    Wonderful
This is the only podcast I keep up with every week. The dynamic between Rob and Jeff is hilarious. Most wrestling podcasts have become overwhelming negative but STR has a good balance. I usually save it for a commute and it does not disappoint. Edited in 2021: it’s ok. They have bad takes though. I kid.

    Dr. Nov to the rescue!
Jeff, thank you for the phenomenal upgrade in co-hosts! You two are the only reasons to waste a second on RAW.

4.5 stars is too low. I would give them six stars

Love the show very odd couple like. Jeff is very knowledgeable, funny, well spoken, and Rob is the other guy.

    Funniest wrestling pod out there
Fun and informative wrestliing podcast. They just have fun and don't take themselves too seriously. Great pod to listen too when I'm out for my run. Only request is to see Rob-- EAT THAT HAT!!!!

    High Priority Listening
Shake Them Ropes is a terrific podcast for anyone with even a cursory interest in WWE. Rob and Jeff have good interplay. I occasionally get frustrated with Jeff being in Grump Mode, but he is incredibly wise, and has warranted substance behind his occasional pessimism. Plus, it wouldn't be very entertaining if they just agreed all the time. Rob seems very pleasant, though I don't really understand his obsession with Tino Sabbatelli (sp?). I like the relative brevity of the show. They cover all aspects of WWE programming, so it's not like they can spend too much time on any one show. "That's a good thing!" --DDP

    Fantastic
I was first introduced to both Rob McCarron and Jeff Hawkins as podcasting personalities while they were guests on other podcasts hosted by some guy named Sean Ross Sapp. As good as Sapp was, I always found myself more interested to hear McCarron and Hawkins. McCarron has a great deadpan, sarcastic quality to him. Hawkins is an odd mix of cheerful and pessimistic. I was delighted to find that these two did a podcast together and just how well they play off one another. Both are knowledgeable and insightful in their comments, and come at their review of current wrestling events from different eras. Hawkins holds the era of the territories closer to his heart, while McCarron came in at about the Attitude Era, if I recall correctly. It leads to interesting debates between these two friends (or bitter enemies pretending to like each other until one throws the other through a barbershop window, only time will tell). As someone that has had the opportunity of getting to talk shop with Jeff, writer-to-writer, there isn't a nicer guy to support. Maybe Rob, if he butters me up. I can be bribed, Mr. McCarron. I have no shame.

    Great listen
Both Rob and Jeff bring humor and intelligent conversations to the wrestling podcast world, which makes it a must listen.

    Tino + Baron = Corbitelli
This is a pretty fun wrestling podcast that focuses heavily on the WWE. They really "bring it to the table" if you know what I mean. The host Rob is like a mix of a poor man's Dan Lebatard and a poor man's Stugotz. Rob has an unique sense of humor and view on pro-wrestling. Where as co-host Jeff is a poor man's Greg Coty. He has great insight on wrestling "back in his day" however can't seem to get the timing of the podcast outro. Overall this is a great podcast but for the love of god give us a "Hawkins Unfiltered". Now that I think about it never mind.

Don't tell me what to do!
Leave a review?! A review?? Let me tell you something, nerds, if and when I decide to leave a review, it will be on my terms! I don't just review things because someone tells me to, I do it when it's my time! But anyway, as long as I'm here ... this is my favorite show on the Voices of Wrestling network. Rob and Jeff are easy to listen to, they don't get into fake arguments like on other wrestling podcasts. The length is just right. And I like that this is one of the VOW shows that focuses on WWE. The best thing I can says is that these guys make me wish I was in the "room" talking with them.

    Great Wrestling Podcast!
Shake Them Ropes is awesome. Rob and Jeff have great chemistry, each brings his own expertise and experience to the party and it comes together very nicely. These guys are the only good thing on the VoW network and I'm so glad they have their own stream.

    worth it
It took me a long time to find a wrestling podcast that I could really get into and look forward to, but then last year I found STR. I find all the other wrestling pods too long, too goofy, or too boring. STR definitely hits the spot and gives me the WWE coverage I want, along with great info about other promotions. (And although Jeff's voice is a bit grating against Rob's soothing tone, I find myself more aligned with Jeff's views and opinions over Rob's. So it's an even trade.) Guys, congrats on 200 episodes! I look forward to hearing more from you both.

    One Of My Favorites
I love STR for a few different reasons. One, Rob and Jeff have great chemistry and are hilarious. Two, I can stay caught up with basically every hot topic in wrestling with a single one-hour podcast. Three, their analysis of the WWE, NJPW and other promotions is knowledgeable and entertaining. It's a go-to show and I look forward to it weekly.

A fair and balanced WWE-centered podcast
If you're looking for a concise, WWE-focused podcast, this is the one. Cerebral smark Rob McCarron and old school poet Jeff Hawkins play off each other well; both listen as well as they talk. It helps that they care about and enjoy the product first, and when they are critical, it means more. These are two hosts you'd like to have next to you at a show. Well worth a listen.

    Love the show
As a 35 year old, I have zero friends who still watch wrestling. This show allows me to hang out and listen/talk wrestling! Only complaint is that it is just an hour. Keep up the good work!
  • TDubz_OnDaTrack
    Solid Podcast
This is a great podcast to subscribe to if you enjoy the perspectives and opinions of others on WWE like I do myself. Rob and Jeff bring unique and original views on storyline development, backstage drama and just about anything you can think about in the WWE. If you consider yourself a fan of wrestling, you gotta check out this podcast, it's a great way to recap the week in WWE and all of wrestling!

    Good
Good podcast and they have up to date news and good opinions only negative is when Jeff does his radio voice gets a lil annoying in EarPods but overall good show
  • csmithson2000
    Great Podcast
Jeff shouldn't sing anymore, or tell jokes. Rob is fantastic and has the voice that can only be compared to that of the love child of Justin Timberlake and Kesha. Keep putting the meat to the wrestling podcast world....and the week after that, starcade.

    Please stop interrupting Jeff
    Thanks

An uneven, average at best wrasslin podcast
It's an okay podcast, half the time Jeff seems to hate the wwe product to the point where I wonder why he still does a show on the wwe product ,Rob seems like a disingenuous co host from the skip Bayless school of hot takes. The other half its such an absurd show it's actually enjoyable;Kane is Great, theatre skits are so bad they're good, & Dana Brooke So yeah, it's ok

    Shake Them Ropes
Great podcast, listening to it is easily the best part of my week and the banter between Jeff and Rob is always top notch. One of the best WWE centric podcasts out there

I enjoy listening to the opinions on here. Way better than Cats. P.S. CM Punk will never fight in the UFC

    Half the Pair is Enjoyable
I enjoy hearing Rob's take on the weekly happenings of wrestling. I especially like when he tells stories about shows he's gone too. Rather than the stereotypical talking crap, he provides insight on what we could possibly be seeing down the road. His co-host is very negative and weighs down the show for me. I'd love a podcast where Rob goes solo.

Good Show by some Good Brothers
A fun look back at the week that was in WWE. One of my go-to podcasts of the week. It's a good show. These are good brothers. Check it out!
  • MIkey Wild
    Intelligent and informative.
One of my favourite weekly wrestling shows. The diversity in tastes between the hosts offers a lot of unique perspective and entertaining takes on programs and ankles. In addition, incredibly humourous and light hearted. Jeff is get straight forward with his jocularity, while Rob's facetiousness may be harder to catch onto, but hilarious nonetheless. Always looking forward to the opinions of these 2 gentlemen.
