mjnameJust endless commercial breaksThose long drawn out story line interview style commercials. Just not worth the mental health to listen to all the ad breaks
-
manayunk wallAdvertisements yes, podcast content...not so muchIt's just all advertisements and not much content. I'm realizing now Pushkin isn't about story it's about pushing as many ads as possible until I break down. Well you broke me, I'm not lsiteing anymore.
-
Could_not_watch_this_movieMostly innuendo, stylish innuendoLong on “may”, short on proof …
-
Alba VardenHard to followGreat collection of ads but gets constantly bogged down by these small investigation spots in every episode.
-
@TheGirlPieDecent tale, crummy delivery systemA good investigation, well told, but it’s a 90-minute story stretched and padded to make eight under-30 min eps — with terrible gaps in the narrative due to issues with the ads stopping minutes into the next narrative, dropping all the key facts — it just re-starts mid-sentence. Maybe they’ve messed with the skipping feature but it doesn’t happen on other Pushkin shows. PLUS — tacking on eps of other podcasts to double the episode length without any mention of that podcast name or length in the show notes is hostile. If this were my first introduction to Pushkin, it would be the last show I’d ever listen to. (No shade on this host or this season of Hot Money/New Narcos.)

ShenJohnBackground Sounds DistractingI can’t take the digital background sound effects. They don’t add to the story. It’s not like traffic sounds during an interview, it just annoying digital sounds that distract from the storytelling. Had to stop listening.
-
StillWater1Technical issuesWon’t play plus A TON OF ADS
-
Beck KinerkAnnoying amount of adsGreat podcast super fascinating, but it can be hard to follow, because the podcast will only run 15 mins then they will give you a sneak peak of another podcast for 45 mins. Beyond that there is a ridiculous amount of ads. Once I finish this podcast, it will probably be my last Pushkin pod, because they really kill the entertainment with all of their promotions.

C. MCBEEThank You!!For giving me another reason for hating The Beatles
-
NatNixonGreat journalism & storytellingLove these FT podcasts- intriguing dot connecting and compelling journalism. I always learn something new- even if a bit sobering- I look forward to the next season!

Bob HuffmanGood show background sound effects overbearing at timesI like the show but sometimes like in Episode 2, the sound effects are way too loud, overpowering the speaker.

daffy688Misleading language that sounds a lot like propagandaWhile i have enjoyed the first season of this podcast, season 2 surprised me with an investigation of the murder of an MEK TERRORIST on Dutch soil. Mohammad-Reza Kolahi was responsible for an explosion that killed 70 persons in Iran. The narrator acknowledges the man was a TERRORIST, and then proceeds to minimize that very important fact by neglecting to mention this from that point on. I’m sure the writers prefer to avoid calling him a terrorist, as it would doubtless make the audience less interested in getting him justice, but it is an uncontested fact that the man earned the epithet. The writers seem far more interested in smearing the Iranian GOVERNMENT (not “regime” as the narrator uses), than in telling a story in a balanced manner. Sure, Iran may have resorted to contacting the killing on organized crime, but was the alternative? Sending in a couple of Blackhawk helicopters full of special operations soldiers to kill him? Would that feel better to the writers? Only the most powerful nation in the world can act with such impunity. While the story is certainly newsworthy and podcast-worthy, i feel the writers twisted it into a propaganda piece. The proper use of language is fundamental to relate a balanced story. And balanced is the only way a story should be related. The fact that Mohammad-Reza Kolahi, aka Ali Motamed, was a cold-blooded terrorist is an extremely important element of the story. Do not minimize it.

BKPslopeGood material, too many adsI like the topics a lot and will probably finish listening to the second season. Probably, not definitely because there is way too much ad time in each episode. And now there’s a 3 min ad formatted like an interview that sounds like it’s part of the podcast. This ruins an otherwise good show
-
knowswhathestalkingaboutToo much ad timeThere’s more ads than show but the show is very good Edit: one star. Hard to tell what’s an ad and what’s not. Stopped listening.
-
Shruti-PandeyFavorite showOne of my favorite shows!! Been waiting for a new season, binged it today. Loved it
-
tic talkJuicy content squandered bu ads and sloppy editingOthers have already lamented the repetitive ads. But on the episode “ties with Tehran”, your editing was sooo sloppy I got a headache and had to put it down. The beginning of every other sentence was cut off so you barely know what they’re talking about! Seriously, hire a new editor. This was an embarrassment.
-
wr18r02Mostly adsMaybe 30% of this thing is commercials? Loud, obnoxious ones every ten minutes or so. Barely listenable.
-
Alexandre____Decent podcast but so bloated with ads!Seriously - over 5 mins of ads for a short episode? I get you gotta make money, but sheesh. This whole series could be 3 episodes.
-
Lord RuphusFascinating and well writtenGot me on the edge of my EarPods.

Let him cook he is himothyAds.Thought it was good. To many ads sadly. If there weren't this would be a 5.
-
VTREIGNGreat series but way too many adsBorderline abusive to the listener with the amount of ads they cram into a half hour. Besides that, great show.
-
justinljacobsSo many ads…..So many ads…..
-
Amber597Fascinating seriesThis series is so interesting, especially if you are interested in how the financial sector impacts our lives - in ways that you would never think about. It’s very revealing- even if porn isn’t your thing.
-
Mally_Mal_Mal6789More of this please!!So glad I found this show. Keep it up!
-
The Great Glass AlavatorReally fascinating!Super cool, in depth reporting. I knew part of this story, but definitely not all of it. Absolutely blazed through the episodes. Really great listen!
-
BearwithspiritIt is not just about PornThis is an important listen if you want to learn about finance, scale, & the internet. Don’t let the word Porn turn you away from the podcast especially the first five episodes or so.

