    Mike Blackwood
Really enjoyed the interview with Mike Blackwood. He certainly reinforces the importance of good conservation practices for a healthy fishery. I’ve been fishing coastal NC for over fifty years and am greatly saddened that our state still allows the damaging practices of inshore shrimp trawling AND inshore large mesh gills. I have children and grandchildren and unless things change here there will be nothing left for them. Very very sad that greed is being allowed to rule over a healthy ecosystem and fishery. God bless you and thank you for the fine podcast.

    Agenda driven with good information.
I gave it 2 stars for content and information. My main complaint is it’s politically driven toward catch and release and trying to change the “culture” of eating fish. I see eating fish as much more important than just culture… it’s what keeps people coming to our bays and keeping them protected. The general public couldn’t care less if we like to hook fish, drag them to us, and then release them. They also don’t care about trophy fish or PB. Corporations and nefarious actors will use that to lessen the importance of fishing. PETA folks will do the same. Eating fish and having clean water are essential to do this. Destroying peoples food source is much different than taking away a hobby, it’s food. I’m all for C&R, however I see where this is going. They have good information and I believe are generally interested in speckled trout, however their perspective is skewed. We should encourage people to eat fish, go fishing when they need fish, and discourage fishing for vanity, likes, trophy, money, and such.

    Excellent Podcast
Thank you for bringing this information to us all, and helping us all grow as anglers. My son and I listen together when traveling to Grand Isle to go fishing at my dad’s camp, and it gives us much to talk about. I also listen when traveling for work, and these episodes really get me thinking about all the nuances of fishing. I can’t say enough about how you are changing the hearts and minds of the fishing men/women across the gulf south, especially LA. If there’s one thing you could do that would put this podcast over the top, it would be to list all the names/colors of the lures, and equipment used by each angler in each episode. I say this because it’s impossible for me to take notes while driving and rarely do I have the time to listen again. Just a thought. Thanks again to you and all of your guests. All the best Michael @lsufishguy

    Great Info
Such a great podcast with some hard hitting legendary anglers. A lot of us average anglers have maybe read stories of some of these anglers and now being able to listen to their stories and to be able to grab bits and pieces of info not only for entertainment but to also make us better anglers goes a long way. Thank you Chris for bringing this type of education and entertainment to us average anglers and for all you do for the trophy trout population.

    Passionate about trout
I enjoy listening to people passionate about trout with a lot of experience catching big fish, but I wish the interviewer would tease out more interesting details from his guests. Lots of rambling discussions about conservation and philosophies, but discussions about the science of conservation or behaviors of gator sea trout are few and far between.

    Father and son
Excellent presentation of the rights of passage fishing brings. Going through my family’s photos after my mother passed gave me memories from my first fishing experience with my father and grandfather I had forgotten. My uncle passed fishing along to us also. My son and I have gone through the ritual and it is much more than what goes on the stringer. He shared your podcast, so the circle is unbroken.

    Awesome podcast
Best podcast I’ve ever listen too. I keep small trout to eat some but am a firm believer in empty stringers and letting the big ones go. I hope this podcast inspires people to release more trout whether it be a 15 incher or a 30 incher like it did me. Look forward to hearing more

    Truly something special.
I've been following The Speckled Truth for quite a while now and have spoken to Chris personally on several occasions. What you hear is what you get with him. He's truly passionate about Specks and the fishing industry, also if you can't tell from his first episode, a true family man. I look forward to seeing where this journey brings him and The Speckled Truth. Keep up the great work bro!!
