally, the guests are well chosen for their varied experiences outside of poker as well as in. I've very thankful that this podcast exists.
-
Chris_tea_na2pMore than how to play...This podcast introduces a cast of amazing poker people. The hosts have helped me learn to ask better questions about my play, which has improved my study, too.