Evan1026Great show. Highly entertaining.Have recommended it to others.
-
Pizza eeterzGood info but…The amount of self congratulatory and editorializing statements takes away from the experience, and the credibility of the presenters.
-
peggyandjackWhere Tech Meets PornTheir voices carry a tone that never interferes and supports their authority on the subject. It is about pornography the way a steak is about a cow. I binged on this the way I binged on “The Queen’s Gambit”. Oddly, with both it is women who were driving the plots. I have recommended it to 3 people. All 3 have thanked me, asked what I was listening to now. LOL Writing my own series
-
BigDaddyDirkCan’t make this up!!On the last episode they interview a pornstar/weed smoker who sells videos but she’s getting her videos taken down and now she doesn’t know how she’s going to make money!!!🤣🤣🤣

-CCDeYappGood podcast.Excellent program, well reported and researched. If only there wasn’t that super long sound logo/ musical interlude at the start of the show. Sorry I don’t care for it.
-
caqageFantastic PodcastHot Money is a fascinating podcast. Patricia and Alex are very good journalists who record facts in a compelling way. Highly recommending Hot Money to anyone in need of a good podcast that will open eyes to a subject that should be talked about more openly.
-
@cesargonzExcellent investigationWell paced, researched and engaging. Digs into a subject usually shrouded in darkness, rumor and ill repute. Quite fun.
-
KahunahuOne of the best podcastsI listen to a variety of podcasts daily. The subject here was well thought through. On point. Loved every episode, I hope they can expand the shore into another season. Thanks!

Herrow herrow how lowEerily Quiet on PayPayl’s Boycotting…Recycled headlines from 2018… made into a full blown podcast in 2022 by the British. And… nice dogwhistles in Ep 5. SMH. “Talmudic” is not a real word. Inside 1 minute, that word is thrown in, followed by “not Kosher,” “their secret 5 Commandments instead of the usual 10,” then the ole favorite of non-Americans who don’t actually use Yiddish words in their English; “SCHTICK” said with a hefty Shhhh-tick — incase people aren’t picking-up what you’re throwing down about this “foreign word” only thrown around while talking “ruthless bankers.” Tell me, since when did Visa & Mastercard become “bankers?” They’re credit card companies!! How many times can one squeeze in the word “GLOBAL” when talking about PAYMENT PROCESSORS? They’re not humans — they’re corporations. And they’re not owned by those whom you dogwhistle, and it’s so British of you to be so disgusting about it. Interesting how you NEVER mention PayPal ONCE. They single-handedly caused the MOST damage by boycotting sex workers… buuuut they’re owned by Peter Theil, whose an all powerful right-winger actually pulling puppet strings, soooo of course THIS fact gets left on the cutting room floor. Agenda, much? Lastly, how you could allow a performer whose censored for fetishizing mensuration to go unchecked with absolutely no pushback about her misrepresentation and minimization about what she’s doing on the platform, when complaining this move was somehow “sexist,” rather than a policy against a vulgar fetish that IS fundamentally misogynistic — especially when she sardonically goes, “whuh? Did they take womens’ studies, all the sudden?”(which is her taking a dig at actual Feminism, btw) — is further proof Pushkin, yet again, is making content funded by private interests. It’s not Journalism when you’re not being objective, and further, trying to pedal a slant (a targeted harmful conspiracy theory slant) that financially benefits said executive producer. It’s not allowed in print or video media — just waiting for podcasting to finally catch up with journalistic ethics & integrity. I forced myself to finish this podcast (taking a break during your finale to write this review), like I do with every podcast that isn’t so awful I have to immediately stop, but I’m in disbelief you ended on a story already told 4-5 years ago by VICE!!! Lulz.
-
kstu2323Awesome podcast- ads are unbearable tho.Love this pod. But the ads are so frequent and incredibly obnoxious. Makes me want to never buy gold leaf tea again.
-
miss cghSurprisingly interestingFor a financial podcast, this is fascinating! Definitely a worthy listen, looking forward to the finale

TheRubPRNot Exactly AccurateAs an industry veteran of 15 years, I actually learned a thing or two. However, Tim Stokley didn’t create Findom. He also took the idea for OnlyFans from someone else. I enjoyed the podcast but hope listeners won’t think the adult industry is this horrible place, because it’s not.
-
manyaKnoidEngaging and highly interestingYou will be blown away learning the innards of this secretive industry by the excellent investigative reporting.
-
dirty staschFascinating and informativeProfessional but also scintillating. Glad I listened! Highly recommended

DAP56\InformativeVery interesting.
-
AccountingslayrAds are getting ridiculous and taking away from the experienceI understand free means there’s ads. But when the podcast is 30 minutes long and there’s 4 sets of advertisements it’s kinda annoying.
-
langabeanFascinating!Great reporting FT. Love the two hosts. Congrats.
-
Buzz108Interesting and well producedI heard this advert on Andrew Gold’s On the Edge and decided to check this out. So far I am very impressed. In this world of podcasts it is good to find a show that is succinct and informative!! Looking forward to the whole series! Thank you

sarahjanelooney10/10 would recommendwell paced, tasteful, mesmerizing. Consider me your first super fan. Going places.

XaedalusThis is an excellent ongoing investigation.I am so glad that the producers and reporters followed Stoya’s advice to stay in their lane, because understanding the business side of porn is illuminating. I’m pro-porn and pro-sex work; this expose helps me find common ground with the anti-porn advocates because the corporatization of porn isn’t a good thing for anyone. We do need transparency into the business of porn, in order to effect actual changes and reform. Well done; and I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
